2 things I wanna mention... 1. GeGe (the author of jjk) original planned for Nanami to only lose an arm this arm 2. I have always believed that Mahito truly respected/Gratful towards Nanami, Mahito himself says that his goal is to break Yuji's spirits yet instead of turning Nanami into a transfigured human to attack him like he did Junpei, he instead "mercy" kills him. We know Nanami played a pretty big role in Mahito's strength development so I assume this was his twisted way of showing him gratitude.

nah mahito do not care for nanami he saw yuji and made sure that yuji saw him kill him that broke his spirit he didn't have to turn him into a transfugerd human to do that. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE MANGA SPOILER❗❗❗❗ he also did the same to nabara so doe's that make him care for nobara? He "killed" her than showed her body to yuji to break his spirit.

@@marquicebroadwater2607 I disagree with you on a few things... 1. We know Mahito was grateful towards Nanami, he said so previously after unlocking domain expansion 2. Killing Nanami didn't break Yuji's spirit, in fact in kinda did the opposite ("killing" nobara is what broke Yuji) 3. The reason Mahito killed Nobara was because she was a legitimate threat to him and could potentially kill him, also he didn't touch her long enough to properly transfigure her

Mahito has no respect for any human or cares towards any human besides yuji because he hates all human he literally says this when he fights gojo he says and I quote " you know why I hate humans because theres so many of them" yuji is the only acceptance because he thinks him and yuji are the same, they live in the same world but on 2 diff sides of the same coin. Nanami is not that, he was just another tool that mahito used to break yuji. 3. It's a show gege didn't want to turn him into a cursed spirit he wanted to kill him off yall looking way to deep in it💀

Nanami was walking down the hall (end of previous episode) and within like 5 minutes he died...So good they delayed the blow for a moment... getting it at the very beginning of the episode would be even more devastating than it already is

To clear things up. That last episode wasn’t 30% finished. The guy who tweeted that didn’t mean it like that. And the reason specialz played last episode is cuz the lyrics is like Sukuna making fun of Yuji.

There are like 2 dope ass manga panels they didn’t get to put in the episode cuz they weren’t finished. And there was a scene I saw on tiktok or twitter Sukuna vs mahoraga they didn’t get to put in either

She explained it perfectly accurately. The animators had a vision of what they envisioned for the episode. They only achieved 30% of that vision of what they had in their head because they had to compromise everywhere due to constraints.

I didn't want to watch this episode knowing damn well what's coming but at the same time.. the sooner the better... it messed me up for the rest of the night.. even now I'm not okay and I KNEW it's gonna happen.. the animators did excellent job making him dance in Malaysia.. it added to the unfairness and harsh reality of human life in jjk.. at least he got his rest.. but man, did he have to get it this way? 😔

I actually love when anime’s add a song after a banger episode on the last one. Demon did it with 19, Re zero did it once a season. Now jjk. Maybe it was the tracks style but I think it fit because the track is intended to be from the curses perspective and it fits the moment even more cause it was Sukuna mocking/laughing at Itadori for not being able to save people which the lyrics go well with. Consider it a Sukuna laugh moment rather than a complete Yuji sad moment.

It was 100% supposed to be a hard contrast to what Yuji was feeling vs Sukuna. It's very odd to me that some people are saying it was out of place, but many anime's do it. Plus I don't think the song sounded upbeat like many are saying. It, along with the opening, give me more funeral vibes than happy-go-lucky kick ass vibes.

I had three years to prepare for this episode and I still couldn't handle it. The anime made this scene even sadder than it was in the manga. We weren't kidding when we said they weren't screwing around this arc. One thing I wanna mention is that the author of JJK really likes Nanami and absolutely hates Gojo. That should tell you no one is safe from death in JJK.

Ok, imma have to correct just one little thing u said, the 30% thing was COMPLETELY false... The episode was actually like 70-80% complete, the 30% was about Ideas that some of the team had but couldn't translate to animation... I'm correcting it just because some of the animators where really upset about people saying the episode was 30% finished when it was NOT... They where REAL REAL mad about that and they had reason for that cuz they whent all out in this particular episode...

I just wanna truly thank the animators that worked so hard on this episode because they honestly made nanami's death so tragic yet so beautiful. The direction and the OST was so heartbreaking yet so beautiful and it gave a much loved character such a fitting farewell. And the fact that Kenjiro Tsuda ( Nanami's voice actor) Paid tribute to him makes it so much more lovely. RIP Kento Nanami

Honestly no flame but people have to be a special kind of something... To see that episode and say "yep that's 30% finished" the same animator later said that it wasn't animation wise but of the ideas they wanted to do, obviously if thats the case they needed another 40 mins which is impossible.

It’s so crazy to think that like a lot of all of this could’ve just been avoided. If Gojo or any of the other special grades either were on the scene or took their job more seriously at the positions they hold a lot of the disaster curses could’ve been dead in season one. Why is a special grade like Yuta in Africa right now when the hub for cursed spirits is in Japan? Where the hell is Yuki? Like I know all stories have to go somewhere but man it’s rough to watch this arc play out even after reading it

Mahito is perfection in terms of being a villain. It is 1000% pure evil, no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The kind of villain you just love to hate. Mahito is quite possibly one of the BEST villains in anime history. I actually like him a LOT more than Sukuna and Fake Geto/Kenny! Creative powers, playful and creepy personality and incredible design. Gege hit the jackpot with Mahito!

I was apprehensive about watching this episode because I knew what was gonna happen. Nanami really left a lasting impression that now Yuji is fighting knowing what is expected of him.
