I just went through Omicron and am 4 days behind you in the timeline. After discussing everything with my GP he let me know a few interesting things - When you feel better and then worse it's basically you having almost gotten rid of the infection in your throat and the virus attempting to relocate to your upper sinus and bronchia as a last stand. So our immune system drops a gear to fight the virus again. The cough we speculated as a result of ARDS (we are dealing with SARS-CoV-2 after all) where we get more blood in alveoli than usual as a part of our immune response which allows for more fluid to remain in our lungs that we usually clear out. Whether this is linked to mild/unnoticeable Myocarditis or not is undetermined but possible. Now if you have co-morbidities such as being obese or asthmatic you are at a very high risk of pneumonia and secondary infection here. But most healthy people's body's will just spend a few days with a mild cough and a wheeze moving the excess fluid out. But this could be the main reason for the cardio loss, my GP and I expect it to bounce back quicker than when I had double pneumonia 19 months ago. For me it was a month until I was running reasonably and another month until I was at full speed. I'm expecting to be back at full speed within the month.

I really appreciate your videos. It is nice to have an explanation for my symptoms. I am on day 16. I went for a short walk yesterday and in the evening I had severe pain in my back and extreme fatigue. It came on suddenly. Today I went on a bike ride and tonight I am experiencing fatigue and back pain. I have also experienced night sweats. I wake in the middle of the night hot. Then l can’t fall asleep. I have experienced those headaches you were talking about. I would get random shooting pain. Now they are gone thank goodness. Coughing seems to get worse when I am feeling stress in my body.

General recommendation from the world of long covid and now your experience: "lay low." Being athletic is a _very_ common feature in the long covid communities I have visited. (I have not been infected.) Whether cause or effect or just a correlation, nobody knows... but there it is. I never conversed with many marathoners, or half marathon trained people, as I did there. Anyway, for everybody coming out of COVID-19 ramp up slowly afterward lest it cost you a lot of progress. You are not out of reach of the devil yet; ease into it. I don't know what your odds are if you don't overdo it but if you get too aggressive I would bet they will be worse - and I don't bet except on sure things.

Quite similar symptoms to my own. I also felt as though I was done with it when an annoying cough appeared. Nothing scary or debilitating, just annoying. I am on the 3rd day of the cough and feel really good outside of that. Compared to bouts with the flu over the years, this has been quite mild. The worst part of it was 2 days of chills and body aches.

Thanks for sharing. It's helpful to hear another persons experience with Omicrom. I had similar experience in Dec/Jan. Tested neg twice with Rapid, 3rd PCR test came back positive. Most of my symptoms were gone around 2 weeks in, then ENT congestion came back. I'm 4 weeks in and some days/nights are great, some not so much. All vitals have remained good, chest X-ray normal. But just moments where anxiety and short breath kick in. Moments when mild ENT congestion kick up. I too have tried to get back to cardio and working out, but not ready. Focusing on nutrition, rest, stress management, recovery. Wish you well in your recovery!

Why do people keep getting tested? Lol. 😂the inventor of the PCR test (Kerry Mullis) said it was not to be used to diagnose viruses. We should listen to him and stop all of this testing. Stay home, rest, drink fluids take some ivermectin etc. mucinex is great for the ENT symptoms. We took it 2x a day starting on day 1 and we were over all of it in 10 days. Also took hydroxycloroquine

Glad you are recovering. I got it jan 1st and had 2 days of fatigue and sinus headache (with jaw ache), then 2 days mild sore throat. day 4 I was a bit dizzy but think it was lack of electrolytes due to night sweats. The rest of the time, I just felt a bit less energetic than normal and slept 20 mins mid day for a few days to give things time to heal . I tested again on day 11 and was still pos but it was really faint on the test after about 10 mins as opposed to bold and instant on the test done on the 1st. I am walking for an hour a day to build stamina back up now. Im unvaxxed , female and middle aged.

My reaction were almost identical and we tested positive on the same day! Triple vaccinated and symptoms were mild overall but did start to clear and then resurface with extreme nasal congestion and slight taste loss. My GP prescribed a Medrol pack on my request… being a nurse sometimes works in my favor! Returned to work on 1/10 and still had some fatigue towards the end of my shift as well as a sore neck/headache. Thankfully, this week has been much better-let’s hope this is it for us!

