The fact that I (who only saw the first couple episodes of the One Piece anime) was able to watch and enjoy the entire first season of the live action show with my GRANDMA (who knows NOTHING about the anime or manga), really says something about how good it is!😄

As an expert on one piece anime and manga I can say that the live action is not really all that connected to the original story; it made up a lot and became an almost independent thing. It’s good though. It’s like pirates of the Caribbean with a one piece theme.

@yozarian86 then you aren't an expert. Season 1 is totally conected. Even Oda himself was in the project. The only changes in season 1 are Garp part was originally at Water 7 saga not at East Blue saga. Hacchan isn't there, and Jango too. Anything else is like the manga, the original work from Eiichirou Oda-sensei.

@@YzaekPark Yiu have no fking idea what you’re talking about. Go home and sober up. Yes Oda worked on it. And I’m sure a lot of changes are his idea. The changes make sense. Either because the live action needs to go faster or because they want to make it more interesting for long time fans. I’ve watched, read, discussed, one piece one piece countless times and watched theory and first time I watch videos many times. I have no complaints about the changes, but it barely even resembles the source material

fun fact: If you played an instrument in space (i.e. sax), how would it sound? It wouldn't sound at all. Sound is essentially vibration and needs something to vibrate to move the sound along. This job is normally done by the air around us.
