I like how you chose a cage that meets the minimum requirement and not a small, colorful cage. The setup looks nice to start with but you could possibly add some wooden, wicker or seagrass cage accessories to make it more natural. Chew toys are also important. You can rub them in peanut butter and then wipe it off the chews to make them more interesting to chew on. Hamsters teeth never stop growing so that is very important to them. the food you have is probably fine but I recommend sunburst (hamster and gerbils) mix with mazuri (mouse and rat) food with a little bit of mealworms for more nutrients but the hamster you have is adorable

NEVER EVER take your hampster out of the box. This can be very stressful because they were just removed from their home that they have been in. You should also avoid human interaction for about 48 hours. Maybe add more enrichment you can also make toys. Maybe add more bedding. I’m not a hampster professional but I recommend watching Victoria Raechel. No hate I love the setup.

Hey! I'm actually new to your channel I just wanted to let you know that umm hamster critter powder can actually cause respiratory infectetions. Some safer options are reptisand or children's play sand. Also you should probaly add more things in the cage to make it more of a tighter space because they are prey so they would more likely be crowded than in a area with a lot of open area. The hammy is so cute. Lastly make sure that you have a proper sized wheel. Oh yeah and hamsters should have a more varied diet than just pellet. You have to know that your hamster's Cage is really good, but there are some things that are very bad for your hammy. First thing is that Bath dust is UNSAFE!!! You have to make sure that you are using SAND! Next thing is that hamster's need to have at list 6 inches of bedding, because they LOVE to make tunels under ground, and the last thing is that you have to put more tubes or toys in the Cage, because hamsters are pray animals and they fill more safe when they have something to hide under. And btw Your hamster is very cute 💞

I would also add a lot more toys such as bendy bridges, cork logs, a sand bath, more hideouts, etc.

I know Im late but Please change the powder to all natural No calcium sand! The powder will give the little baby respiratory infections. Also Try adding in more bedding so He can burrow and add more things to the enclosure. Large open areas stress them out. These can be card board houses or even select sticks from ceartain tress outside (double check to be safe) but thank you for getting a good cage size! Oh and one more thing try getting the Higgins Sun burst food as well as what you have as it provides almost the perfect nutritional value! Sorry if its a lot I want your hammy to have a great life 💗

The cage is a little small and there needs to ba a lot more bedding. You need to feed your hamster a seed mix so that they will have variety and make sure that your hamster has plenty of enrichment. You could but a sand bath in the enclosure too.

You’re not supposed to use and show a bath powder because it because upper respiratory issues if you search up sand Victoria Rachel‘s video will pop up and she’ll tell you what kind of sand you can use also I suggest you switch to Higgins sunburst and Missouri ray and mouse diet because an only pellet diet is boring and not nutritional

You are right. Hammys (hamsters)have two kinds of poo first one is just poop but the second kind is when they don’t digest all the nutrients the first time so they eat it to get the nutrients the second time.

Just so your hamster is healthy please make sure to use reptile sand or sand with no added calcium. The powder can cause respitory issues.

The food that you gave your hamster is a very small variety and has very little vitamins.The cage is also too small and hamsters make tunnels in at least six inches of bedding but the bedding is safe and you’re hamster is sooooooo cute.

hi! i love that you got your hamster a big cage!! just some tips , bath powder is not safe for hamsters, use Reptile sand or childrens playsand instead! also you could put in more bedding so he can burrow. and the diet is not the greatest, i would really recomend to wacht more videos from victoria reachel on youtube for all the hamster care tips and diet.

Aww, I’m sad you couldn’t get the one you wanted. Oh and hamsters produce 2 kinds of poop, One that has nutrition and is edible and one that isn’t edible. For last, you should wait 2-3 days before holding and touching your hamster so it can get used to its environment I won’t say anything else because you are probably already informed. You’re doing awesome job!

Please do more research if you get another Hamster. (Ik this vid is 3 yrs old though.) that Cage doesn’t look like it’s 450 sq, and I recommend a cage that is more than that. 800+ is better. Please don’t buy pets from the pet store!! Yeah, it’s what they’re for but..the animals come from pet mills! They only want the money. Please do research and find an ethically bred hammy! Also, Syrians need about 10+ inch bedding so I’d recommend a cage from niteangel, a really big bin, or an aquarium. (Oh also, if there’s no ethical hamster breeders near you, you can always find someone who is rehoming or you can find a local shelter / rescue. Hope this helps, and just know this is critical feedback, I’m not trying to be mean!

Your cage is really good so far, but here are just some things you’ll need :DD *a bigger wheel(yours is a 8.5 inch I believe, and once they get older they get bigger.) *try a different diet for your hamster ! Pellets are usually very stale, and they don’t have all the nutritions your hamsters needs. Hamster diets are kinda complicated, but you can go look them up ! *try adding more accessories because especially when your hamster is new they’ll get scared easily, or they just feel like it. More crowded areas make them feel more safe :)) *please do not use dust. It can cause respiratory problems, and if your hamster does already try going to the vet and feed your hamster some thyme or thyme tea. It’s good for their respiratory *a water dish or bottle I like your intentions btw ! I hope you and your hamster live life to the fullest !!

Just a warning.. DONT LISTEN TO THE PETSTORE PEOPLE! Your cage is proper, but you don't seem to have done much research. They food doesn't seem to have much varitey and it looks like hay wich hamsters don't need. And, don't use critter bath powder. It is too dusty. Sand only. Another thing, there doesn't look to be many hides or chews or things to do in there. Please research. Victoria Raechel is a good channel to check. Use playground sand & not critter powder. The bedding needs to be at least 15cm/6inches deep. You need to give a combo of : food, diet, treat, fresh fruits & veggies - too much food in Cottons food dish. I got Mr. Cupcake on Nov.24,2020 after Miss Muffin RIP (in my icon) passed away on Nov.23,2020. I only had her for 19 days, did she ever love to crawl up my arm, across my shoulders and then down my other arm. I buried her in my yard. Give Cotton all the love you can, God Bless. :-)

Everything is great except one thing. You can not use bath powder or bathing dust because it can cause respiratory infections to your hamster. I recommend buying Reptisand or Tiny Friends Farm Bathing Sand.

I think she needs to give the hamster a bigger cage at least 450 sqare inches of dfloor space and big cages ar qite ecspanife but you can make a hamster bin cage and there ar videos on how to do that.

Tip: you shouldnt use critter sand or any of those...use reptile sand or childrens playsand...you can mix it up too for the best

You really shouldn’t get them from petsmart 1. They get their hamsters and animals from horrible backyard breeders who MAKE the animals MATE. 2. When you buy a pet it just means more pets get to be put in misury 3. Petsmart is just not a good place to but pets 4. Their care is misleading (ex: puting hamsters together are ok.) Putting hamsters together is not ok because one reason is they could fight to the death. But, another option/ better option is buying them from kregslist. I know it doesn’t seem like a good option, but it is. ( and btw, your cage is actually to small and to open in space. I suggest you watch Victoria Raechel. :)