Thanks for the update good you are feeling better. Very similar for me. Age 63 living northern England with one vax in March and taking high strength Vit D, Zinc and NAC. I was tested with positive LF and PCR early December had symptoms similar to you with some loss of taste also. Unusual for me I had very limited sore throat followed by tight chesty, tickly cough affecting sleep. Most symptoms gone after 12 days and feeling OK until mid Jan when chesty cough and heavy sinus affects returned. Its still lingering at the moment. Probably one of the most persistent colds I've had for 10 years

Sounds like a good plan. Jumping back in makes my hair stand on end, easing back in over a week or two would make more sense. The "long tail" of COVID has a wicked stinger that can lay people low for a very long time. Some people who were infected in early 2020 are still not recovered, and athletes are remarkably common in long covid communities.

I have had almost no symptoms (age almost 73; Moderna vaccinations and booster) and would not have known I had covid if my daughter (with whom I traveled out of state) hadn't gotten it. Like you, I had a negative rapid test one day and a positive PCR the next, even with no symptoms. However, I do have very, very mild symptoms: congestion up in my head, tickle in my chest and a sense of increased congestion there. I will have a day when I feel great, I am quite physically active, and then these symptoms increase. Rest more and they decrease. So your video is very helpful to me. Thank you!

At night I get a slightly sore throat, runny nose and have a dry cough. Problem is that I can’t really exercise as I don’t feel well if I do and my chest hurts after. I got Omicron on Christmas. Rapid test and PCR- positive. Symptoms: nasal congestion, headache, sneezing, fatigue, diminished smell and taste, slight tickle cough, red prickly heat type rash on both forearms. I also had a low-grade fever and back ache on day 5. The fatigue was debilitating and relentless. I had recurring symptoms of nasal congestion and tickle cough at night. It took me 16 days to recover. Today, I feel great, my energy has returned, and I am walking my usual 4 miles every morning. Taste and smell is back to 100%. I still tire pretty easily, but no other lagging symptoms. (Vaxxed)

My resting heart rate has increased since my recovery, and I am now beginning to get back to my 35-40+ miles of walking per week. This mirrors my own experience with the false dawn, feeling headaches when I dont get them normally, and most of all the loss of cardio. Wish you a continued recovery. Not sure there's much to study regarding reduced endurance. A viral infection in lung reduces lung function. It's a question of speed and degree of recovery possible, and only time will tell that. I find it annoying we're two years into a pandemic and we have so few early infection treatments and all seem out of stock at moment. The vaccines against the first variant have sadly turned out to be a Maginot line defense and CDC and WHO utterly failed to have any backup retreat defenses on hand. Seems by time the new recently approved antivirals and Omicron specific vaccine are available we'll be well past the peak of this. For all our medical tech, it's humbling this is playing out just like the "Spanish" flu of +100 years ago.

With my longtime (40 years) post-viral fatigue syndrome experience (ME/CFS), I beg you, please do not exercise or push yourself in any way at all. This is how ME/CFS develops, with its common PEM, Post-Exertional Malaise, which it looks like you are experiencing. Resuming a walking or jogging routine is not the way back to health. I will go so far as to say that the Omicron variant seems to set up a pattern similar to ME/CFS, which is a devastating condition. Check out Whitney Defoe's story. Please, do not jog, walk for exercise, or go to the gym.

I think I had Covid in March 2020. It was a mild flulike illness. I was definitely exposed. I went from fit to wrecked - some days just getting up and dressed left me sucking for air. I had a full workup - lungs and heart looked fine, but every time I got on the treadmill, the technician stopped the test within two minutes. My medical team decided I had long-term post-viral fatigue. Roll on 2021. First vaccination - a week later I was feeling pretty damned good. Second shot and I was bouncing about, back to long uphill walks and doing strength training with an x-band. 6 months later, I started Emgality shots for chronic migraine. The headaches were brought under very good control but I gained 5 lb in the first week after the first shot, 5 lb within a week of the third shot. The third shot set off a horrible allergic reaction, and back came the fatigue and general malaise. Got the booster shot and started improving again. Three weeks ago I got a mild flulike illness! Headaches, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, overwhelming exhaustion. One day of low fever on the third day. Next morning, all symptoms gone - but I'm again struggling to get enough air if I walk and talk, go up the stairs, or move too fast. Negative raid test but the wait was so long it took 10 days to get it done. I don't know if these incidents are due to Covid. Circumstantial evidence suggests it was.

