I live in San Diego and last year I bought an 02 camry with 70k on the odo for $4,800. My family and friends keep saying I overpaid. When I did the pre purchase inspection, the owner was a grandma who took it into the dealer for every little thing including the Takata recall. The engine, interior, and paint was showroom perfect, garaged its whole life, with 5 small scratches and 1 marble size dent. I'm really happy to get 23 mpg city and save $350 a month for my investment portfolio. A great car, and I can't wait to retire earlier becuase of it.

(CNN)If you drive a Toyota, you might want to read on. Toyota is recalling nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the US because of issues with the fuel pumps. The pumps can stop operating, the company said, leading to engine failure. "If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash," the company said. Toyota says it's investigating the issue. When it comes up with a solution, it'll notify owners by mail by mid-March.

Great video from a highly experienced Scotty!! I am a die hard fanatic Toyota enthusiast.....on my 4th Camry now......no regrets at all. It’s always helpful to know what extent such a used car burns oil, by observing the exhaust end for oil smell or greasy residue..... Or ascend a hill to see how strong the engine is.

I have a 2003 Carolla... bought it in 2002. The car has over two hundred thousand miles and still runs like a top. Now that was my work/beater car for 17 years. In the time I've owned it I only had to repair a rear wheel bearing. Other than that just brakes tires and oil. I just semi retired it because I just retired and treated myself to a new vehicle. What I purchased was a used 2017 Toyota Camry XLE V6 with 30,000 k. My cars sit outside side by side. One shines like a new diamond, all teched out with the latest gadgets. The other sits beaten, dented, dinged and the paint is fading. Once a week I take the Corolla on a 80 mile drive to a nearby casino using a combination of backroads and highway. I look forward to those Friday nights back with my old buddy. I actually pat her on the dashboard (silly) but that old car has been the most reliable thing in my life bar anything.

Good Vid ! Some tips --- Put a little antiseize on spark plug threads instead of oil. oil won't stay there long, anti seize is better. it comes in a Little container like pipe dope/ thread sealant. pipe dope would even be better than oil. For stuck spark plug plastic pieces - spray a little Wd-40 down the tube, wiggle till loose, spray , wiggle, spray & wiggle . i'm not a fan of brute force/prying . only as last resort. Easy does it for Less broken stuff. Wd-40 for the Win !
