If my guess is correct, the whole situation with the goddess hater and teacher Bright isn't that important and just a mini arc in the source material so the studio decided to finished it right away. But who knows, it might also be a bad move from JC staff

One of the things I was disappointed about was that around this same time in the manga makoto was actually really pissed about raim becoming a dragon kin because he called out that raim was put in a situation where he didn't have a choice and could have just be healed and not only was the fear of makoto' s anger put in her she was used as target practice afterwards

First few minutes I went back to the previous episode as I though I had missed something with how Bright got caught and into that position for interrogation. So that part did feel like they did skip content. But the rest of the episode was fun to watch, especially when we went to Blue Lizard v2, after they managed to win after only 4 team wipes. And at some point I had expected Makoto to intervene after they insulted their opponent which I thought was snapped more and we would have ended with some deaths.

Sometimes things make more sense in the greater context, in hindsight. I imagine, that may be the case.

It feels rushed but there’s a lot going on too. I do think there’s been cuts and maybe our expectations on what things will happen or be covered are part of it. Like the experimentation bust was quicker than expected. Also the blue demon girl is hot and would be cool if she becomes more of an ally. Maybe Makoto is more allied with demons. But I do agree there have been cuts. The director is the same person who did the first season at C2C. Also Eris the forest ogre is hilarious when she saved the students. She was saying a lot of jokes and teasing the students. Insults and telepathy. The Blue Lizard woman getting mad at being called a man somewhat was funny but makes sense. It seems like so far we are on volume 7 when comparing with the novels. They will probably cover quite a bit in 2 cours. The novels aren’t licensed yet. The first novel is only recently licensed in English. And perhaps it’s just hard to fit some novels in the usual 3-4 episodes for some novels. The strict 23-25 minute episode timing probably hurts pacing sometimes too.

In the web novel the teacher was taken care of offscreen. The fact that they give him a minute is more than enough to make a point.

My biggest complaint is that I am missing Tomoe and Mio. They've been reduced to cameos and they're half the reason I watch the show. Oh and where's Emma?! I miss that blonde piggy!

Interesting how Makoto kills Bright without any hesitation after gaining all the information he needed. I thought after learning that the organization might be something he could work with, he might use Bright but it appears not. Lol the students learning Blue Lizard and Zwei are only using tenths of their strengths was amusing. Hopefully they'll be a lot stronger once the summer break ends. I do like that Makoto made sure to post a guard to follow them, you can see how much he cares about them.

Nope, the asshole teacher plot gets wraped up THAT quickly, they meet the demin girl and it's all over in a couple days, like not even half a chapter of the manga. Speaking of, they are finally bringing out the LNs in english! I've been waiting for this ever since finding the manga years ago(around the time the first season came out I think?) and it's finally here!

Yeah, the anime is skipping some things for the chapter on the manga Because I went back to check when a Pacific character will show up and yet apparently in the anime, they skip that part and the training arc for the hero with her party members.

You are half right. If you go read the manga then it will explain exactly what is going on. It is leaving quite a few plot threads out and a lot of explanations for what is going on. Excuse the sort of spoilers but here are some examples : where are the assassin sisters, why was killing the professor so personal for Mikoto, how did Mikoto feel about the experiments at the lab, why didn't Mikoto let Shiki torture the professor longer, why is it important that the demon general gave over the telepathic info, why is it important that the demon general doesn't understand what Mikoto is doing, how do the lizardmen champions brought in for training view their position? These questions don't seem like a big deal to the anime watcher but are pretty darn important in the manga. It is a credit to the director that he can take out aspects of what is going on but still keep the depth to the show. TLDR. if you have to ask the question then it is probably answered in the manga. The manga takes a lot more time with the depth behind things. The series is probably better than the manga due to the pacing but it is worth reading the manga afterwards if you really like the series .