Very similar and I got COVID on Jan 4th also so the timeline is almost the same. The wax and wan of symptoms in your timeline match with mine also. I did not have very bad headaches though. I did have a later onset but very productive cough where there was a lot coming up, I also had the fevers and night sweats, those were pretty bad. I feel pretty good now although I still feel a bit fatigued. I am doing light cardio, not pushing myself, using light weights at home. I will recovery my fitness when I am feeling 100. I’m not vaxxed at all and I got Omicron from vaccinated people. ( I was only around vaccinated people, it’s 95% here) . I had chills the evening of Dec 30. Woke up with body aches, chills horrible headache and severe fatigue. Felt this way for 2 days. On day 4 my symptoms were gone but a bit weak. By day 5 I was back to normal and I am a sedentary 60 year old woman. I’m glad I didn’t get vaccinated. The adverse reactions from the vaccine would probably have been worse than the actual symptoms from COVID.

We got hit worse, girlfriend came home Sunday evening last week, sore throat, Monday PCR positive, really bad stomach but did not throw up. Fever until Thursday, 3y kid started vomiting Wednesday night, after 5 hours 10month old started vomiting, Thursday night I spent all night in bathroom throwing up. Since then headache, back pain, sore throat, high fever (39,6’c) but has gone down now. Tonight, 10y kid started throwing up. This sucks. Good to know, my time line is out to just past 4 weeks now. Sore throat gone, no real fever. During the first two weeks left side nasal passage was worse and ears were completely plugged up. At the end of week 4 ears cleared except random plugging, odd. Cough came on week 3. Mainly upper chest , so no real shortness of breath. But the recovery time seems to be extraordinary long. Anyone out there past 6 weeks? Notice that symptoms randomly come and go...

Interesting video on symptoms. I’m vaxxed and boosted but still got the Omicron. Similar to your symptoms. But I’ve never really felt that fatigued. Mostly headaches, and I’m the same, I rarely get headaches. Sore throat, sinus felt stuffy, mild cough. No fever, but I did have night sweats. And what is weird, is I’d start feeling better, then the next day it’s back. I’m on day ten since I got sick, feel like I do after a bad bout of the flu. I haven’t tried to do a run or bike ride, mainly because it’s snowing and cold outside. But I’ll try and get in a snow hike next couple of days to see how my lungs do. Still, for an old 61 year old, this stuff isn’t that bad.

It's been 12 days since I tested positive still have swollen glands and sinus congestion. One very odd occurrence I've had terrible arthritis for years controlled by Tramadol but while on Ivermectin I couldn't take it but I didn't have any pain in my joints. I've been off Ivermectin 5 days and all the arthritis pain is back and twice as bad as before Omicrom and the Tramadol gives me no relief. Dear God I hope this will pass for I don't know how I'll be able to live with this pain, I can barely walk to the kitchen and I live alone no one to help me.

