Thanks Steve! Finally a detailed review and install of the PDM60 on a GS! Ever since I first got hooked to all things GS, I eventually concluded that this would be the ideal way to power up all the other accessories! Couldn't find any detailed install videos until now. You Rock!!

New to your channel. I live in the UK and used to work for Budweiser ( Anheuser-busch ) at their London brewery in Mortlake as an Electrical and Controls Engineer. I visit St. Louis for a week on business and had a fantastic time. Just making my way through your channel. Love the all black GS1250, you did a great job. 👍

Hello from Ohio, USA Steve! Check out the Rowe Amplink PDM. It basically has the same features of the PDM60, but is Bluetooth programmable through a tablet or smartphone. I personally use it on my 2019 R1250 GSA with my iPhone XS Max, and it works flawlessly. No more having to connect it to a laptop while on the road if changes are needed. Great channel!

Neutrino Blackbox is the one that came out after this, where the Neutrino differs is the integration of wireless connectivity as standard. Rowe didn't go that route last I looked.

Hi Sir... I’m from Zamboanga City, a city far south of the Philippines. A very nice tutorial video and I’ve installed on my friends GS1250 exclusive but using Canopener from Clearwater, installed the Rowe PDM60, Innov and Denali Soundbomb. I just want to know where you got the bikes clean 12volt switch connection? Where is it located? Cause as I installed and hooked up the grey ignition wire from the pdm to the can opener to the Clearwater canopener yellow hot relay drive wire, still the pdm is always on.... it drained the Gs batt the next day. Thanks and hoping for your quick response. Good day..

Sorry, this is bad form on my part as I have made loads of videos prior to this showing where I get the switched live from so I assume all viewers know 😄. I take it from the 7.5amp fuse on the fuse block you can see next to the red pro plug. Red and Blue wire. On this bike the grey trigger wire on the PDM60 is spliced into the red/blue wire leading to the 7.5amp fuse and then the yellow trigger wire for the K2 is tapped into the grey wire. All neatly sealed with BMW OEM tape.

Hey Steve, does the PDM60 replace the power module on the INNOVV K2 or do have to add to it, does it down convert to 5v?

No it’s doesn’t not replace it. The k2 dvr needs that converter.

You can connect Denali Can smart by utilizing two of the circuits 15 Amp + 15 Amp. Neat unit never seen that one before and Canbus friendly.

As I mentioned in the video, no i wouldn't as the cansmart has a 30amp fuse and the individual circuits max out at 15amps each.

HI Steve, have you tried Parallels for Mac? its a virtual operating system manager for mac that lets you run a windows operating systems and other OS;s on your Mac.

Yes I have, i use to use it on an old mac. Memory hungry as I remember. Good solution but I don't want parallels on my mac just for doing this. However i could see myself using it if i couldn't source a window pc.

I'm not a clock watcher and combined with running the mail order side of the business I spread the installation over 2 days. However I'd set aside 4 hours if I was doing it on my own bike and wanted to do a really clean job. Pro, cons? Basically what I said at the beginning regarding fuses vs circuit breakers. Plus the PDM will allow up to 60amps whereas the other 2 products are 30 and 20 amps total.

Think the quad lock wireless is for cars only. They do a motorbike one which has a cable from the bike to the holder but you then have to plug in from the holder to the phone

@@andrewbooth4341 there is a wireless quad lock for bikes, they took it off the market for some reason, but it’s coming back, it may be back already.

Love the channel and all of your videos. Quick question. With the Amplink Ground Bus, do you just install one end to the battery ground terminal and then the other end is used for your accessory grounds. Probably a dumb question, but I am totally confused about how that works? Thanks in advance.

Did you ever eat at the Shaved Duck Smoke House? We stayed at Two Hotels, The Union Station very impressive and the Hilton overlooking the ball park. Very very hot there in July.

@@ABIKETHING I meant how to remove the actual ECU. I could unplug it if I could move the ECU, but it seems stuck on the bike with no screws. Also, is there any room down there and will it not get flooded at the first decent;y deep water crossing?

Surprised you didn't install the AMPLINK which as far as I can see is identical to the PDM60 though connects via Bluetooth on mobile phone which is far more convenient than USB. Also you can use a battery conditioner with AMPLINK via it's dedicated wire! And solves the Apple MAC problems as use iPhone. AND you wouldn't have to leave Din plug constant power ... just select it on your mobile phone App when you want it! Great vids btw!! I'll setup my Africa Twin soon.

Sorry I accidentally deleted your comment. Fat fingers. Yes seems the two breweries have a had a few legal battles over the years. I’ve tried both brands. Admittedly I did enjoy my my budvar overlooking Vltava river however I’m more of a Staropramen drinker when in Czech. 😁 🍺
