First video on the 1979 2000-series 1/32 scale toy soldiers from Atlantic.
Starting the series with the Guns, Canons and Rockets.
Quality and sculpts are more towards Marx green army men then Airfix toy soldiers.
I loooove Atlantic toy soldiers even with all their shortcomings.

I’m smiling at the thought of the operation of the quad AA/trailer combo. I’m thinking that the trailer/farm cart would have literally fallen apart on firing or at least possibly the recoil would mean that they ended up a half mile from where they started😂 I’m new to your channel (so glad I found it), and the Atlantic brand, it’s strange how the boxing suggests a level of “quality” but the sculpting/accuracy is more akin to the content of the of the little green men play sets that you can buy at the seaside.

Different colors in this plastic depends largely on the concentrations of the inorganic stiffeners added to the plastic. Early 1960's plastics could contain all sorts of harmful elements like Cadmium, Chromium, Arsenic and so on. By the later 19070's toy manufacturers were beginning to reduce or eliminate the levels of these additives and find new ways to maintain plastic flow into the molds. That meant using more Calcium, Aluminum, Titanium, Zinc and Barium. I can estimate the time of manufacture date of propylene plastics by their trace element concentrations from these additives. Cheers, and yes I am a chemist.

I can see how maybe that could make two shades of blue but not blue and green. That just has to be up to what color plastic the buy and cast in.

Another remarkable video. I believe I've said it earlier in one of your other videos or shorts - you should start a museum. I wonder how many other collectors could start one... Overall quality reminds me why I had chosen for Airfix and a few Matchbox figure sets instead of Atlantic. I cannot remember how widespread Atlantic's availability was in the Netherlands in the 1970s, though it seems Atlantic had more additional soft plastic guns than Airfix had. Btw way the English subtitles say ''Deutsche Africa Corps"' which should be Deutsche Afrika Korps of course.

I don´t know if they were ever sold in the UK. Here in Sweden I don´t think they were. But sometimes smaller importers and distributors only sold in a smaller region. When we used to go to the south of Sweden in the summers there were a lot of toys that my local toy store did not have.

I think I had the sailor set of soldiers in dark blue. They were 'sort of' 1:32 scale - would have been a foot taller than Matchbox and Airfix 1:32 scale soldiers in real life. Never played with them much. Beside being too big I could never convince myself of a believable battle set up between them and the rest of my soldiers.

Interesting problem, the Atlantic molds. The keyword to that question (one of the keywords, at least) is "Nexus", a company who purchased many Atlantic molds, including the "revolutions" series. I bought a "Russian revolution" set by Nexus many (oh, so many) years ago... here are some maybe useful links, maybe not, ... www.atlanticmania.com/EN/Storia.htm imagorecensio.blogspot.com/search/label/Atlantic

Do you have any sets of soldiers from a company called "expeditionary force"? Sometimes called "x force". They are very detailed and even the boxes are cool. For example the ww2 us infantry box is a olive green with a white star. And the Japanese sets have a rising sun flag with katana sword. I have a good many sets from this company and use them for a ww2 combat strategy game me and a few friends play. Some pieces require using glue though. The heads and arms are separated and require being glued in place but you can mix up the different heads and limbs and weapons so that most soldiers will be unique instead of all looking exactly the same. You would probably enjoy the sets from that company. They are around 20-30 dollars for a squad sized unit, sets vary from 9 to 12 soldiers in each set. I'm not sure what other time periods or wars they make sets of but they have many nice ww2 sets. They are all 1/32 scale. Also does anyone know a company that makes US and North Korean/Chinese commie figures in 1/32 scale? Plenty of ww2 era figures around but I want to put together some sets from the Korean war era 1950-1953.

From George. How about a multy coloured version blue and green. It seems that was sometimes the way. While I had some Airfix soldiers I did also collect lots of the copied versions of German infantry that were green. But they were found easier at local shop in a plastic bag. Also cheaper priced. I'd buy them from a chemist strangely. Places close to where I lived in 1970. Others would be in news agency.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️

Just the German infantry, American, British, German Afrika Korps, German mountain troops maybe once of those.
