Cool pickup! The older lady was focused on the Ruth signature but Ruth was dead by 1952 so the real value there is with the Connie Mack auto which will command a nice premium once authenticated. Mack would have been already 90 years old at the time of that signing. He died 4 years later, in 1956. Good luck!

We just had some massive fires in my neck of the woods. I was surrounded by fires and a buddy lost his home and most of his vehicles, also ended up getting life flighted to a burn unit with 2nd degree burns over %30 of his body. When people come in with items you don't care to buy- like the bills here or the phone in an earlier video- it's cool when you're at least able to refer them on to someone else. It may help a fellow businessman, and more importantly it'll put a positive ending on an interaction with a customer who you've had to turn away.

I was stationed at Ft Bragg for 5 years. Ft Bragg is in Fayetteville and I can confirm this story (at least that is the local lore). There used to be a restaurant called Darryl’s 1914 in honor of that home run event. All Darryl’s restaurants had a date after the name commemorating some local event. Then the restaurants were all decorated in that theme. So the one in Fayetteville had all the baseball theme. Back in the 80s that was one of my favorite hangouts. It had a bar with a great happy hour (it was called the 5 o’clock munch). Every day it was fro 5 to 6 was 2 for 1 drafts and $2 well drinks and then a different food offering every day.
