For those who are new to Austin Evans channel, this is what Austin videos used to be like, informative and educational, he has now changed to make more entertaining and fun videos which I personally like, but it's always nice to see the old Austin back from time to time!

Honestly it seems they're just generally improving their laptops a lot more than the typical year-by-year upgrades we've seen in the past. Nice to see though I literally just bought a 2023 Zephyrus G14 lol

I got a laptop about 5 years ago and I got it as a senior in high school to use for University. I decided to get a laptop with a GTX 1050 and a high powered Intel CPU so that I could game in my free time without having to bring a gaming desktop with me to school. The laptop that I got was the Dell G3 15 3579 and after I put a NVME SSD and 32GB RAM into it, it has actually suprised me and I actually used it as my main PC with an extra monitor for 3 years. It also played games really well for 1080p. since then I've used a Dell XPS 8910 office desktop with a GTX 1650 Super and then I finally built my own gaming PC. Since I'm not really gaming on this laptop anymore, it still works really well for a work computer because of the high powered CPU that is still a pretty good CPU in 2024 (8th gen Intel Core i5 8300H, SSD, and 32GB RAM. The main problems is that it's a heavy laptop with only a 2 hour battery life (even when I'm not using the GPU) and it has a large power adapter that still uses the dell barrel connector. I have been really looking for a lighter laptop with better battery life and maybe even USB-C for charging. I have been saving up money and I just want a CPU that will still be good in 5 years and upgradeable RAM and SSD. Any suggestions for a laptop with these specs and around $1000?

Honestly, I don't care if your videos come a bit late, because they're always top notch. 😜 Lenovo definitely is making some really cool laptops, the yoga book for example. It's like a dual screen tablet, with a keyboard that you can place on it, and it runs Windows 11 well, along with a arsenal of software. I can see this being especially useful for artists, with a reference on the top, and sketching on the bottom.

This video felt like we watched Austin mature right in front of us. Usually he's on level 10, loud, playing around, etc. But here he's calm and it just feels like we see him realize times have changed, for better or worse. It's not all about the gaming laptops anymore, a lot of us are older now and have to think about work, business, etc.

Hey Austin, do you think you could make a video with gaming laptop suggestions? I'm disabled and gaming in bed or on the couch is where I'm most comfortable. A big desk just isn't practical for me. There are so many options, and I trust your advice more than tech blogs that get paid to advertise all the products they suggest. Thank you in advance if you decide to! :)

Thanks for the review. I like this laptop; but I wish you had reviewed the Yoga 9i in more detail. I wish you had covered some of its hardware stats. For example: 1. How much internal memory does it have? n. Can its internal memory be upgraded? Apps take up memory and processing power. The amount of memory, for example, gives me an idea of how many apps I can be running at the same time. Normallly, these would be apps that compliment each other. They could be video processing apps. The more internal memory the laptop has, means the less work the OS has to do, swapping out memory to the harddrive and reloading it, as we switch apps we are using. And this contributes to how hot the laptops gets because the OS is pushing it to do more work. Also, given the ports, how many monitors can I connect to this laptop? And how hot does the laptop get, across a number of use cases? For example: 1. When running the laptop unconnected. n. When running the laptop connected to one monitor and a phone and/or a Samsung tablet? n. When running the laptop connected to maybe two monitors and a phone? Does it get hot? How does running with with a Samsung tablet affect it's battery life, for example. Etc... There are a lot of things you did not cover; but thank so much for the topics you did cover! Mark

@austinevans Did this newer 2.8k 120hz Oled panel have the same Screen Door Effect like previous generations and a lot of other touch related OLED screens? Because that was the thing that was bothering me most in previous generations. Apart from that since 12th it is a great device with a great keyboard!!! This is especially noticible on white & gray background and lite colours. And for some like me very annoying!

I actually look forward to learning more about this laptop. I want to see the comparison videos with the latest Gen 12 ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Furthermore, I want to learn whether there were any significant upgrades to the laptop I am typing this comment on: the X1 Nano. I hear you and agree with most of what you said. But dual-screen laptop is a gimmick IMHO.

any chance you ever reviewed it against the 2023 model? I got the 2023 at the end of December. Absolutely love the device, but my battery life is atrocious. I get no more than 4 hours of battery. I run it on energy saving mode with less than 40% brightness. Other than that, i'm so happy with the screen, weight, speakers and beautiful screen.

so this week micro center service desk wanted to rip me off for $250. they wanted to open up a 4th gen i7 computer I brought there, that was already working just fine, they wanted to open it and diagnose my build, for no reason. and then refused to sell me the 2 parts I asked for when I said I could do it all myself. I was very discouraged by this guy who told me not to take my build out of the dell case, for a case with 6 fans, and to put a real power supply on it.. it was 6 hours driving total and the dude told me they couldn't help me get the two little parts I need to put a working build into a case so it would still post. anyone else have this experience with micro center??
