I got rid of them ALL in my truck engine and console in a parking lot by simply blasting the car stereo at full blast for about ten minutes. It worked, they all ran out and never came back.

I couldn't catch mice for the longest utilizing traps. Then, I did some research and found out that mice have sensitive noses and can detect human scent when you touch traps with your bare hands. So, I used gloves the second time around and it worked like gangbusters.

It's NEVER just one mouse! 🐭

Just a tip for Irish spring users... You don't necessarily have to replace the bars, you can just shave off the dry stuff and unless they've been sitting for months, there should be plenty of fresh soap still inside the bar. You can cut them up if you'd rather not shave them. I personally use a cheese grater and sprinkle the shavings around plants and corners of my stick and brick house if I'm worried about fritters.

I have a 100 year old house in a farming community, I know about rodents. The cheapest and least toxic idea I had, that works, is use a paint sprayer full of bleach and spray under the house on the dirt, spray around the house on the dirt, and it does smell like you have a very clean house when done. For an RV remove everything from the cabinets and baseboards, leave cabinet doors open, put a few bight lights under the RV at night, then go inside without the lights on inside and every little hole and cranny will be lit up and you can hit it with foam or steel wool and screw mesh over the steel wool. If you do use sticky traps be ready with a shovel to put it out of its misery quickly. I tend to use barrier methods and bleach.

I laced some peanut butter with some LSD. While it didn't keep them away, we became one with the cosmos.

One weekend we took the motor home out...had a dish of Rolo's on the dining table. Next morning, the dish was empty, thought the dog figured how to get on the table. Watched her the next day carefully for chocolate poisoning...nothing! Got home emptied the RV out, noticed something under the sleeper sofa in the livingroom. Pulled it out...all the Rolo's were stashed under it! Well, game on! Since the liked them and the caramel is super sticky...I wrapped spring traps with the plundered loot! Within 15 minutes on 3 traps I had killed 10 adults...now I had to find the nests. Cleared everything out, found nests and disposed of those, set traps up for next 2 weeks...no more victims! Chocolate attracts...caramel holds them! Didn't have a cat at the time!

I just got rid of my mouse problem.. found a nest in my battery box. Peppermint, garlic and clove oil mix sprayed every few days has kept them away. The only trap that worked was a bucket half filled with water, baited with peanut butter, with a piece of wood for them to run up. I also now have 2 kittens. 🙂

Clorox. We keep a couple open bottles around our cabin. It has always worked. It will also keep bears away.

Anyone with a trailer of any size will eventually know what you've gone through! We've had mice in all our rigs and we've found that they mostly came in via the lines that are under the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen. Those lines go down or through and then out and they are not secured with anything and there's always a small gap left by the manufacturers. The first time we found mice they'd made their way under the bathroom sink and had shredded 3 rolls of TP to haul away and make nests with! I wonder if spraying some peppermint oil mixed into a spray base would help? Thx for testing all the products you bought---good information to know.

To help with outside, fill a 5 gallon bucket about 1/3 full of water. Smear peanutbutter inside the bucket, about 4 or more inches below the rim. Place a stick ramp from the ground to rest on the top rim of the bucket. Mice will climb the ramp, go for the pb, fall in and drowned. We've done this and have found several drowned mice in the am. Hopefully, it will help keep mice from going into your truck.

Once again thanks for all the info! I did want to mention one thing. The old fashioned Snap Traps will work just fine but you must be vigilant to set them very “loosely” or the mice get in and never trip them. We always do throw away trap and all when they catch one because they say the next mouse could smell the other dead mouse. We live in the country and they always try to get in in the fall when temps start to drop. Happy trails.

When we had a pet shop, we used to have infestations of mice from time to time - they came in with the hay and straw that we sold for bedding. We found that the humane traps worked best with... chocolate. They LOVE chocolate. We used the dog choc drops and biscuits, so not even 'good' chocolate. You also want to be sure that when you release the mouse, you do so 2-3 miles away from your home, or it will just come back, because it knows it has food and shelter there. Thirdly, make sure you have no food around that encourages it - not a crumb. You have seen what they did to your dash, so don't even keep food in plastic containers or they'll eat right through. Keep your food in glass or metal containers... and that includes the cat food! If there's no food around it will make it less attractive for them and they'll move on. Hope you are now mouse free and remain that way! Just glad that here in the UK we don't have the snake problem!

