I like how the state of the elevator is a reflection of his internal state throughout the story, which correlates with the questions that are about facing his wrongs. At the end the elevator is old and worn down, and so is he after getting stabbed by his conscience. Makes you wonder if the owner always saw the elevator in that shape, whereas it appeared to the journalist the way he viewed himself, fancy, dignified, reputable, and out of his league. Fake, even.

Hey, LH friends. I'm once again super happy about today's story. I need a distraction since my younger brother called to tell me our mother died last night. I had not spoken to her in over five years, but still...I am genuinely shocked at how hard I'm taking it due to our "complicated" relationship, but I now realize that I did love her under all of my fear and anger. The fact that these narrated stories can have the power to allow us an escape from our darkest hours is incredible. I have a lot of respect and gratitude for Lighthouse, and all of the other channel narrators that work so hard to give us a bit of a reprieve from life's little shots to the gut. Thank you

In my perspective as an Autistic person, people lie so often that it's laughable hearing someone wondering why someone else lied. Some lies might be necessary, but running away from uncomfortable feelings is so cowardly IMO. We all need to take a break every now and then, but people act like they can choose whenever they want to grow as a person. Sorry if I sounded cynical. I'm glad there are people who value the truth. I just wish people were less hypocritical when it really matters.

Well...the elevator is actually doing good. The ending was deep. I really wish this elevator was real, I would play it. Examining our consciousness and facing our sins is a "MUST DO" exercise and do tons of good.

I love the stories you narrate and how the videos are put together also your talent for doing different characters voices. I do like the title lighthouse horror I do like the haunted ghost stories & I if I'm remembering right you did do two lighthouse stories? I gotta ask do you invite other narrators to help with a story series? I ask this as your skills are one of the best but there's a few guys that do stuff close to what you do , just a thought me personally would think it would be cool and interesting if you should co narrate one. 😊 Great job so far bro! The stories are well written and equally narrated by you. 😊

Would have been a better ending if he had come out of the elevator to find 30 years had passed, or something like that.

Pretty normal for an elevator to have up down buttons, those are used when the elevator is switched to manual, or "service" mode.

Yep. that reporter was shady. More interested in putting out a great story than checking if it were true. Maybe that's why he's been demoted to reporting on Urban Legends

Why is the Up-Down Elevator evil? Truth is a good thing. We can lie to ourselves all we want like in the story, but the ending showed the man was happy after exposing himself to himself.

Buddy reached up, as he did, he also rose, until touching overhead. I heard a tone, cycle through frequencies, coming from Buddy, but also the whole area. I know you're in a suspectable mood, this will take a while to stabilize. It was unlike the mental pulse of any species I have had contact with before, and almost strong enough to get me to enter, without performing my ritual..... which has been ingrained in me since childhood.

Great story!. I think that when he completely be honest to himself he would be reform and be brought back to the real world while if he continued to be delusional and not repenting to his actions he'll be sent to hell or sentenced to death as it is the iron maiden that is described that would squish him
