Teenagers always become ashamed of there parents no matter what which leads to lots of different things at those moments. I start hating how my parents always wore simple clothes even though we have a good stable life but in later years i realised how stupid i was. I practically ignore my father because of his dress and he felt very sad about it but at those time i didn't realise it but years later i felt ashamed of my behaviour i apologies to him despite knowing they didn't even remember it. We always thought that someone else life is good until we didn't get to know there flaws.

Be thankful for the parents you do have

I think a follow up episode is needed. Lily apologizes to her dad for how she's treated him. When he asks what brought that change, she mentioned a wise person made her see life differently. This being Alice, whom she later apologizes for her behavior. Lily admitted she was right and was nothing more than a narcissistic brat. She blamed her father's poor job as a taxi driver for being impoverished because of the bullying she endured growing up from her peers and it made her quite resentful. However, Lily never realized how hard he worked to provide for them and thus, making her feel guilty over it. Alice tells her it's going to take some time to forgive her for her earlier behavior. Lily tells her that she understands better and there's more to life than wanting a rich lifestyle. She encourages Alice and her mom to leave her dad and mentions they deserve better. The next day after the contest ended, although Lily didn't win, she was proud of herself for making the effort to change. A new kid, Alex, comes to her school and like her came from a lower background. However, his backstory is similar to that of Alice's own, except his mom was cheating on his dad with different men. Alex is jealous of everything Zack had and wanted his life. Lily soon sees herself in him and tries to stop him from being what he's not. However, when Alex refuses to listen, she realizes he's not going to give up his perceived ideals of perfection. That night after a fight with his dad, Alex attempts to make Zack's father, his own. He is foiled by Alice who tells him off that he's a horrible person for what he done. She knew what it was like to feel like she's not good enough for a person because of how her dad treated her and her mom. Alice tells Alex off that Lily told her everything he was doing and needs a reality check. Watching the two girls walk away, he heads back home where his dad throws him out of his home. After finding out how ungrateful Alex was to him, the dad tells him off he can g live with his mom and her side guys. 2 years later, Alice and Lily have become true friends. Her mom had been a lot happier since the divorce and is dating a wonderful man whom treats her as a real dad. Lily finds a real boyfriend in Caleb(Zack's brother) whom had feelings for her, but was never able to approach her. She realizes she needs to be herself more and not someone else. Because his mom refused to pay for his schooling, Alex ended up having to work hard to pay for the tuition himself and regretting how he treated his dad too late.

Alice is a terrible friend. She snobs her friend knowing full well she is poor and never conforts her when upset. And when Lily try to confort her she is a horrible and kicks her out. Much characteres who have everithing are like this, the great part turns a blind eye for friends who are suffering from low self steem and they never get karma.

Wealth is not everything. Be grateful for what you have because whatever's be taken for granted will eventually be taken away. I may not be rich aka middle class but im grateful because i have everything i need despite many problems im facing.