OMG each time I have been stationary for more than a month or two I have had rodents! One was between my screen and outside door. Scared the crap out of me. Others have chewed on various...of course ones I liked...items. There is an opening under my generator in the rear of the trailer where you can see to the ground...they come up into the tack room (horse trailer), sneak over the top of same room as there is an open section near the roof and wander wherever they want. No food is ever left out. You would think with four cats this problem would not exist. Yes, stationary makes you a target. The worst was they were overhead scratching in the bed area! I BANGED on the ceiling for months. Did the steel wool/foam spray around a gap in the nose of the trailer and after a while nights were peaceful again. ARRRGGGGGHHHHH

Bought a used mobile home in the 1990s, it had a field mouse infestation, biggest mistake of my life was to use poison. We had dead mice in the walls, rotting and stinking for the entire summer. It was so horrible, we had to sleep outside. Tore up the walls and vent system to try and get them out. Never again!!!

I had mice problems on my last RV . They literally ate my spark plug wires completely naked . Found out they were made of plant materials. I had a mechanic tell me to put moth balls around the engine and engine compartment also around the inside . Never had anymore mice problems . New Subscriber 👍

A tip to anyone using snap traps... I had the issue of my bait being taken or licked off without them setting the traps off. Most snap traps have a little groove that is actually for the bait. Use crunchy peanut butter, break up a peanut and shove it in there. They will be determined to get that peanut out and will then set off the trap. Also, note that snap traps have different sensitivity settings and you should always set them to the most sensitive setting (usually by putting the bar either all the way to the left or right, read your trap figure that out).

CREATIVITY RV: I watched your videos (subscribed). I know you have tried many things, and have gotten many suggestions. If I were you, I would take my cat's litter box (where cat urinates) and spread it around the wheels of your 5th wheel's wheels, or below (on the ground) where you think the mice are entering. I would not use fragrant (artificially scented) litter mix, just use unscented so it won't compete with the cat urine smell. Let the mice smell the cat urine. since you will be gone for long period (days/weeks), this may help reduce the mice willingness to crawl into your rig. You could also make "sachets" to hang near the likely entry points. But, I think spreading some around each tire or contact with the ground is the best thing. The reason I suggest this instead of "peppermint", Irish Spring, or other suggestions, is because animals are sensitive to natural enemies, and I suspect the mice will recognize the cat urine smell as more threatening to them than dryer sheets, or other things that humans find fragrant. Also, I have seen people suggest things they have heard about (anecdotes are not really good evidence of efficacy) that smell GOOD to humans. That is likely just making the people feel good about doing something (placebo), and it smells 'pleasant." Finally, I had to use glue traps inside a trailer I stayed in, and in one night 3 field mice were caught. Best to use those things when you are present to kill them and dispose of them. If you are gone for long time, they will die and stink up your rig. Good luck.

I’m terrified of mice and rats. I wish I could adequately describe the terror. I’m not a coward in other areas of my life. I’m hyperventilating while I watch this video. During Covid shutdown I didn’t drive my car for quite some time. Mice destroyed my wiring, my airbag, lots of stuff. Took a couple of thousand to fix, and I still don’t have a working airbag. So, I feel your pain. Thanks for the tips. Good luck!

Such a great discussion. I love the idea of using loud music. We get critters in our attic every winter. I’m like a crazy lady banging and yelling at the ceiling! The bucket traps work well but are nasty to empty. Can also put antifreeze in there instead of water when freezing temps. Also loved the tip about wearing gloves when baiting traps.

We covered the inside of every vent with galvanized mesh. Every hole inside and under belly has spray foam in it..even along the frame and siding were cracks were. Im too old to scrub the camper from top to bottom just because mice decided to visit.

A mouse infestation is no time for compassion. Get a half dozen mouse traps and keep setting them until the mice are whipped out. They can cause TERRIBLE damage to your RV, especially the electrical wiring in your RV. The worse thing to have is ground squirrels to take up habitat in your RV (like in the end cap). They must be dealt with IMMEDIATELY. I've been living full-time in my MH for 12 years, and I speak from experience. Don't delay!!

When I spent the winter in Q I noticed that rigs parked near trees ir bushes were more likely to get mice or rats. Apparently they live in trees in the desert. The other thing I used was peppermint spray on my tires, and I never had any issues. This winter I am also bringing a solar powered light string to put under my rig.