So…I’ve watched and very much enjoyed your videos for months. I watched your video when you got COVID and felt so bad for you! I’m a Pediatric RN in the States. Well…I woke up this past Saturday and thought oh God, oh God…crap. I felt AWFUL. Not like “Oh this may be COVID but, oh this will be test #7 and it’s not a lucky one 😩”. Super sore throat, cough, achy, fever to 101.5, chills, congestion, headache a little…I made an Urgent Care appointment and ordered Rapids on Amazon. So here’s the funny thing. I work at a Hospital based Clinic and we are doing Employeee testing so of course this would happen on a weekend. I felt worse as the day went on. Went to UC and got swabbed, the NP gave me all the things and was super nice. I was wheezing too because I am asthmatic and while I admitted to not using my albuterol because it makes me shaky, she sent in Levoalbuterol for me as well as a Z Pack if I felt I was getting Pneumonia and Prednisone which I equally hate because I’m an odd adult who gets croup from viral infections and has gone to the ED for stridor. While awaiting my PCR result my rapids came and I took one and as some of the liquid crossed the test line it lit up bright and clear. So…yep, PCR of course came back positive. I almost think I have the Omicron 2.0 with how hard and fast my symptoms came on. I maybe had a sore throat some of Friday that I could attribute to allergies. And maybe a little headachy before that but I get them anyway. I am down and out. Out of work. Can’t leave my bed barely…I am not a wimp 😕 Triple vaxxed too. Not fun but looking forward to some good immunity now!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, but I've been experiencing (I'm on calendar day 10, my work leave ended 3 days ago, though I haven't felt strong or well enough to return yet). An issue I've been experiencing is lack of appetite, as well as thirst. I've been forcing a daily serving of toast or saltines, and was able to choke down some yogurt yesterday. I, too, also have had the irritated eyes mentioned, as well as the agonizing headaches, and enough throat irritation to make speaking difficult. Fully vaxxed, also in healthcare, and upset over the recent 5 day v 10 day excused as I may now be in the unpaid leave area, in order to protect others from the wretched virus. Thoughts? Thank you for the update! This has been very helpful. My kids both had covid and PCR +. We did not isolate from each other in the house. Last Friday I started having symptoms (dry cough, congestion, runny nose, fatigue, moderate body aches (this was my most significant symptom), dizziness and mild headaches. I have taken 2 rapid and 2 PRC tests and all have been negative. I have had a pretty mild case (except for body aches and fatigue). I'm a long covid sufferer from Oct 2020. Unvaccinated but use IVM and hydroxy. Also hydrogen peroxide gargle, swish and spit. I'm wondering if these therapies are keeping my viral load down enough to continue giving me negative PCR tests. I was PCR tested on day 4 and 6 of symptoms. My doctor says they were more than likely false neg since I had close exposure and symptomatic (80% accuracy). I'm hoping these body aches do not linger. Evenings are pretty uncomfortable. Your updates have helped me so much. It is hard feeling like I do with a negative test and not knowing for sure if I had it or just imaging my symptoms lol. Antibody test 2 days before symptoms was weak positive (18.8). I'll recheck in a week or two to see if they increased.

Hi Hannibal, you might want to obtain an RX for ciclesonide ICS (aka: Alvesco) being that your at high occupational risk of exposure. Ciclesonide showed an 82% risk reduction in ER visit or hospitalization when taken as outpatient. It's in a peer reviewed paper in JAMA. Those efficacy #'s are in the realm of the famed Paxlovid and Sotrovimab which are almost impossible to obtain for mere mortals. They played some games with the endpoints in the RCT. The original Primary EP was progression to ER or hospitalization but mid trial they switch the original Primary EP to Secondary and made the new Primary EP Full resolution of all symptoms by 30 days. Then they reported the trial as a failure since it didn't meet the primary end point. I feel the COI section explains why the switch was made. Nevertheless, the reduction in hospitalization is very impressive for an easy to administer, widely available, repurposable therapeutic with a well known safety profile. There is another P2 RCT that showed impressive results published in MDPI. Ciclesonide also showed potent antiviral activity in vitro against SARS-CoV-2 which supports an additional MOA beyond the typical ICS immune modulation.

The order of my symptoms has been: -- very red eyes, different than allergy eyes (day 1) -- chills (likely fever but did not measure it) -- sore throat -- fever [99.1 -- 100.1] -- joint pain, especially in previously (old) knee injury -- upper back pain -- slight dirreaha -- fever returns [99.5] -- productive upper respiratory voluntary cough/clearing junk from sinuses and throat -- energy loss, feeling weak (day 10) I can feel I lost a lot of strength and cardio, although I felt like exercising yesterday I did not. I have not had an involuntary cough yet. Taking Mucinex each day, 5000 IU of vitamin D, and ~ 100 oz of fluids per day: lemon water, hot tea, and kombucha. Anyone try the synergistic combination of 40mg diphenhydramine and 400mg lactoferrin, as published from in vitro studies out of U of Southern Fl, last month? Apparently, the combination, when taken together exhibited over 95% efficacy in neutralizing vital replication. Granted, this is in lab, but a potentially promising area for the creation of a trial study (which is unlikely any time soon.) Just curious as I am holding that in my back pocket as an Alamo option on top of daily D, C, NAC, zinc supplements.

