Let's destroy my bookshelves and unhaul 50+ books in the middle of the night for no reason at all, shall we?

Years ago, my boyfriend and I came up with the exact plot of Dark Matter by Blake Crouch without ever having heard of him or the book. I definitely believe story ideas are their own entity and can go wherever they like if you don't take them first.

Books with memories attached are super hard to let go. I still have the same copy of twilight that I brought my freshman year of high school & I'm a graduating senior in college now. I'll probably never reread it and I'm almost certain i wouldn't enjoy now but 14 yr old me & my best friend were DIEHARDS of the series then

About twice a year I declutter my bookshelf, and my kid's bookshelves. We take them up to half priced books and they give us money for more books. I'm really not sure if that's helpful, or harmful to the cleaning process, but we get pretty excited about it.

I literally got rid of like 200 books not too long ago because I realized that I still remembered the stories but I’d never read them again... so I got rid of them! They were stressing me out and my tastes had changed so much since when I had bought them... I honestly feel so much better and lighter and I feel like I can read new books and genres and it’s so freeing!!

Replica i'm currently reading and I like it so far. I recommend reading one chapter of lyra then one chapter of gemma and keeping switching every time you read a chapter. It makes it interesting so far to me. Falling Kingdoms I really like the first book [gave it 4/5 stars]

I LOVED the "What's Left of Me" series by Kat Zhang. I read it years ago and still think back fondly of it. This is the first video I've seen of your channel so I don't know how much our reading tastes coincide, but I just had to put it out there.

I hadn't thought of 'Anna Dressed in Blood' for years and only vaguely remember it now. Talk about a blast from the past! I just got Undead Girl Gang from my library on a whim (before it closed for now) and I'll probably end up reading it since it won't be long before I run out of books!

I love how every night for the past week I have had this urge to get rid of all my books and this video pops up into my recommended. I've read Trial by Fire and at the time I really loved it, it has parallel universes and witches and magic, highly recommend :)

I agree, I had loads of books I loved as a teen and although I still love them so much and they hold dear to me; I didn't feel the need to hold onto them and I can always borrow them from my local library or even an eBook if I wanted. It was really hard to let them go but I know they will go to someone who will enjoy them just as much I did! There is a few I did keep because they hold a very dear place in my heart but the rest i knew I wasn't really going to read them again.

I recently decided to get back into YA and fantasy after reading adult romance for years. I’d also unhauled and decided to keep the Falling Kingdom books, reread the first 2 or 3 books and continue on. They still interest me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really loved The Flappers series. I got Vixen from a library book store. I read it when I was your age, but back in 2013. It found the trilogy to be a lot of fun, but like you said I’m not 100% sure how it’s aged.

I just read Strange the Dreamer and I was putting it off for a while because I didn’t like the synopsis even after hearing from so many people that it was good but I did end up really enjoying it.

I've read Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini, and I liked it, really like the concept of every decision you make there is a parallel world where you made the other choice and it's just SO interesting idea, but idk if you'll like it because that's the concept but the plot is a sickly girl who gets pulled by her alternative self to parallel world where the decision to burn the Salem Witches instead of hang them spawn them powerful witches who had the ability to firewalk and harness the flames as power. I liked the first two books because I read them back to back, and I feel like I'm a binge reader with series. If I don't read all three, then I lose the mood/momentum and maybe that's why I didn't finish book 3.

Star touched queen, and fallen kingdom weren’t good. I wouldn’t recommend keeping them. I also didn’t like the daughter of smoke and bone series but I LOVED strange the dreamer so I recommend you do give it a chance!

I feel you so much on Marked. I have the first 7 books in the series and I was way into them when they first came out. I started to reread them and am currently on book 5. They get better, but not by much. Just solidly bad books.

I mean it might be because I’ve read this series for over 10 years so I might be biased but I really enjoy the series and the characters. Like it’s an older series so rereading it now kinda problematic but there is still the nostalgia there that I will keep going back to them. Also the novellas are really good soo.

I LOVED Strange the Dreamer! The 2nd book went in a different direction than I thought it would, but it was still good. I read Wrath of the Dawn when it came out due to book tube hype and did not like it.

I've read the entire flappers series very mediocre outside of the setting. I would highly suggest Speak Easy, Speak Love. Similar vibes but more diverse more interesting and an excellent retelling of Much Ado About Nothing.

DUDE. I recently reread Marked because I loved it in middle school and therefore still own a copy, but also knew I would hate it as an adult. And sure enough, it really is one of the worst books I’ve ever read. BUT, now I can never get rid of it because I have such a weird history with it. And also my friends and I are starting a terrible YA book club so that’s going to be on our list 😂

If you are looking for a hard hitting contemporary book, I recommend More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. 👍 I am curious how shipping works in the US. In the Philippines, it is much more worth it to send in bulk because prices range depending on the mass that you will send (e.g. Something like 0-50 kilos is like 200 pesos). 🤔 Truly Devious was underwhelming, not bad, just fine. I will still give Vanishing Stair a chance. I am just not so excited. I am holding on to Twilight (pretty much to all of my books) for now, even if I gave it 1.25 out of 5 stars. Your cats are supah cute. I love my cats as well. 😻🐈🐱

This was painful to watch lol I'm definitely a hoarder when it comes to books. I'd rather have a shelf of books than a framed poster on the wall, so reading aside, it's kind of a decorating decision. Also, I like to keep everything I have read because that is the only way I can remember what I have read and what I have not. I have literally gotten 120 pages into a book before realizing I already read it before! It's horrible.

Hahah I get that about keeping Marked, I absolutely hated Caraval by Stephanie Garber but for some reason will not get rid of it and some dumb part of my brain thought I should read the sequel which was a mistake I'm 23 and am in a similar situation with having old books from when I was 13-14, and they're all angsty teen books that look like absolute garbage ahaha looks like you had much better taste than I did at that time!

tbh if you’re undecided on some of them, you can definitely hold onto them for now. Maybe keep them aside so you have to look at them and as the days pass, you’ll realize which you’d miss if you got rid of them. And for the ones you haven’t read, just think about your excitement towards them. Do you really actually want to read them at some point?
