Please don't belittle someone's experiences when you don't know the full story. Traumatic events happen in different severities. It doesn't matter how big or small the trauma is but rather how much of an impact it leaves on the nervous system and how the person experiencing it can cope with it. Some people experience many little traumas throughout their lives whereas some go through one big traumatic event. The severity of the traumatic event isn't what matters but rather how it impacts their life moving forward. That's why traumas are never categorized by the severity of the event but one's reaction to it.

My best tip that I didn’t learn until much later in my routine Is to scoop the front peices of your hair up with a claw clip and clip it while it’s air drying so that when your hair drys, it will have a lot of volume and root lift. It’s going to look insane when you take the clip off, but trust me it calms down a bit when you scrunch out your gel cast and in general just fluff out your hair and roots.

The key to curls is the drying process. When you wash your hair and get out the shower add curl cream to your hair and with let it air dry. If you’re going to use the diffuser try not to point the dryer straight up at your hair so it doesn’t cause flyways. Try not to touch your hair too much while its still wet since it causes frizz. If your curls are frizzy while your hair is wet, it will get once once your hair dries.

here is my non-fussy wave/curl routine! my hair is more fine (not thin, but fine) like yours. I use the Not Your Mother’s curl talk shampoo and conditioner or just Olaplex shamp/condish in the shower and leave my hair pretty sopping wet when I get out- generally, if there is frizz when it’s wet, there will be when it’s dry too. “Plop” in a microfiber towel or cotton t shirt for 10 mins, then rake through a curl cream (Not Your Mothers, or VERB) and brush with the Denman brush. Turn head upside down and “glaze” using prayer hands with gel or mousse (I prefer gel, Not Your Mother’s or AG) over hair then scrunch by gently bringing the hair up towards the scalp, firmly squeezing your palm and gently letting it back down. After that, flip back up and try to touch your hair as little as possible during the drying process. I gave a very in depth description lol but after showering this all takes me under 10 mins. Let me know if you want to know more about brush styling the individual curl clumps! But that gets pretty fussy lol. Manes By Mel has lots of great product recommendations and styling tips, but her hair is a lot more coarse than yours so she tends to use a lot more products and get super ringlets. I find I get the best result with more conservative amount of product so the hair isn’t weighed down. Enjoy this novel from an enthusiastic curly girl!

As an Asian surrounded by straight haired people and with a family that has straight hair, I always thought something was wrong with me. Cause I had super straight hair when I was a child and it started becoming frizzy and poofy when I started college. So I just did straightening treatments cause I thought it was easier. But I am also trying to unlearn being straight hair and trying to embrace my curls. Haven't found a routine that works for me yet, so the journey continues. 😊

I have been styling my hair curly for 2 years now and I would say, know your hair texture (you can search up how to) and style your hair accordingly, use products meant for curly hair, always diffuse, too much scrunching creates frizz, detangle with conditioner on wet hair in the shower, shampoo and condition 2-4 times a week for wavier looser curls

NOU (next of us) hair products at Walmart. I was the same in high school because of mean girls. I use the shampoo followed by the leave in conditioner with a splash of water in it. I wish I would have known how back then, I hate ironing my hair.

I usually do about 8-10 on each side. Then gel and gently scrunch and hairspray and air dry or diffuse (gently). My curls look like they are done with an iron but last for days! Good luck!
