40 gallons of fuel and a bunch of H2O does not mix well lol ;) join me in this video as I put Mr. Funnel to the test and see if it will extract all the water ?

I'd be interested to see if it filters out the 2 cycle oil if you had it premixed but wanted to run it through this process after being stored for awhile. Good work Scary. Glad to see you've made a strong recovery. Back better than ever.

thank you, and one of the jugs was already mixed with oil and it did fine it only pulled out the water, probably shoud have included that.

Yeah, it will not filter out the oil as it is in solution with the gasoline.

The chunky bloby stuff is the ethanol, alchohol absorbs the water and seperates it out of the gas, this is how you remove ethanol from gas by mixing in water and shaking. You now have ethanol free gas, you also have about 2 points lower octane.

Hi Bart. I subbed last year. I've been thinking of getting into ppg. I have been looking at an electric ppg. I think it would be much easier and you don't have to worry about fuel and maintaining a 2 stroke engine and all the issues with that. My question is: Can you go over some more in depth things about ppg? Like how often you get to fly? How long do you fly? What's the weather have to be like? If you could do a video "how to", etc etc that would be cool. I notice you're a pretty positive guy, which is great, but you never really seem to cover any of the negatives of the sport. Can you do a video of the negatives? Like covering the things i said plus, price of machine, parts etc? Thanks and you're fun to watch!

Thank you for the sub and the kind words. I do feel I have documented some of my struggles with paramoting from falling on my face learning to foot launch to the many repairs and rebuilds I have had to do on the motors, but you are right I havnt touched much on weather, flying times, cost, and other things you have mentioned. Thank you for the suggestions and I will put some thought into a good way to include some of your questions into a future video. Thank you for reaching out and for your suggestions and I hope you find your way to the skies soon my friend ;)

Thanks for the video Bart. With that much fuel how do you store it and for how long can we expect it to last in our tanks when not in use? For ease let’s say it’s all rec gas thank scary Buddy

Thank you for watching, to be honest I share that fuel with a flying buddy of mine and we go through a couple of those jugs a week, we fly alot so it really doesn't sit around for long, but in the winter months we don't fly so the fuel left in our tanks sits for a few months and we have never had any issues and have never used any sort of storage stabilizer. But with that being said, just because I've never had an issue doesn't mean I'm doing the best practices? But for me the only time I have had trouble with my fuel is when I purchased it with water already in it from the gas station. I just check it every time I add fuel to make sure there isn't a separation line in the jug. Thanks again

@@BartBerry I guess that’s why my dad said keep the receipts from the gas station in case you get bad gas…..something I can’t say I’ve ever run into but by judging with the Seperation line, you found somewhere….imagine how many vehicles that could damage…damn

The probable reason you are losing some fuel is because even so called ethanol free fuel still has some ethanol, as well as water. Especially from a shared pump. This method of mixing water with the fuel will remove the ethanol, and since you are filtering off whatever water is in there, as well as the bit of ethanol, you will end up with less fuel than predicted. This is also a way to remove any remaining ethanol in the ethanol free fuel. Just mix water with the fuel and let it separate. Decant the fuel and voila..... actual ethanol free fuel. There are actually some class action law suits ongoing about this very problem with so called ethanol free fuel still containing up to 10% at the vast majority of pumps around the country. This is especially true if the ethanol free pumps are shared with regular mogas. The only way to get ethanol free fuel is at a station that has dedicated pumps for ethanol free. Even then, you will still end up with some ethanol as much of the delivery systems are shared. To lessen the problem on shared pumps you should pump a few gallons at least into your car before filling your paramotor can. This will help clear any residual mogas from the pumping system. If you are only pumping a few gallons into your paramotor can, you are absolutely not getting ethanol free, and you are essentially just getting regular ethanol laden mogas.

This also goes for different octane ratings. If you want to ensure you are getting the rating you want, you need to pump a few gallons into your car first, then fill your paramotor can. The way the pumps work is by mixing. Most stations do not have 3 tanks for octane ratings. They have 2. one at lower rating, one at higher. To get the mid rating the two are mixed when pumping. The delivery system and pumps retain a lot of whatever was pumped before you. That remaining fuel in the system must be purged. Hence why you should pump it off into your car first. The industry is well aware of this and have essentially been ripping people off. Hence the class action suits that are ongoing.

Thank you, the pump we get our fuel from is a dedicated rec 90 ethanol free stand alone pump but as you said I imagine it's not as ethanol free as we hoped... thank you for the info and good advise I agree I think the only way to get truly ethanol free is to use the method you recommend.

Hey Scary. I'm looking at Amazon trying to figure out which Filter Funnel you bought. There is a lot to choose from. Can you state the full name of the filter you bought? Or post a picture of the packaging?