Someone commented they completely removed the dark tones compared to the manga. Makoto was supposed to be really vicious with Tomoe for changing Lime, they turned it into a comedy instead. Yes they also majorly skipped. I checked the manga pages, they literally made this anime PG-13. So disappointed, this is a great anime only to make it kid friendly and removed some of the essence of the show

I didn't feel like it was rushed at all imo. Really enjoyed the episode and kept rolling back multiple times the funny bits. Maybe you can "feel" a cut a tthe moment the mad teacher was already captured by Makoto but that's about it. But apparently the experiments weren't a main focus, heck they even said at the start of the episode that Runa was the one who rushed the whole investigation and completed it which is the chara development defining her like a succubus using any underhanded tactic. And as far as I know that trait is exactly what she used to lure the 2 hyumans armies led by the isekai'd heroes and bury them, thus I guess there's no sign of rushing thhe story around it all. It seems like it was more about giving us the global message that there's actually many hyumans who aren't pleased with the goddess and separate into several different factions. I'll miss Karen force/Rona, cuz I like this student training arc but feels like she might comeback a few times.

Agreed. 5 minutes into this week's episode, I stopped and went back to the previous episode to check if I skipped one and forgot... The last few episodes have felt more like a mid-season recap episode, which is rather disappointing. I like the various 'vignettes' but I am missing a lot of the connecting plot, so it felt more like a random episodic 'gag anime' than a coherent narrative. I hope it will get better soon or I'll lose interest by the 2nd core. Cheers!

Yea there's A TON of things being skipped or side stepped when it comes to character writing Things like the guildmaster telling Tomoe that while dragons cannot have offsprings with Hyumens they can with humans and essentially telling her to do it while he's still here so that she'll have something to remember him by and Tomoe refusing because she doesn't want their relationship to be treated like that while also terrified of his short lifespan

The talking about capturing the organization dude and the next scene of him being already captured and tied up was a little jarring. But, since it was going to be Makoto capturing Bright all alone, I can't see Bright ever avoiding capture. I suppose no matter how it was done, it was always going to be and was cut out for more time towards the interaction in the store. It would of been nice if they showed his death or him being disposed of at least.

The episodes have been good, but a lot of the stuff from the manga really does just seem rushed. The Rembrandt sisters just arrived, and now it's already summer break. It's weird, the manga spends so much time bouncing around all these storylines during the school arc, and the anime just hops through it all so quickly is like, was there any point in it, or was it just there to introduce some characters and move on? Basically, this episode finished off the last 6 months of the manga, and we will now move on to fresh territory.

The second part will have its rewards for those who stayed watching.

While I disagree with you whole heartedly about the "rushing", I do feel like they are juggling too much with too little hands. So it feels like it's rushed when you're finishing one spot so you have to go to another. We never saw Makoto off Bright so you don't know. You have to wonder why only HE wanted to go interrogate instead of Tomoe or Mio then since he hates killing? There's more to this whole thing. Rona leaving and leaving that letter.. (I haven't read it so idk) I have a feeling they were trying to make two worlds collide and did it in a poor way that made it feel "jumbled" is the best way I would describe it. Hell, fuck, I WISH they would rush the heroes to meet up with Makoto and the fam lmao. I think the biggest worry for me is the Ogre, Eris said that it will be a nice camping adventure so I just really hope we don't get some sorta filler ep next week.

I agree that enough things are happening between episodes that are NOT shown during the episodes that it feels like something is amiss.

I don't even know what the main goal of this series is. And I don't even really care. I just watch the thing and enjoy it. I can't explain it. I guarantee you if I went into an internet-group of hardcore fans of this series, I wouldn't understand half of what they were talking about. I'm just a casual fan who is along for the ride.

Haven't read the manga or novel and so far I haven't had any problems with pacing. It feels like they want to get to a certain point of the story. Depending on how the rest of the season goes I may or may not have pacing issues

I've read a fan translation of the manga and I remember this part of the school arc being jumbled and the author trying to introduce new factions operating out of the academy for this or that reason

I agree, something feels off. It doesn't help that they should have introduced the two other isekai'd heroes in the first season. Because they weren't introduced, the second season had to spend a few episodes making people wonder if they are watching the right show since the MC wasn't around.

