Hey guys, I'm back with another video!! So, in todays video I am actually starting a series I didn't even have on my radar. I have been seeing people freaking out over "The Last Of Us" all over twitter, because it's a new HBO show that actually began as a game. Basically I was very intrigued to see what all the hype was about so here we are.

for anyone who’s missed this detail: the cordyceps epidemic started in indonesia and spread to humans through grain consumption. the old lady eats a bunch of cookies in the beginning, which is how she gets it, but sarah & joel (+ tommy) continuously either refuse or forget (no pancake mix, refused cookies, forgotten cake) which is why none of them are infected :)

I’m so excited for you going into this show COMPLETELY blind! It’s definitely special that a majority of us have played the game and know things to come, but I find it even more special that some of you get to experience it all for the first time and have no idea what’s coming

I think that the way the government handled the child being infected was really good. They didn’t scare him or execute him in a harmful way, they promised him hope. That was he felt safe and happy for probably the first time in ages. Then he died peacefully I like to think, like what happens to pets. They made it so that he had no idea to be scared, so that he could die peacefully rather than losing control of himself and having a painful demise into fungi. But I agree this was super scary the first time haha

ngl I kinda, stupidly, assumed the kid was gonna be a younger flashback ellie because of the red shirt - I didn't even realise he was infected because the woman gave a comforting smile when the detector turned red... then when I saw Joel throwing the kid's body into the fire I was like WHAT alright that's not ellie then

You are gonna love Ellie! The child was infected so the woman tried to make them feel safe and calm while they killed him with that injection. I am so happy and hyped that the series is finally released.

the subtext being that his family/village/group was attacked by infected he somehow escaped the carnage trekked across to the QZ only to be killed anyway :/

joel is a single dad, btw. sarah's mom isn't in the picture--not sure how they'll touch on that in the hbo adaption--but he's kind of just drowning, you know? he's working as hard as he can to provide for his daughter. so he's not a bad dad or anything, he's just freaking tired and working hard to make sure she has a good life! also ik on your patreon you were confused, so his daughter did die lmao

The fact that you're going into this knowing nothing is fantastic - I think that's the best way to get the most out of the story. I’m SOO excited for you to do this omg!!! Just for reference the main difference between typical movie “zombies” and this series “infected” is that zombies are the “living dead” so they die and become the typical brain-eating people you see which is why they rot and deteriorate away…with this series the infected are physically still alive, the fungus has just taken control of their body and mind which is why they don’t rot away they just mutate with the fungus basically…its also more terrifying because this fungus is a real thing that actually infects insects so its not entirely out of the scope for this to happen 😂😂

definitely!! tlou definitely scares me 10x more than the walking dead zombies or the 100 zombies because they are aware of what they are doing but they can’t do anything about it. In the games, you can actually hear the infected crying. And the idea of this happening is not too far fetched, but I think ww3 is gonna take humans out before a fungus does lol.

I love how you jumped in completely blind not knowing it's a zombie show :D Your reactions were hilarious, as always. FEDRA are pretty nasty yes, but the woman was actually kind to the kid, helping them pass peacefully with no idea what was going on. Definitely a gut-wrencher though. And the beginning always makes me cry, both in game and watching it in the series. Great acting indeed! Can't wait to see you watch the 3rd episode

Excellent! Another non gamer reacting. Thanks for putting this out. I personally find these infected so much scarier than undead, because these people are not dead. No undead here. They’re alive, and up to a certain point probably still aware of what their body is doing but still being unable to stop their body from acting on its own.

I watched parts of this video on Thursday, after having a highly emotional day Wednesday, and I was feeling emotionally raw the day after. The parts I saw made me laugh out loud.
