I think you've been doing great, was kind of a lull waiting for the series from your trip to come out. I too swapped out a 3.3 Devine swimbait in the ghost rose on a 1/4 oz head and got some good bites on it.

Black and blue sinkos works Great there....I hooked a 12+ there a few years ago on a crank.... didn't get her in....but seen and caught multiple 7 and 8+ out of there

I prefer throwing a clear or more transparent bait, especially Topwater. I feel like I can get away with throwing a bigger bait, especially a walking type bait. A bigger bait is easier to work and and more accurate to cast.

Since you're in TX now..... You should try lake Naconiche and Lake Nacogdoches. They're both pretty good and pretty close to each other

YES. been crushing em up here in northern MN on lures like that. be sure to check the DNR's site to see what baitfish is dominant (i fish a lake with smelt, so i use a silver/white color). this time of year, fish are suspended, but they concentrate on spots that they can push bait against, like shelves and cliffs. you might have to weed through some smaller fish, but you'll get some big fish too. i had a 17 pound bag of smallies on a little swimbait last week.

What kind of line do u throw a 2-4ish ounce glide bait on? Right now I’m using 25lbs floro. But it makes me nervous throwing $70-$100 bait. I got lucky and the 1st fish I caught on a Chad shad snapped the line shortly after I landed it. So since then haven’t fully the floro with that much money on the end of my line.

I always wondered about the skinny fish problem. I recently caught a 23.5 inch bass that weighed 4.36 pounds…..it should have about double that weight.

Get tested yes, but I disagree with stay home. Just stay away from people and stores. But to get outside in the fresh air on a boat where he's isolated is probably the best thing for him

@@jeffpeterson1660 when me and my wife and kids had it, my work made me stay home for 10 days cause my wife's a nurse and the hospital made her stay off for 10 days. I got 10 straight days of kayak fishing in. I told my boss I might catch it again next April.