That was an Excel Saga level of nonsense she pulled at the end.

The source novel is detailed, no doubt but they are not rushing. If anything, they have vastly deleted much materials or left them out. What you are feeling may come from the many missing arcs and characters that give substance to the narrative and character interaction . The school arc is not that concluded either, so anime is more or the less up to the point. The section of LN is mostly haphazard as well. The focus was Root so may be it will be concluded with those interaction. At this point, the novel is mostly engaged in its world building, rather than outrageous manouvres of the MC. I have seen some say that this is due to introduction of the Heroes but even if they had introduced them earlier, narratively we would have been up this very point because even then; some other side characters appear that keep Makoto engaged to his realm things. Also Banana!

if you want to know what happened to Bright Sensei... he's dead and the process for his demise was way darker than Makoto's first kill in season 1

I really hope this doesn’t end up like A Certain Magical Index Season 3 which J.C. Staff also did. In that case they attempted to cram 9 volumes of content into 24 episodes and it just didn't work and I hope that doesn’t ultimately happen here since they don't have to rush to begin with.

They skipped a lot of parts. Rona sees Makoto doesn't discriminate against races, it's for that reason she gave him the paper & she started to trust Makoto a little. I don't blame the people who don't like the Goddess because the Goddess is garbage. Makoto killed him with no hesitation, in the future Makoto will be more cold blooded especially against Tomoki's puppets. The blue lizard woman got angry because one the student called her name, she puts him in his place by giving him a good beat up. It was a good episode, i don't know how many episodes are left for the season to be over.

I want to see more of the Rembrandt sisters . They eventually become rivals to tomoe and mio for Makoto’s affections. That dynamic would be fun to watch

Maybe they did it as a joke. Makoto did say he had to deal with it quickly and then next scene they just skip to him interrogating the professor

What i am missing is specially more hints, more screentime for the profesor i think it could be done in 5 minutes over last 2-3 episodes (I was gonna say have 25 eps instead of 24 is not a big deal but its already 25 so maybe thats why) I hope this wont mean that there will be A LOT more skipped content. I had faith its impossible to happen but now I am nervous. I still think it will not happen but Im not so sure anymore. Still good episode.

That Bright teacher paid an assassin to kill Makoto back after the colored balls exam. But I agree that more build up would have been welcomed. Either way, I really like this episode, his students group is getting stronger! Those bananas lines and Aqua saving them from this wyvern at the end was sooo funny 🤣 Lona and Shiki are like the two sides of a same coin 😂 Get married already!

The anime leaves a lot out from the source material, like whole characters and big world building revelations, which may add to its pacing issue.

Im loving it. Season 2 seems slower because it will be 24 episodes. Season 1 was very flashy and successful in getting us hooked. There's no "build" because makoto, in this situation, behaves mote like a real person with a no bs approach to life. In that worls that are people who needs to die. Makoto saw how much damage one or two dipshits can cause a lot of pain and trouble for innocent people. I love makoto, one of my fav isekai protagonist

I'd like to know what the plot was. Because things happened and the characters did things and there was at least one storyline with the experiments... resolved? Kind of. But what was the story of season 2? What was the red thread that connects all the way through? Our hero existing in the environment of the school and doing things? Is that the story? Because that's a SOL anime then. Edit: To be clear, I like the show. But it's a bit skin-deep.

🧐 boring ass hell, even the ability explanation has no depths, MC just pull things outta his ass with no reason or how. The fight scene sucks too and everything is just pointless no direction. I don't even know what the storyline is now.

As anime isn't guaranteed a proper ending, I care less and less about filler episodes each series. For me, it is the Goddess fight, the heroes, and the final intimate relationship. Because it was what Makoto thought the new world should offer plus the push of new Makoto fans growing the selection pool.

I thought it was a good episode... I think the problem may be more that there's too much going on rather than things being rushed, but I do agree that it felt in this episode like we were missing some content about what went on with Bright.
