In this video I will walk you through the INCREDIBLE changes a dyno tune made from the professionals at High Performance Diesel in Adelaide. I will walk you through the tuning process, the trip to Adelaide, the difference in power, how my cruiser runs and sounds now, a 0-100km/h time trial, and the difference in fuel consumption.

Thanks heaps mate! I’m thinking a lift kit next and some new shoes! After that I reckon I’ll be looking at some bar work and a roof rack and all the fun stuff that comes with that!

Just found your Chanel 👍👍 My hzj105 blew up 4 months after I purchased it. It's in the shop as we speak getting rebult with ceramic coated pistons and turbo rod's. 🤞

What are you revving to for the 0-100km/h test? Sounded low. Go to 4/5k rpm.

Next purchase is an AFR gauge and then you can keep your eye on the air fuel ratio. You will be amazed how much your tune will get into the danger zone when you gain any altitude. Also you learn how to keep your EGTs is check on the really long steep climbs. I bought one with a wide band sensor and goes to 20:1. Great video

OutLandyish Rig High Performance Diesel in Adelaide. Those guys are amazing to deal with. They’re all so friendly and accomodating and they did a very professional job, took maybe 3 hours and cost me around $450 including the boost tee. Couldn’t be happier

Wow some great gains from day dot. Would you call safe tune considering boost,egt's & afr's ? Had our 105, 4 months, 1hz,safari turbo with front inter-cooler. Just installed 3 inch manta, and waiting for ordered new release Armax snorkel. Hopefully after Melbourne lock-down will take trip to Berrima diesel to get some gains !! Your gains are encouraging. 🤞

That’s an awesome setup you’re running there mate! I absolutely would consider it a safe tune as the boost is reasonably low, AFRs are at a safe level and the EGTs are incredibly low. As I said in the video, I think it’s really important to get your engine tuned especially after adding a turbo and cooler, etc.

Keen to see this in another 100000k’s and regular tough bush use....... 1HZ most reliable engine known to man kind but they hate boost. Even done right that just buys you some time.

Jared Mcmurray same old clutch and it seems to be holding up fine so far! I’ll just have to make sure I don’t ride it too much in the dunes 😂

Hey mate, it was a flat rate for this job. Very affordable $350 for tune and boost tee. They’re a great mob there

I really dont understand how they tune mechanical injection diesels on the dyno! There's not really any ecu that u can load any tune into. Can u plz tell me how is it they tuned yours?

Haha much simpler than any ECU my friend. As simple as winding the boost up, and winding the fuel up to match it. They measure the AFR and when they’re happy with that, we’re set!

Haydn Coulson AFR peaks just below 20 @ 2000 revs and is at its lowest of 17.5 @ 3600 revs

@@WillsLandcruiser 17.5 is way to high mate. The boys with the JB setups are flat lining 21:1 making the same if not more power, with less smoke, no intercooler and 15 to 16 psi boost.

Chris Femia A safe tune will have the fuel set right for the peak boost when you don’t have a compensator. So my fuel is good for 14psi but when it’s just spooling up there’s more fuel so it’ll soot up. I’ve been told it won’t hurt it for the short period it takes to spool though!

Hey mate, starts spooling at 1500, full boost by 2000. Definitely spools up quick but great torque down low and pulls hard all the way

@@WillsLandcruiser Mine seems to be about the same but it still seems a bit sluggish, especially off boost. It is on 33's and weighs 3.1 every day off the week though

@@Mr105. I think it comes down to the tune most importantly. Things like a better intercooler and high flow exhaust will allow the AFR to be richer without raising EGTs that much. Weight is definitely a contributor too. Mines a little more sluggish when the back is loaded and it’s full of people. Things like a roof rack, bar work, bigger tyres- as I’m sure you know, it’s all gonna slow you down

Haha yeah sorry mate sometimes I speak like everyone is on the same wavelength as me. So there’s two ways of measuring power- at the flywheel, and at the wheels. Generally when people are talking about a car’s power, they’re using flywheel stats. But flywheel stats are pretty useless because you lose so much power through the drive chain. So when I say “84kw on all fours”, I mean it is making 84kw of power on all 4 wheels. Ideally we’d be reading the power on the rear 2 wheels, because you lose another 30% of power in 4WD. But as many would know, the 105 series is all-time 4WD, there’s no 2WD option unless you put in a part-time kit or remove the front tailshaft. Hope this helps mate

@@WillsLandcruiser I currently have the tiny factory intercooler. I had it tuned with the 3" exhaust & dump pipe. Before the tune at the rear wheels was 65.8Kw 229Nm on 9.9psi Boost to 104.7kw 342.8Nm on 14.8psi boost. stock turbo (smaller in size than the 3.0L Patrol) with the tiny top mount intercooler. Your results on all 4 wheels is brilliant. I'm looking forward to installing the large HPD intercooler and will see whether my boost will drop. If it does then I'll simply run it on the dyno and retune.

I must say your not driving it right for 0/100 at all rev it more bro 100% I think mine is quicker na Even if peak hp is at 2700 u should be revving to more than that so your average revs are about 2700 not 1800