My friend has been dealing with mice and rats for years - she's also part of an animal rescue group. You may have mentioned this but placing the humane traps along a wall/edge is preferred. Under normal conditions, mice and rats do not usually run across an open space. The electronic repellents that broadcast an inaudible high pitch sound also work but the downside is that you really never know if they're working except for the fact that you don't see rodents, and you may not remember to replace the batteries or keep them energized. My friend tells me soap is a myth with some rodents actually eating the soap/peppermint. The brillo pads do work as you indicated. If I were a teacher of rodent management, I'd give this video and you an A+ but wanted to point out those specific details. PS: The idea behind peppermint is to mask the urine traces and can work in high concentrations but could be even more effective with black pepper. Some rats and mice actually like peppermint leaves and peppermint solutions eventually wear off. If you're using a water solution, you may also try eucalyptus which is detrimental to rats and mice.

The mice we had LOVED Irish Spring soap, they chewed it up and then pooped! They loved going in my dish towel drawer and used the fibers from the towels to make nests with. I emptied the drawers and once opened one and interrupted their mating! We found a nest under the bed and in one of the bins. Currently we use a string of LED lights under the RV and so far that has worked. The RV is stored in our driveway so the lights don’t bother anyone. Wooded traps with bacon has worked the best for us. We don’t leave the dog food in a paper bag or leave any food in her bowl after she has eaten her fill. Mice are so nasty! They will poop everywhere, tear up anything, paper towels, toilet paper, and the wiring under the hood of your car/truck. Check you hide-a-bed, too they love that space because no one disturbs them. Something I have heard on other channels is Cayenne Pepper. They use this mostly on there engine to protect the wires. They also open the hood and put at a light inside the engine compartment. I dont know how well the light would do since your going to be gone for a year, but spraying the wiring areas with heavy Cayenne water shouldn't hurt anything.

Ugg, I feel your pain! Make a note of how many glue traps and where you put them. Sometimes if the mouse is only partially caught they try to escape. My daughter's cat got stuck in one, one paw and ear. Went careening through the house terrified, and it was so difficult to get him free. Good luck! Oh and by the way there is no such thing as one mouse! LOL 😆

I've been RVing for over 25 years. Been full timing since 2016. Never had mice. I'm lucky I guess. Thank God.

We recently had our first mouse attack. We heard hi gnawing, and started a three-day search, eventually finding nibbles of foam in the engine compartment of our class A, at the firewall. We tried glue traps, but without success (I logged where I put them). But my genius wife thought - hey, these are nocturnal critters. So we put a Ryobi flashlight under the hood and turned it on at night. the battery easily lasted all night, and we recharged it during the day . No mouse. Then we moved!

This is the one issue that has come into my thoughts the most ... and I haven't even hit the road yet. Thank you for getting this info out there!

We have experienced the same thing this year in our sticks n’ bricks. I bought those exact same live traps and caught 26 TWENTY SIX, mice over the course of 3 weeks. They were almost eliminated when I went on vacation, and my brother dog sat for 5 days. I knew there was at least one living in the guest room closet, so I set up the live trap, instructing him to check it twice a day. Idk why it bothers me so much to kill then, but it does, please don’t attack me in the comments. I am 55 years old and you won’t change my mind. Got home Thursday and find that the pantry has been breeched again. Dammit! He caught one, then decided to not put the trap back. I now have to remove everything from the pantry, WASH every can, throw away every box, and start all over. Nice and rats are incontinent everywhere they go, their urine just leaks out, along with their feces. My husband went and bought 10 kill traps. But we got 1 last night and I had to deal with it, took until 3am to fall asleep because it bothered me so much… idk why I’m like this!

Try mixing equal parts Jiffy cornbread mix and baking soda; won't hurt pets or people but kills mice and rats.

I watched a guy today, and he said mixing corn meal w honey in it and baking soda got rid of his rats in his barn. Swears by it!! Dollar tree plastic food containers with a lid, hole cut in the end for their little door, 4 tsps of each mixed

Tie a small piece of kite string (or some other sturdy string) to the bait holder of the old school snap traps. Make sure the knot is super secure (think double or triple tied) then trim the ends to about 1/4” and fray them. Rub peanut butter into the frayed ends. Or you can use softened caramel candy just make sure to get it warm and gooey-soft before working it into the frayed string. Mice are greedy and want to get every last lick of the goodies and they will chew and tug the string which triggers the trap.

