been a min since I've posted but i had to tell yall about this insane story.. i feel as though i handled it right. let me know what you think.

I’m so happy you are safe! Something crazy like this happened to me a couple years ago. You truly are such a nice person. I think you did treat this whole situation right. Ya it was sketchy but you made sure you were not got to get hurt and make that family’s life even worse than it is. Capron you did what you thought was right you followed your heart and gut not alot of people do that most people would have the cops involved and hope that they get what the need back. You did the right thing Capron you communicated with those people without having the cops involved you also got them to help you get your stuff back even though they knew they had your personal belongings. I do wish that people can own up to there mistakes not alot of people do that but after seeing this it was definitely eye opening 💯💯

Im so glad your okay. That was very brave of you to put your life on the line to get your stuff back. I just find it crazy that they think your dumb and acted like as if they didnt steal it. I think you handled the situation well! But I would challenge you to think about how other people may feel that lost their trinkets or important things that they can’t track. There could be something really important in there that someone else lost. Just a thought!

I think the way you handled it was so great! But you should definitely be reporting this. There is no way the people are going to be held accountable without your help. They should be held accountable for the actions they took towards other people.

My boyfriend’s mom’s purse was stolen yesterday at Nike. She has everything in there. Phone, wallet, credit cards, money, etc. What’s scary is that my daughter is with her and two ladies have been going in circles pretending to go shopping but eventually keeping an eye on my boyfriend’s mom and my daughter. One lady “dropped” something and asked my boyfriend’s mom what size is the clothes. While the second lady snatched the purse quickly. It was placed down in the stroller cause grandma was carrying my daughter and her purse is big so it was putting more on the weight. She turned around and noticed her bag was gone and the lady who asked for the size left quickly as possible without her noticing. All of us we’re in there. I didn’t know it would happen and my back was turned and I was too busy shopping but my bag was with my daughter during incident and I was shocked mine didn’t get snatched. I was about 10 feet away from them. My boyfriend was with his mom and walked away to search something before the incident happened and he didn’t know as well. We both thought she already paid cause she was at the door but the look in her eyes knowing something is wrong. She had a feeling the two ladies are still inside so we went around in circles multiple times finding them what she described, we couldn’t find them. We stayed inside for over an hour talking to the staff and security. She wanted to stay longer because she thinks they’re still inside but they’re really gone and to accept the fact she can’t get it back. What I’m confused is that my bag is there as well. Like completely present. My daughter was holding it before she got carried by her grandma. The question is why didn’t they my stole bag? I mean it’s right in front of them. Not that I want it to happen cause my wallet and credit cards are in there but luckily my phone was with me. More importantly my daughter is safe. She’s still an infant and I’m glad no one is hurt. We already filed a police report. Lesson learned for us, stick together and never go separately even if we’re still in one store

I kinda respect the way you handled the situation Capron but if I had my expensive stuff stolen and traced it to a house with CLEARLY career criminals/thieves living there I definitely would have had them arrested, if they had that many bags and their houses were filled with stolen stuff then that family will never change and you probably would have done the kid a favour so they don't grow up another thief in a family of thieves... I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I've given too many 2nd chances to people who refused to learn and grow, to trust people like that ever again.

Honestly i wouldve told the cops after what was going on in that house I would not have cared about separating the family they are the ones stealing and lying to your face

Hopefully the main thing you learned from this situation is to never leave important things inside your vehicle even if it is locked. They should of never stole your stuff. But there are bad people in the world, and you just can't leave valuables unattended.

I think you should also have learned not to keep valuables in your car in a visible spot lol. Next time the whole scenario would have been avoided if the backpack was in the trunk or you didn’t leave it in the car. I’ve gone on enough trips to know you never leave anything valuable in our car, whether or not you lock the doors. Sure most people are looking for vehicles that are unlocked for easy stuff to steal, but some are willing to break windows to steal stuff as well.
