Yeah it's dangerous once they get some momentum going for sure - I tried to stop an XJ6 from rolling down a fairly shallow incline once, and even 110kg of me couldn't make it slow down much - fortunately I only just got out of the way before it crashed into a brick wall or I'd have been pretty messed up. Learned my lesson anyway, let the vehicle go, you can fix it and whatever ends up stopping it later.

As a former tow trucker driver, I would suggest that if you are going to roll cars off a trailer, roll back until rears are on the pavement, stick chalks under the tires, then drive out from underneath it. Much safer that way. Or add a winch to your trailer.

I mean, just a couple of years ago, five houses from my places a guy got trapped under his car and got stuck there with injuries for ~10 hours until someone passed by. He had both pissed and defecated himself in the shock. Don't be that guy who stands behind the car when it's unloaded.

If they're anything like the 5.7 hemi's that were fitted to the Chrysler 300's here in Australia, it's probably dropped a valve seat or 2 and destroyed the head/s and bottom end in the process....I worked for a shop that specialised in Chrysler's, mainly 300's and this was a common problem, especially if the motor was given a hard time or got hot. Look forward to seeing this build come together, keep up the great work mate.

Change oil and don't over Idle the 5.7 Hemi's,, It is the ECO that causes wear on the lifters on the delete cylinders.Both cranks sere like new. Without the ECO could have who knows how far they go

I think the best one that comes to mind for me, my boss at the time was driving a customers car and ran it out of fuel, this also happened to be a Sunday and on a 40 degree C day. He left to get a jerry can, came back, put the fuel in and in that time there was enough heat soak through the motor it let go of valve seat, he fired it up and bang, bang, bang, lol. Listening to him trying to explain this to the customer and supposed good mate was priceless...😁 He span a heap of BS, tried throwing me under the bus in the process and dragged the job out for months, the car only came in for some minor work...I was asked point blank what happened by the customer, who I actually got along with quite well and I told him. The last thing I heard was this customer was gonna take him to the cleaners and rightfully so...forgot to mention, this customer just so happened to also be a Sergeant in the Victorian Police.

Do the 300S run the Pentistar 3.6L V6 in Australia? If so, are there any bolt-on performance parts you’d recommend? Not a lot of stuff here for it. I know Australian car folk aren’t exactly displacement specific, y’all will tune anything, had to ask. If I had the internet back in 1996 like we have today, I would have kept my 1966 Belvedere II (Plymouth Satellite “luxury” spec) and ordered a bunch of performance parts for the leaning tower of power inline 6 it had. Hearing those old in-line 6 engines tuned and massaged sounds like a cross between a Hemi V8 and a 2JZ, such a cool sound
@RoB_666_
@RoB_666_ 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, yeah they do. As for performance stuff...there were a couple of companies playing around with basic tunes, exhaust, cold air stuff, nothing I could recommend with any confidence as we never had anyone come in for anything like that on the gasoline 6's. It was mainly the v8's and believe it or not, the diesel/turbo 6 variant. Alot of performance/styling oriented stuff was coming outta the UK, if memory serves me right.

They use red lights onboard ship interiors at night, because it helps preserve night vision. Cop cars might do the same thing with that red dome light. But I like the Red Light District reference, which was based on railroad guys letting their buddies know where the party was. The railroaders often found themselves in strange towns overnight, looking for a place to eat and sleep. Because they were cheaper than inns and hotels, they usually looked for an obliging lady who had a room with a bed to let for the night. Sometimes, along with the bed, meals, beverages, music, and other comfort services were offered. Often these were single or widowed ladies with limited resources who found themselves living in the same poor neighborhoods and districts. When there were several such ladies offering their services in the same area, railroad lamps lit red in the front windows of homes and apartments up and down the streets, and they came to be known as Red Light Districts.

I just rewatched the movie the other night. I still love the movie, but I did notice a few things that irritated me a bit: Warning Spoilers 1. With the custom Mustang being the poster car of the movie, I wish they had shown the car being built. It was nothing but an engine, chassis, and wheels at first then it jumps to the finished car. 2. During the “Grasshopper” maneuver scene, the stunt car used stock rims and the axle width was thinner so the fenders jutted out 3 inches from the face of the wheel. Then it magically changes back to the lovely custom rims. Other than these little peeves, it’s a fun movie with incredible cars.

Back your trailer up to a tree or something solid you can hook a chain/rope to. Hook the chain/rope to the tree and then to the vehicle you are taking off the trailer with as little slack in the chain/rope as possible. Put the vehicle on the trailer in neutral, get in your truck and slowly pull forward and the chain/rope will keep the vehicle on the trailer in place while you are pulling the trailer out from underneath of it. I backed up a slight hill to a tree so the chain held the truck in place after it was off the trailer. Safest way I could think of when I had to unload my truck by myself.

You keep saying parts are unobtanium but have you ever tried actually going to a junkyard and getting them? A 30 second search showed me 7 2008 Chargers with full parts availability at my local yards. There were 466k first gen Chargers built....junkyards are littered with em so im calling shenangins on your claim of not finding parts.

Jared is such a 'stand-out' guy. It kills me to think what he goes through for some of this crap. Please stay sane Jared! And don't let the 800 lbs gorilla under the hood take advantage.

That the Charger looks Small when Jared stands behind it to slow its roll, shows you how big he is...6' 8'' and probs 250lbs....We all love him cos he's got that Gentle Giant thing going...tho I bet he's scary if he ever loses his temper!!