The snap traps work with the right bait. They love peanut butter, but in our house, they lick it off without springing the trap. Husband baited them with gummies. I think he happened to use calcium gummies, but any kind would work. They have to bite or tug on them and that does it. It might help if they're stale. Harder to chew.

I have a 5th wheel I the Adirondacks. I have several layers of protection. If you are overrun with mice, only a few will be caught I traps. You need a solid barrier to stop the army of mice. 1) I have 1 1/2 pvc pipe with a tee and short horizontal pipes. The upright pipe has a galvanized wire with a bend on the bottom. The mouse blocks from tractor supply will slide done the wire and the mice eat each one and the wire feeds the next one by gravity. These are close to the camper. 2) drowning buckets with either rolling cans or trip boards. These are filled with RV antifreeze for winter. 3) an electric horse fence with horizontal galvanized mesh and the hot wire about 2-3 inches above. 4) behind the fence is a frame with black slick plastic that goes all around the camper 5). I use pest control great foam with the Pro gun. It can be closed and use the same can for years 6) inside the camper, there are Kness Ketch-all traps with the drowning attachment. The mason jars are filled with RV antifreeze and a splash of olive oil. 7) More mouse poison blocks inside 8). Hotshot pest strips. If something dies inside the RV, the flies will come to consume it. The Hotshots will kill the flies before they breed into maggots and future flies

Hi Robyn I used a electronic zapper that kills them quick and baited with a mars bar and no need to touch just open the top lid and tip into the bin. Keep safe and have safe travels beautiful x🙂

I live in the country surrounded by woods and use ziplocs with cotton pads soaked in peppermint oil. I also poke holes in the bags to release the scent then change when the seasons change. Also, SOS pads work great for filling holes. This worked for my inlaws' 110 year old house, three years since I used this, still no mice.

We found our Irish spring bars, in the lower cabinet on the floor , all chewed up, flaking and basically enjoyed by the mice!

So many people like Irish Spring, but it gives me an asthma attack. Talcum, and Obsession perfume also give me an asthma attack. My old dog would have gotten those mice. He's already gotten his Boy Scout hunting badge twice! He got two chipmunks, and was batting a tiny mouse around another time.

Oh, Robin, so sorry about the infestation. As my father would've said, there's no such thing as just one mouse (or anything other living thing). My biggest concern about rodents and vehicles is wiring - omg that's so extremely expensive to replace. I just knew you would have ideas and suggestions! Any rodent or bug that isn't afraid of me, makes me afraid of them. As big as a squirrel? Um, sounds more like a rat than a mouse. One time I saw a large rodent in someone's oven. "wow, that's the biggest mouse I've ever seen!", said I. DUH. It was a rat. And it wasn't afraid. I told the person, you have rats, call your landlord right now, don't take no for an answer. Eric from Nomadic Fanatic has L.E.D. lights under his rigs and inthe engine compartment. He has never said why he lights up his entire under carriage with L.E.D. lights. Since mice are nocturnal, perhaps the L.E.D. lights would deter them. Loved that pop up of the lady screaming. Your video was very informational and entertaining at the same time. 😍

I swear by fresh cab. We’re full time on a permanent spot in the woods and we’ve never had any mice. I also use the blue snuggle dryer sheets and put moth ball packets on top of the tires. We do leave for 3 months over the winter where the fifth wheel is not occupied and we’ve never had a mouse in 5 years that we’ve been full time.

Baking powder and Jiffy corn muffin mix, about 50/50. Put the mix in a container with an entrance hole, place several under your 5th wheel, especially where mice crawl up your rig (wheels). Since you will be gone for a while, put this concoction mix in containers large enough to feed an army of mice and other rodents. These pests cannot burp, the build up gas will kill them. I would anchor those containers somehow with bricks (top and sides).

My sympathies! I recently had a mouse infestation in my apartment-I’d see them running (or even sitting!) in the middle of the floor late at night! Management finally called an exterminator, who said avocado or chocolate also make good baits for traps. Still, we only caught one-clearing the brush outside and the trash cans solved the problem because it removed cover for rats, which were scaring the mice into the building. I’ve heard the bucket technique and peppermint oil are most effective. Irish Spring and dryer sheets only work about 50% of the time. Good luck!

