Hope For Paws - Official Rescue Channel

This rescue took an unexpected turn! From a hot, dry, desert rescue to a cold, wet, water rescue!
I headed north to this rescue after receiving a call from Daniel Eppard about an abandoned dog in Central California. He spent a long time trying to gain his trust, but had no luck.
When I asked him about the exact location, he told me it was next to the National 9 Inn hotel. I decided to call the hotel manager to get more details, and he was super helpful!
I waited for 6 hours for Ghost to appear, and when I finally saw him, I knew this was not going to be easy!
I was so lucky to meet Jan (a guest at the hotel) and Samantha (who works at the hotel) - they both made this rescue possible with their amazing assistance. ❤️❤️

Both women were wonderful. The young lady who went into the water and help push him into the cage was so gentle and reassuring to Ghost that he wasn't aggressive towards her, she had the ability to show no fear only compassion.

I have been a long-time fan of this guy & Hope For Paws (HFP) for the amazing work they have done over many years on a daily basis. I greatly respect his/HFPs compassion & commitment to the animals they rescue; & whilst I don’t mean in anyway to devalue his/their efforts, in this clip, I must confess to being a tad bit frustrated that he just didn’t simply jump in the pool & grab the doggo - though I do understand that he may have been concerned about the possibility of a bite or perhaps had another valid reason for not doing so. Having said that, I would like to thank him & HFP on behalf of the many animals they have rescued & found homes for over the years. Well done team. Keep up the good work. The world needs more compassionate & caring people like you all. 👍♥️

Eldad, your patience in waiting, scanning the the desert for so many hours waiting for Ghost to show up is just amazing! What a blessing that kind Jan agreed to help, even jumping in the pool! @@laurafinkelstein9181 There has been a video or two when I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a magnetic sign on his car door. I don’t know any more than that, but Eldad has been doing this for a lot of years - maybe a decade or so. He has gone into some dangerous areas of Los Angeles to conduct rescues; he is no novice venturing into the wild. With all that experience comes an ability to read people as well. He doesn’t give animals away, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to. He has a large network of rescue groups that he works with to care for the animals until they are ready for adoption. It’s not an informal operation by any means.

Thanks for helping these two lovelies! We are in the midst of desperately trying to provide relief to our local strays. It is going to be 116 degs again today. We are putting out giant bowels of ice water and wetting down and putting ice out on the shaded cement patio areas and running the lawn sprinklers multiple times a day (oh our water bill will be atrocious!) to try and bring the surface temps down for the stray cats and the birds, who are suffering, too. The animal control people will pick up any dogs, but they won't collect kitties, so they suffer a lot.

I feel like we as a society talk a lot about the impact of changing climate extremes on the environment and on humans, but maybe the impact on animals is something that doesn't get nearly as much awareness...? 😢 Thank you for working to change that, too!
