add moly grease thin with motor oil if needed {colder areas }in diffs before you use any rc car after testiing tgo see if it works on the bench and lock tight medium / blue type all fasteners.i bought a few and they barley had any like a smear is all might as well had none

The diffs has a manufacturing error i belive when they were assembled on these early models, order a pair of new ones & check through them for any large gaps in between the spider gears & between the crowngears connecting too the diffs. might just need a few shims to sort it out. you get what you pay for, simple as that heh.

That is disappointing fro a new buggy. The differentials will all be inside their gear housing and should have some lube in there and sand does not offer much resistance via grip, so it shouldn't be hard on a gearbox. If you were driving it in heavy mud or something, then yes, that might be an 'over use' for the system.

These are oil gear diff's. Witch are also available,so they require the right amount oil before play a adjustment.

my cc01 started grinding the gears after I did a big old jump I took it apart put it back together and it started working again

Nice video. Everybody have the same problem with this car (only one youtube reviewer didn't seen that this car have problem, not so good reviewer). Ball bearing in gearbox move, mainly those who carry center drive cup, so diff. spur gear and bevel gear have really bad mesh. The other point is the bad quality of diff. gears. There is also plastic who are too soft on many parts. I changed lot of parts for HPI. If you want more information search "rcgroups mammoth blist x1" on google. Finally i convert it to HPI vorza because even the chassis plate can bend on this car.

Thus buggy is pre built. U need to unschrew all and schrew back it all again normally