I had a field behind my house and I used glue boards in the garage of my actual house. I caught mice left and right. Nothing worse than catching (or good I guess!) 3-4 baby mice on just one board. I do recommend taping them down with duct tape. If not secured, adult mice can move a glue board from its original location. Place traps around the wallboard and in corners. Mice run along the sides of walls, touching the wall, to help guide themselves. They can also get through a hole the size of a dime. If I find a snake, I am moving out!! Good luck

We put steel wool on the slideout rail area and have to remove them before we put the slides in. They were getting in the underbelly through there. Also in the older rigs where you pull the rv cord out of the side pocket door, we put steel wool there too. You may want to check the firewall insulation between your engine compartment and dash board. Some mice made a nest in our pick up there. The rodent repellant is good under the hood. Good luck

I know this is going to sound weird, but in our travel trailer we had a composite toilet. We used cedar chips.( like bedding for a Guinea pig). In the back of our rig, there were zero mice, in the kitchen area, there was . So I added cedar chips under our kitchen cabinets. No more mice. I will never use anything else.

I met a lady in Camping World who lived on a boat and RV most of her life. She recommended I use Bay Leaves while it was in storage. I bought a whole bunch and spread everywhere, even in my storage underneath. I also used the Irish Spring shavings to keep my motor home smelling fresh. Good luck.

Ugh. It's miserable having to deal with them in your house! Since I've started spraying all around the house and basement with peppermint oil we haven't had any come in. Sealing the holes first, of course. Time to do it again as fall is coming! Best of luck.

They chewed through spray foam in the house holes. Unless u fill with metal. Oh they chewed through the steel wool as well. I have a inch of cinnamon, black pepper, the hottest red peppers money can buy powdered and spread on all the wires. The walked around it.

Just an FYI on the solar red light. That won't work. I tried a motion censored battery operated owl with red lights for eyes and every time something moved in its sight, the red lights would light up but that didn't work at all.

Use a mixture of powdered cayenne (or the hottest pepper powder you can find) pepper, ground black pepper and dried peppermint leaves. Mix them together and sprinkle them around your RV and reapply after rain. You can purchase large canisters at the big box stores or order from a spice company. The negative; if you or your pets walk in it you will bring the pepperiness into your RV. Apply enough to make a difference. Steele wool (SOS pads) and gunk works to fill the holes (as you did).

Hey Robin. My sister and I literally just spoke about this subject this weekend. She and her family have a 5th wheel with 2 slides. When they part it in a storage area for the winter, they plug all holes with dryer sheets and steel wool, especially the tiny openings where the slide gears are. They also use Irish spring and other traps in the bays. Other people who store their trailers 2 spots away from my sisters' get mice so this year they are going to show them what they do to keep mice away. Good luck and sorry

We had the same thing happen and we, too, were storing our trailer at the time. The mice shredded everything in the trailer! They pulled insulation out around the oven and built a nest inside it. The chewed every blanket that wasn't in a tote. The peed and pooped on everything including the bedspread, counter tops and furniture. We tried everything to get rid of the smells and nothing worked. As soon as the trailer sat in the sun for any length of time in was unbearable. We ended up scrapping out the trialer and bought new. We had no choice. The new one has every opening stuffed with steel wool and/or caulking. Everywhere tubing or electrical is run is treated against them. We also keep bait stations outside the new fifth wheel so the mice don't go inside looking for food. It is still a concern but so far so good. Mouse proofing is a huge job and you have to look for every possible opening but it can be done. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this because I know how awful it can be.

Try pure peppermint extract on cotton balls in a sachet in areas where they may come in. I tried this from another blogger. 😊

I had mice too in my house about 6 months ago. I live in a nice suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of a medium size city. I ended up using mouse traps. They did not touch the mouse traps until I laces the wooded traps with chocolate syrup and it dried and still worked great. They were only eating chocolate in my pantry. That is where I got the idea. I ended up catching two in the lightly chocolate covered wooded mouse traps. I did wear gloves setting up traps and disposing of the mice.

Fresh Cab repellant under the sinks, pantry and backs of drawers. Replace every 6 months, or fir balsam oil can be used to re-saturate the little pouches.

Love your energy and your channel. I heard mice don't like peppermint oil! She put peppermint oil on cotton ball and put it around her engine. I heard it works and Irish Spring soap. The wire you are about to use is good, as well as wool and foam. Don't forget to put a piece of duct tape over the foam. That is some strong tape, and they come in variety of colors. Robin, we've used Ground Cayene pepper in the back of all our cabinets, drawers, closet & compartments, and it has worked perfectly to repel mice, after we had one in a kitchen drawer. Good luck. TY for all your advice!!