For me the worst symptom was fever and persisted from Saturday through yesterday. Thankfully it never cracked 99.6, however it was odd in that it seemed to be on a 2 or 3 hour cycle between that peak and 98.6. Even when I had H1N1 that started out with a 103.5 fever, the fever only lasted three days and for normal colds it's usually a day or two at most. Other symptoms include runny nose and sneezing on the first day, sinus congestion the first two days, fatigue that varied throughout the day from day 3 on and the last couple of days minor lower GI. Today is day 8 and I feel normal, but we shall see what late afternoon brings. That's when it usually sneaks back in after a reasonable good day.

@@stephen918 Funny you should ask... I felt a little bit of chest congestion late on Day 8 so as a precaution I made an appointment for the next day. By the time of the appointment the congestion cleared up and they did a RAT & PRC swab. Both came back negative. Three days later I came down with similar symptoms, made another appointment and this time tested positive. They also swabbed for flu and that came back negative. Most like the first time was flu but they didn't swab for that and I'm betting I picked up COVID the first time I went in. Anyway it was very similar except one night fever hit 101.1 and I had a really bad headache. I also had a few nights of chills. The first time I was tested was 1/22 and that was negative on both RAT & PCR. Symptoms started on 1/25 and the second time when I tested positive was 1/27. Symptoms ended on 2/4 and I did two home RATs on 2/5 (positive) and 2/6 (negative). So a little worse than your average cold but not close to a nasty case of flu. I'd say mild flu because that's what I probably had the first go-around. I'm a healthy 62 with no known comorbidities and unvaccinated. I do maintain a good diet and have been supplementing with D3 + K2, Zinc + Quercetin, NAC and C from the beginning.

Bad headaches, sinus pressure, and runny nose and fatique. No temperature. Yesterday was the first day I started to feel normal. However, by the evening I started to feel fatique again. I woke up this morning and I feel awful. Bad body aches, headache and exhaustion. I am hoping this is the last push before I recover properly.

@@stephen918 I understand for most people it takes 1 - 2 weeks for symptoms to clear. I get antsy around day 3 of any bug. :-) It does seem to drag on, especially some mornings when I would feel better only to feel worse later in the morning or by noon and feel crummy for the rest of the day. And then one morning it was just gone. I half expected it to come back later in the morning, then noon, then afternoon but it never did. Hoping you get that day ASAP.

Pulmonary endothelial inflammation probably caused your breathlessness. Also brain vascular inflammation causing brain fog\headaches... Suspected micro clotting is becoming the thought as the source of this inflammation. Hopefully it's not a permanent cycle as your body clears out the spike protein and or learns to ignore it... Long haulers are having a tough time with resulting immune system dis-regulation and a cascade of issues including histamine intolerance, chronic fatigue, tinnitus, chest\head pressure, etc, etc... BTW, exercise mobilizes the proteins and re-triggers more inflammation anywhere in the body. so your best bet is to be still! - I know, it's hard for you but might be indicated for a time.

55, male in good health. Noticed first symptoms morning of Feb 23rd (fever/exhaustion). Feb 24th sore throat started. Fever, exhaustion cont). Feb 25th sore throat really bad. Temp of 102. Went to clinic and tested positive for Covid. Doc recommend treating symptoms (advil/Tylenol). Today (26th) no fever and sore throat better…but that could simply be because of meds. This has really done a number on upper respiratory, especially throat. Lots of mucous, painful swallowing. Will add to this as days go by. ***Edited to add I’m vaccinated (initial Moderna x2).

