Makeup is for everyone. In the renaissance era men wore pink, wigs, heels and makeup. In fact pink used to be the color for little boys. None of it really matters. Masculine and feminine are just energies that we embody. Keep doing you, cause you are way to cute to let anyone make you feel less!!

When a woman is featured or celebrated for being successful in a male-dominated role, sexist men will come out yelling "WHAT ABOUT THE MEN? God, you never see men doing things anymore." Now, we're doing the same thing? No no no. The point of feminism is supposed to be to *include* women, not to exclude men. As the world becomes more accepting of people of different gender identities, sexualities, and gender expression, we have the choice to support each other and celebrate each other. Lift others up, don't put them down.

Also these women are trying to hide behind we want women when they really mean is they dont want to see men who deviate from society's notion of a man because that makes them uncomfy, which is internalisation of a misogynistic ideal of a man of hes not femme in anyway and if femme bad. When my brother was in pre-k, all the girls were putting on nail polish and painting each others nails and my brother and his little friend group wanted to feel included so they put clear polish on their nails so they didn’t feel excluded. My brother didn’t want the colors but he still didn’t want to be left out. Side note: Clear polish and cleaning your nails are good for your nails, no matter who you are. Now 7 years later, he talks about it and people say oh that’s so horrible, you’re a boy, they shouldn’t’ve put nail polish on you at all. Like dude they were all 5 or 6 years old, it’s better to keep the kids happy with clear polish than to piss them off because they can’t have any at all because they’re boys. They’re children, they wanna do whatever they wanna do and you don’t wanna upset them unless it’s not safe and necessary. I feel like not letting boys wear nail polish is like telling a little girl “you have to wear pink or purple nail polish, if you don’t then you’re acting manly”, like that sounds so obviously ridiculous along with it being ridiculous that boys can’t wear any at all. I loved pink and purple when I was younger, I even had bright pink and purple walls and Dora ceiling paper trim till 2018 when my parents could change it. As I’ve grown older, I don’t like pink any more, I don’t ever have my nails done, I don’t do my hair up, I don’t wear dresses often. My great grandparents have not so inclusive beliefs: they tell my 6 year old cousin that blue and green and red are boy colors and girl colors are pink and purple and I’m just like umm no. My cousin has said “Jai you like pink cause you’re a girl right?” And I’m like no actually I don’t really like pink, blue and green are my favorite colors actually, and he’s like but that’s boy colors and I’m just like no not really. I am not saying in any way that boys shouldn’t wear nail polish, you do whatever you wanna do, it’s not affecting me in any way. If someone doesn’t like it, they should look the other way or not be so uptight.

@@lilpetz500 Makeup was originally mostly for men. They didn't instinctually wear it because of nature, they culturally wore it because of the expectations from society of their role or station. Idk if you're arguing in bad faith just because you rolled out of bed and felt like fighting someone 3 days ago, but the spirit of their argument was that makeup is not really an inherent part of a woman's nature, and that is objectively true. A lot of things in human life are unnatural, like sky scrapers, tennis, faux leather bags etc, so it would be great if people could get it out of their head that "unnatural=bad" or "natural=good" since it's imposing a value judgment without successfully arguing why it's correct to do so. In a VERY roundabout way, most things can be considered part of our nature somehow, but you'll be pretty far removed from a comprehensible dictionary definition of the word at that point.

I understand as a woman we’re starting to feel pushed out of our spaces, but the context is important. Makeup is an art and not health or fashion, which necessitates some form of biological awareness for the function of the item. Like the old saying, you can put lipstick on a pig but I’d like to think even a piglet like me can look sexy in it. As long as one group isn’t shunned and shoved out I don’t find why people would be mad at you. If it was only biological males but marked towards women, I could understand the displeasure because it feels like men once again are telling them what to do. Men can wear whatever they want like women, but there is a balance to everything ❤I’d happily do makeup with my son but I’d be angry if there were ads about makeup for men with all the spokespeople being women. Fun fact! In olden days (like older London days not pharaoh days) makeup was used by a lot of men. As were heels, wigs, and other more female centered things.

The reason why sometimes I’m not very confident with men wearing makeup or woman’s clothes (as a woman myself) is because somehow they look SO MUCH BETTER in any clothes than I do. And the clothes they buy WHERE DO YOU GET THEM FROM PLEASE!!! And the makeup- light years better than any of my shabby attempts.

Aight I love the eye but the lip does not match it to me. It's good for the edge but the eye gives me Zora kingdom elegance and I would love it with a more neutral lip or even a shimmer gloss thats champagne colored. Also I think just having people of all types is good for makeup. Like many skin colors, people of all face shapes, masc, fem, idc. Just people. It helps showcase what the product can do on different types of faces

Yesterday I did my first makeup that wasn't for cosplay and it turned out really pretty. I'm a trans guy so I don't feel too comfortable wearing things traditionally female. But I always wanted to break the gender rules and you helped me gain the confidence to do it. So thank you! Also I got a lot of compliments so it was super nice. (The make up I did was white eyeliner, two starts on the left and one start and one moon of the right and little while freckles as small stars. And I was using this white make-up pencil that I got with the excuse of a cosplay 😂)

True story, my son as young child would play around in my makeups, doing scary makeup, funny makeup, ext.. When he got to be a teenager i got really bad arthritis and found it difficult to do my makeup on days.. Well my son grabbed my maeup bag and started to do my makeup for me, also gave me a pretty good hairstyle for the day too so i could go out. Point is you never know when them playing with makeup and letting them be free to explore could come back to you as a gift. Kindness and understanding breeds kindness and understanding.

I owe a lot to the men who do makeup tbh. They helped me create my own sense of identity although I’m a woman and identify that way but I always walked the line of androgynous style simply because of illness robbing me of my ability to care for my body (in my formative years). As a result I never felt feminine. I had short hair and a boxy frame and Seeing men and non binary people do makeup helped me realize you can create your own identity and don’t have to conform to traditional images of it. You can define what makes you feel beautiful. And that message is a powerful one I pass on to this day and encourage others to live by.I hope you continue doing makeup and when you experience doubt know what you do uplifts others.

I absolutely love hearing about trans men and trans mascs openly expressing the traditionally feminine, and still feeling safe and affirmed as masculine in gender. Like, guys get to be gorgeous and radiant too, and your life shouldnt be this fight to look masculine enough to earn basic respect. Your gender is what you say it is, regardless of how the body looks. 💙🏳️‍⚧️

Do they not realize that a good chunk of not the vast majority of fashion, makeup, Beauty, and clothes were originally made by men for men? Quick history lesson, Heels were first invented in Persia in the 10th century, and they were originally designed for men. “Wealthy men wore them to give them additional height, and when they rode on horseback, the heels clicked into the stirrups,” says Steele. Another historic fact “At the time, makeup was used by Egyptian men to showcase their masculinity. The ancient Greeks and Romans utilized similar techniques. Rogue was used to add color to cheeks, and they painted their faces with powders made from ground-up minerals.