Moth balls, I would use for something kept in storage. We have mice and I found using a piece of honey comb catches them every time. I put glue traps along walls. Definitely have to build them out. Great you had help. Chipmunks too were enjoying my boyfriends jeep when it sat all winter. Caught one of them sittin' on the step rail talking trash.

We had years of mouse problems in our garage. We had great success with the bar bait, but it is toxic to raptor's and owls. We had a bull snake in our yard and that worked really well, we just had to make sure he/she didn't get in the way of the lawn mower. We took him/her to a wildlife area after one of our neighbors was going to kill it. I miss that snake but they are not like domestic animals and we couldn't figure out a way to keep him in our yard only. 2 years ago we got a sonic device that you plug into 110 AC. It absolutely works and it covers about a 20 foot radius. We have 2 vehicles that are mouse home favorites because they have good places for a nest.. well until the engine heats up and bakes them. Our mechanic used to try to guess how many dead mice they would find at oil change. Zero mice sense we got the sonic device. Humans and non rodent pets can't hear it. Here is a great way to keep nice and rats away from your truck engine and really anywhere. Buy PEPRMENT extract and mix it in a spray bottle with water. Label it and keep it handy. Spray it in your engine compartment or under your RV and you can spray it inside. It just smells like a boat load of candy canes. It lasts about 3 weeks, so we just pull out the spray bottle and give it a refresh. It works! And it's relatively cheap.

I've lived in a few mobile homes, and have always had mice to deal with. I was always told to stuff steel wool in every crack or crevice I can find. And mobile homes seem to have a lot of both! Steel wool helped, but not 100%. Wish I'd heard of some of these ideas back when I was living in a trailer.

Out here on the rancho, we constantly fight Mouse Wars. They chew all the wires in the tractors and other farm vehicles, infest the barns, get into the hay bales. We've found the only solution is EVERY solution: a multipronged approach with traps, lights, aromatics, and other devices. Usually we can keep a handle on them. But this year, in the Southwest (if that's where you are), has been a record year for mice and other rodenty varmints. We had periodic rains out of season which caused an abundance of food, leading to a birthrate explosion in mice. That also brought us a rattlesnake population boom, which is probably not what you want to hear. But the predators seem to be adjusting the mouse population. Next year may not be so bad as Nature brings things back in balance. But keep throwing EVERYTHING at the problem. The best answer is to prevent mice from getting in in the first place. One of the most effective deterrents we've found is a electric device that periodically flashes lights and then emits the sound of every feared mouse predator: a fox call, followed by an owl shriek, followed by a hawk scream... Only a solution for stored vehicles in areas where you will not be. I had a mouse problem in my RV several years ago. They were getting in through a tiny hole where the power cord came in. I steel wooled it and put an open spice jar of cloves in there. So far so good. The old fashioned moth balls trick doesn’t work it makes you sick and stinks up the unit. Sticky traps work the best I think

The only problem I have with the sticky traps for rodents, is that they suffer over time before they finally die. I got rid of our problem similar to your trail mix, I just bought some rodent food. I used a tunnel snap trap with some honey to make it so it would stick in the bait cup and make them work to get it out. Best of luck!

We had our fifth wheel parked for years and rarely had mice (maybe one per season and sometimes we’d find a few poops but nothing dramatic). Put steel wool (mice won’t chew steel wool) around any potential entry point, like pipes coming into the RV and get yourself some good smelling sachets from an RV store. The ones we used smelled strong once opened (we used them through the winter when the RV was closed for the season and they would last about six months) but the smell was nice, more like a spiced pine. We never even removed them when we would open the camper in the spring. Put those anywhere a mouse would typically enter (ours seem to gravitate under the kitchen and bathroom sinks). Keep all linens in interior cabinets. We also always wrapped our mattresses in plastic when not using the RV and stored everything in plastic totes, stored up high over the winter. You basically want to make your RV home uninteresting to a mouse…”it stinks, I hate steel wool, there’s no food, and nothing interesting to chew on to make my nest…” 😂 That way even if they get in, they’ll leave quickly.

That would be a RAT not a mouse. The best removal for me was a battery operated trap. Good idea with trap and bag. A nest is the worse - the wires are coated with a plastic made from peanuts or soy.

When I was young, I got a cute little baby mouse. It wasn't even half grown yet. Well, a few days later some little pink things appeared in her cage. I asked a friend what those little pink things were. He got to looking, it was 10 baby mice! My pet baby mouse had babies! 10!! They can reproduce unbelievably fast! Oh, and mice LOVE KitKat bars!

