I'm trying a new goal of making $10,000/month from playing poker and content creation, and I'm showing you guys all of it. This is the final 24 hours of January 2024; we're $600 away from our goal; let's see if we can do it.

Well done, Brantzen! That was a fun ride. I'm glad it ended with you reaching your $10k goal. Speaking of the goal, the goal in the top corner is a nice addition. For me, I think it adds a layer of intrigue because obviously, we like to see you succeed, and it's almost like an indirect sweat for us. Oh, and lastly, impressive laydown with the KQo. I try to have the same attention to detail, but I'm trash at poker. I would've called flopped the K and got taken for a couple hundred bucks.

Watched this one with my son and we were both laughing. Well done on hitting your goal. I must say, and I’m sure you know it, that the income distribution for poker is not consistent, so not sure about trying for a flat 10k a month is the way to go

I think it’s something you have to mentally accept if you’re gonna play poker - you’re gonna be card dead sometimes, sometimes you’re gonna run hot with good cards. But the ranges you play shouldn’t change, and try not to give in to your “bored” mind. Try to just realize that eventually it’ll pass

Hmm - I don’t think so much at my usual stakes, but definitely when I play big stakes on a livestream or something. Definitely get overexploited on the bluff side

I try to fold a lot of hands. And when my cards show up on the board and I see I woulda won if I didn’t fold it takes everything in me not to tell the table I fled the winning hand. It happened 3 times last week.

Probably 95+% of the poker players, aka your viewers, know in a poker session, average over 4-5 hours, most of your hands will be trash and unplayable (unless you are DK playing on Hustler’s live stream), so there’s really no need to show those. Every now and then an interesting hand comes up that’s worth recording. The most interesting hands, imo, are the ones that you outplay your opponent(s) to win the pot rather than losing if played “regularly”.

For me it just came down to the direct math. I needed 28.5% equity or more for it to be a profitable call which isn’t a ton, but with one card to go I think I barely have that equity even if all my draws were live. If he had a set, straight, or pair plus higher flush draw, it would be pretty negative EV

Dude are you a poker pro or a nit misreg? If you are going to do this seriously you need to put in hours and do more than just bumhunt. Seems like all poker vloggers got into this job not realizing what they were signing up for.

Well I categorize myself as less of a pro and more of a profitable player who maximizes profitability through game selection. But yeah - the ultimate goal is to make the majority of my income through sponsorship and not from poker playing, like it currently is
