This is awesome. It's great for preservation, especially for future disc-based consoles if the disc goes out (which can give errors updating or re-flashing firmware) that if you leave on older firmware can be jailbroken (when one comes out) and used as a digital console to play your 'games you own on disc' (hopefully you dumped your disc games and backed them up to a hard drive ;))

Can you pull the data from the daughter board to find out the serial number if the serial number is unknown?

How long time does it take before you can remove the pieces and what temperature in C? I have been trying several times now, but it won't be removed. I'm afraid that it could be broken too because i have attempt it so many times now.

Good thing sony still not encrypting bios. Not sure why through all there consoles there is still a vulnerability in there firmware which can allow for an exploit. Yah those speakers are delicate there called a pizo

I'm gonna be honest, I don't like this modification, you are turning the console to the worst version there is, which is the digital edition in my opinion. Other than that you did a wonderful job.

I agree but when there's no other option to get the console working again that's what has to be done. The console was sold without the disc drive anf that's needed to update the system
