I knew I'd get stuck in this piece of **** A&S installed in 1981, and SIMON modded in 2001. I just didn't know how the elevator would stop on me... I've been stuck in the Lord & Taylor Elevator at Fashion Center on more than 1 occasion

I have the biggest fear of elevators

This is in the pavilion (former dpt store) which is part of the court. The Court opened in 1981. This used to be Abraham and Straus (A&S), and closed in 1995, Reopened as Strawbridge's and Clothier 1997, closed late '99/early '00. Converted to the Pavilion, opened 2001, which is when this elevator was modernized by Schindler. It HAD GAL Jet Plus fixtures, and was an esco labeled "OTIS". The passenger elevator (now Schindler MT) had Otis Lexan Buttons. That is why this area of the mall is 3floors

@cannycart The doors unlocked themselves when the elevator stopped. Freight elevators DO NOT have drop keys

@Padel131 I believe you are referring to the old Wanamaker's/Hecht's/Strawbridge's/Macy*s Plaza. That building closed in July 2007, and is still vacant. It has NOT been torn down and it probably never will be as there is no need for a new JCPenney b/c even though the actual building JCPenney is in opened in 1965, JCPenney has only occupied it since 1992. It was Gimbel's until the mid 80's, and stern's until 1992. JCP had a store in the plaza b4 1992, that opened in '63, and was torn down in '92.

@lormarina I already said in comments on this video several times already that I was not angry at him, I was not yelling at him, nor was I anything of that nature. I am very close friends with him and have known him for several years now, and again I was not talking to him in any manner that was unjust at that time.

@Padel131 I said A & S, (Abraham and Straus), which is the department store that used to be located in this building from 1981-1987, and sold the building to Strawbridge's, which occupied the building from 1989-1999, and the building was sold to SIMON Property Group in 1999 and was converted to mall space and reopened in time for Fall 2001...

JAF-Delgado Philly was a continuation of Deleware Valley Elevator Corp. after they went out of business...

the only thing that pissed me off is when Andrew kept telling me to jiggle the gate when I told him I did. That's why I started screaming "Andrew, I DID!"

@Spaceshotx7 when you take it to 2, the magnet sometimes thinks that it is already there and its not, but the door doesn't open yet because it knows that its not there yet

true, but Jon, keep in mind, this space opened in 1981 as A&S!!!, and closed in 1995, converted to Strawbridge's 1997, closed 1999 (moved to Plaza, former Hecht's). Pavilion opened in former A&S 2001. It used to have GAL Jet Plus when it was A&S...

this elevator is fail. luckily, it was modernized by Schindler and not TK. Those idiots just polish up old Dovers and call it done. It's still just basic Dover crap underneath.
