Hey Daniel, if nobody had clarified names and services with insurance and hospitals since this video. The term you used "bezplatnaya" does indeed mean "free of charge" and it actually refers to these shared rooms with 4-6 people in them. This is the basic type of hospital coverage provided by the "free of charge" insurance for residents. The term is for this basic universal insurance is OMS, translates like "mandatory medical insurance". There is also DMS, translates as "additional medical insurance" which in fact gives you access to private room and a few other perks in hospital. DMS is provided by various private vendors and also includes access to private hospitals you mentioned for some procedures, but still each governmental hospital participates in DMS system. Therefore anyone can get referred into a hospital via OMS system and then chose to pay for DMS level service in hospital out of pocket. If you have DMS level coverage in your private insurance and your provider does not have private facility specifically for your treatment, they will refer you to regular hospital with DMS and you pay no extra besides insurance you have from provider.

Too much money corrupts. The cost of living is the most important issue. I totally agree with your point about litigation the compo culture in the west has eroded people's sense of fairness. I had the same surgery in the USA with excellent insurance that covers 100% hospital costs after $300 deductible and 90% of all other costs when in network. I was in ER for 24 hours and hospital for 6 more days. I would not have been there that long but there was a shortage of surgeons and I was too sick not to be in the hospital waiting for an open sugery slot. Due to poor condition sugery was about 5.5 hours -- YIKES! Surgery was fine. Recovery time seemed rushed. Had full blood panels 2x a day the whole time. As soon as my blood tests were minimal accepable kicked me out and sent me home. My cost out of pocket was about $1100. Total medical bills charged, about $82,000, insurance negotialed down the costs. Then I got mad after I reviewed my online tests and medical notes. No wonder I was so sick at home. I had other stuff going on that should have kept me in the hospital. I learned from me and others that hospital visits cover only one emergency at a time while in the hospital. Perhaps your talk about not wanting to get sued is why theyndo not try to fix other problems at the same time? Tuat was July 2022 for reference. My surgery was 8n one of the best hospitals in the US. I tend to choose my medical care based on the quality of accurate billing and recordkeeping of the medical facility.

Had knee surgery about 3 years ago in Virginia. My wife does not drive so our neighbor was kind enough to drive me to the surgery center where "we do outpatient work so YOU DON'T STAY HERE OVER NIGHT" and back again that same evening. Now I was scheduled to meet with the surgeon the next morning at a different location. I drove myself to that appointment by operating the gas and brake pedals with my cane!! What do you think??

You have to go native, learn the language, appreciate the culture and build relationships with the locals. That is the only way to thrive in a country where you choose to live. And you Sir are doing it right by learning the Russian language. Doors of opportunities will easily open up to you.

Life without alcohol is fun, when you have enough entertainment. I am 23. I have no such habits, but I understand that it became something ordinary for most people, to drink after job, to smoke a cig when there are some free time... but for me it's just a bad habit that passively damages your body. I tried to understand both concepts, tried it and never liked it. I recommend finding a hobby to make it easier forgetting about an alcohol. PC games, for example, there is something for everyone. Hope your health got better over those 5 months!