We have used a small portion of a tootsie roll to catch mice. They love those.

Use peperment oil in a spray bottle 50 Drops in spp

Try cornmeal or flour mixed with a little sugar for flavor and baking soda. The baking soda creates gas in the rodents and they can't pass it. They die pretty quickly. I would suggest putting it outside by your tires in jar lids or containers that they can get into.

Irish spring never works for me. Neither does those wood based spring traps. Mice are not allowed any where near me. This is not for the faint of heart but I lay Tomcat glue boards from Amazon or Home Depot. I lay them out flat in specific spots also they fold up as traps. This works best for me several attach to each other across doorways so I catch them trying to go in or out. When caught I fold up the glue trap and put them in a paper bag or old ziplock bag and instantly head for the garbage. Immediately add new down. Also Home Depot has plastic spring traps in white or black that I load up with peanut butter. Push up the lever and it is set. Good luck.

Try a sonic repeller, heavy duty one. They helped us get squirrels to leave our attic and I used them in the next house to rid of mice.

Ugh, I know your pain! I too had mice after sitting in a field for too long during monsoon season. The only thing that worked for me was taking my giant Party Box speaker and blasting techno underneath my rig. #mycatsareuseless

Hi Robin been following a couple years. You have helped me put together what I might need for my rig. My hubby passed so I am getting things I need. I have loads of camp gear so I’ll incorporate some of it. Trailer purchase hopefully by next summer. Can’t wait to get. Have friends already I know that RV all the time. Mix vinegar and ground Red Pepper with ground Cinnamon let sit over night and put in a spray bottle. Mice hate it and it's supposed to work better than Irish Spring. Also if you are going to sit a spell you can also take cinnamon sticks and put them on the ground by your tires, just replace if it rains.

I use used coffee grounds from the coffee shop ,bring a bucket with you and they will be glad to give it to you ,sprinkle all around under the trailer ,they don't like the coffee grounds ,try it

I tried this one and had exactly the same reaction to the smell as you did the other one! I was gagging for days and still smelled it after I returned them. Here's the kicker: the company literally harassed me via email for two weeks until I complained to Amazon! Every email was begging me to change my (scathing) review, and soon added in a bribe which by the time they ceased emails was at $50! I said change the odor and I'll change the review. I've never had that happen before! SUAVEC RODENT REPELLENT!

We store our RV on a gravel parking lot. They don’t like running across it, so I think that has helped.

We just caught out first mouse 2 days ago. We live in our van, and our first day in WY a mouse decided to give us a welcome! RIP🐭

I've been dealing with my 1st mouse infestation in my house. Bought plastic traps that have removable bait cups. I used ketchup from small packets I had from a food order. Easy to squeeze into bait cups & worked really well! Put out 3 traps. Caught 7 mice in 3 days. I didn't know there were so many! Thought I'd gotten them all then days later, saw a baby. Then a day later an adult. Refilled traps with more ketchup & next day found both dead in the traps. Had over a week of thinking they were all gone & saw another mid sized one. Heard sounds earlier like I might've trapped another one but haven't looked yet. The trap set is / was on Amazon: Acmind Mouse trap. Bought the set of 6 but there's a larger set of 12 for just a bit. more. There's also a sticky paper which has bait in the middle, but they can drag themselves off to hide sometimes. These traps come down hard & kill them.

A product called cab fresh works good and doesn't smell to bad. Good luck, I call all my set traps, the trap line!!

We live in the countryside. One of our friends car caught fire on the road, because a mouse built a nest under the hood. When that happened, my husband check our car hood and sure enough, a mouse had started gathering dry leaves and grass under the hood. Dangerous!

We got rid of rats coming into our attic (on the side of the house that had an avocado tree) by putting bowls of white vinegar around the attic and replacing the vinegar in the bowls when the tree started to bloom each season.

I use the peanut butter on a snap trap in paper bag trick. It works for me. It looked like your traps were going in the wrong direction from your picture. You ant the bait at the front of the bag not the back of the bag. I also have used empty butter boxes, cereal boxes and tea boxes instead of bags.

A mouse can go through any space their heads can fit into. I've watched their plump bodies collapse enough to let them travel through a 1/2" diameter space. The it plumps back out, once there is enough space. Rats are the same way. Some rodents live in trees. Some live in fields.