I had the symptoms that came on at different times as well. I began with very bad headaches and a throat so sore that I thought I had strep throat. I lost my voice, and I had some loose stools well. I had fever but not that high. Although, my temp usually runs low in the 97s F, so a temp of over 100 F was probably more like 101 F. I haven't had a fever in years, so that was significant. My O2 sat (pulse ox) dropped to 87 for a low, but I had learned if you take some deep breaths in and out, it will come up. So, I aired out my lungs well and it came up to 92 and pretty much stayed between 90 and 92 the rest of the time. My pulse stayed high for several days around 108 probably due to the temp and body fighting the virus. I had body aches and fatigue. I lost my appetite. So, the first few days was more like flu symptoms. My headaches went away around day 3, but I lost my taste and smell around day 3. I did take a test my husband bought at the drug store and it was positive. Then, the second stage happened around day 4. My symptoms went from more flu-like to more like a common cold. My sore throat just went away around day 4. It didn't go through the stages of getting better. It literally went from being so sore I could hardly swallow, to being not sore at all when I awoke on day 4. Very strange. On day 4, I started coughing which I had not coughed before, and my sinuses and nose began running quite profusely. Then, on day 5, my asthma appeared a bit, not as bad as it can get. It was stirred up by everything else going on. So, I used my inhaler and steroids which helped my breathing. My asthma is very well controlled and only comes on with a cold or other respiratory illness (like this). So, at this point forward, I had more typical cold symptoms instead of flu symptoms. It began like the flu and ended up like a cold, very strange. Any way, it took a long time it seemed before I could get back on my feet, plus my asthma becoming symptomatic on top of the cold symptoms extended my need for rest by a few days. I was out of work for a little bit over a week. I went back today. I was OK until about the 5th hour I was there and suddenly became very fatigued all over, and felt like I needed to rest. So, I hung in there and rested after I got home for about two hours. I don't know what tomorrow will be like. I'm going to bed early tonight. My taste and smell finally came back today. I still have some sinus issues, but that is normal for me and the asthma has cleared. Today is about the 10th day since I first became ill. I took the drug store test again about 4 days ago and it was still positive, but the pink line denoting a positive test was lighter pink than at the beginning, and then in 2 more days, it was negative.

Nice notes; to be frank I think the -‘feeling better’, - ‘feeling worse’ is the failure of the body to complete eradicate the foreign host (virus). I would say most biological entities have a timing mechanism, so once you go into fever, it doesn’t stay forever. This will probably mean that the virus replicates inside of ‘anyone’ at a faster rate than other virus we have program to defend. I’m not a doctor nor does my opinions hold any merit, but I did have the flu 1 year ago; sick 3-4 days, fever 2 days; dry cough >> 10 days. Only if we all knew that getting better doesn’t mean you are not a transmissible host, this is a gradual thing.

Been following your progress. I got it last Sunday. I am now on day 6. I am mirroring very closely your pattern with a worse cough. Have you covered what "treatments" you have taken? Even vitamins etc. I increased my D, C, Zinc,Quercetin and take aspirin. I also do 20 minute steam baths 2x per day and clean out the nasal cavities. Today I started diluted hydrogen peroxide nasal/gargle. Today I also took first dose if IV.... Who knows if it does anything. But, the risk of IV... is lower than just about any drug out there. So why not? Should be interesting to compare timeline in a week. I am 60+ in decent health and I had alpha back in Feb of 2020 as I was skiing in a hotspot. Hope you get your energy and stamina back soon.

31Mar - beginning of cold symptoms, much worse by evening. 1 - 4 April Day 2 after symptoms begin had negative rapid test. Day 3 positive rapid home test Day 5 positive PCR test Feeling better and hoping it's almost over. I had head and neck pain, scratchy throat, then sore throat, malaise comes and goes. I can still smell and taste and food goes down good. 5-9 April Days 6-8 - relapse of malaise, no more sore throat just scratchy, mild congestion. 9-10 April feeling better, no malaise, still cautiously weak 11 April day 12 - woke congested, malaise retuned suddenly and lasted all day, bad in evening, felt like blood pressure. Got pulse oximeter to ease fears about O2 levels, SpO2 96 hr 70, felt terrible trying to get to sleep that night. 12 April Day 13 - still some malaise in morning, by afternoon feeling much better, outside in sun for a while. Cough started that evening. Malaise did not return. 13 April day 14, cough worsened, tired but not full-on malaise, but than worse than day before. Spo2 97-98 hr 78. Some heartburn and mild indigestion seems to be a new symptom. My timeline paralled yours in many ways. I didn't develop a real cough until day 13 going into day 14. Day 15 Went to the doctor for a check up to see if the continuing waves of elevated HR and malaise were linked to something more serious. EKG, Blood pressure, blood test for infection were negative. I have to admit that getting out and getting that confirmation put my mind to rest and the waves of malaise seem to have subsided. It leaves me wondering if some of those symptoms during the last few days were psychosomatic, in addition to a small nagging dry cough. Day 16 I believe now I will start to get my strength back with no more setbacks or relapses, or new symptoms. Thank you for your videos, it helped to compare my symptoms to yours and others to keep me from panicking that it might get even worse and having symptoms at 2 weeks is not so unusual.
