In this video my community gathered to take part in the 2022 rival of r/place. We managed to hold a large amount of territory because of a top secret weapon that people in my community developed. It was used to pay homage to my favorite community, Newgrounds!

XQC came across like such a twat in this. It's community made art. Saying "it's just pixels" is like spray painting over a communal mural and saying "It's just paint!" to anyone who's pissed about it.
@johngrimm2074

He's saying it's just pixels tk those that sent him death threats over the course of 4 days that was totalling more than what he had ever before combined. Imagine getting more death threats in 4 days, compared to almost your whole streaming career. Saying it's just pixels feel justified. And people keep forgetting that XQc had so many art thag he defends, helps and creates. He just follows the rules of r/place, if it's good it stays, and if it's not its getting replaced. He made the Halo Energy Blade, Widowmaker's ass, Heathledger Joker mural, and Kobe mural, there are some others too. The fight he had with the Osu community was started by the Osu representative that told XQC's community live on stream that his community was weak, of course he's going to attack. There's also instances where he defended the Quebec flag, and made sure that evryone knows its under his protection. There's a bunch of other stuff that people keep glossing over. Sincerely a Mizkif viewer, the negotiator of r/place.

Honestly Ross, you probably picked one of the best spots you could’ve. Being right underneath Rainbow Dash meant that a lot of the attacks on that area got drawn away from you guys. I was a part of the brony faction and I can tell you that we were getting attacked constantly. The RD art sort of acted like a lightning rod redirecting attacks towards it. Plus the fact that RD was ABOVE your art meant that if the void wanted to get to newgrounds they would’ve had to destroy RD first (which wasn’t gonna happen). You may not have been an official ally of the brony faction, but I believe we were still standing strong and keeping your art safe from attacks. Thanks for contributing to r/place in a positive way, and thank you for not attacking other factions and art like what a lot of other streamers were doing.

What happened with France is that team Spain started targeting with griefing their corner saying that they owned too big a spot and we're clearly using bot. Meanwhile, France was legit pulling on their community (ngl was pretty impressive seeing how they managed the pixel placement) and defending their corner best they could. At one point, team America joined team Spain and they kept up the fight the whole duration of r/places. So when the Blankening happened, the Americans and Spanish focused on them to erase the flag as fast as possible. In response to that, team France wrote FR on the higher portion of the grid, as a final Hooray. A brief summary of the France flag battle of 2022 😅

Yea things were bound to get griefed or built over, but they weren’t that extreme… XQC was just destroying whatever they wanted, essentially insulted anyone who enjoy making art, saying that making people angry is the fun of all of this and seeming to expect people to not threaten him when he does all this (yes making any form of threat is really bad and shouldn’t be done at all, but he honestly should of expected to receive some backlash from doing this).

Funny thing is, France wasn't botting. We had a lot of big streamers being coordinated with each other, while you guys had the pixel coordinator weapon we were organizing ourselves as four waves of defense and had an overlay plug-in to know which color to apply where. We were organized by the season of our birth (if you were born in March/April/May you were in the Spring Wave) and had a wave going in every minute and a half or so. We were in war with Spain during the long hours before the end of r/place so when the whitening happened we just got erased by Spain without a chance of a comeback (funny enough, Spain did use bots against us yet we were always fighting back)

The void that attacked dashie was asmongould, the real void was led by a discord chat that was very much organized and actually helped people getting streamer griefed, also the bots all crashed when the color changed to white, that was all user input
@gugusalpha2411
@gugusalpha2411 2 жыл бұрын
I understand that from a outside look, France looks like it used bots, but I assure you, they did not. Basically all the French streamers came together with their communities to defend it, that's why it was so big and strong. If it became white so quickly it's because xQc and spanish streamers were massively attacking the flag for the whole duration of it.

What started as simple mistake turned into a meme, which spawned trolls and from there it was just trench warfare until the white void. I was at work the last day but was happy to see the maple leaf suddenly take shape. Learning it was you was awesome. Thanks for the Help.

I think that the void is super important to keep r/place from becoming all maps and streamer icons. they completely destroy things that have been in place for hours or days, and let new things take its place, if you follow the void, once it passes there's new art decorating around it without it being just flags and companies

the way communities can collaborate on here is amazing! I was helping r/scrapmechanic draw the bearing from the game, but when i started helping, they had already relocated it 5 times because other people kept drawing over it. The 6th time, r/tenseislime had claimed the spot at the same time as ours again, but we were getting sick of relocating, so we negotiated a collaboration. instead of just relocating again, we drew Rimuru (the main character from the anime) sitting on top of the bearing. I was even in charge of "adapting" Rimuru to look like he is sitting on the bearing properly. two communities, one for a physics based sandbox game, one for an anime about reincarnating as a slime, both coming together to make a single piece of art. (if you want to see what im talking about, its right above the pink floyd banner)

@ami6785

Not exactly, they didn’t use an overlay. As it said in the video, viewers went to a URL which would give each of them a colour, coordinates and a link to where it would be placed. The closest to this I have seen is from the Osu community that used an overlay system and told people where to place what where when they were getting invaded (because people for some reason think something that isn’t super popular doesn’t belong…)
