They both were from the same region… Nine had that gruffy voice even in his first recordings from the 80’s. I don’t think it was a coincidence that DMX changed his whole sound at the exact time that Nine was starting to create a buzz.

Nas’s story is different. Nas would have still been Nas because his first album laid a foundation for most rappers that came after including Jay Z. Pac and Biggie were great no doubt but Nas was already in his own lane and even Pac knew Nas had a big influence at that time though I wouldn’t say the same for Jay Z.

Good interview. Having been a DJ overseas in the 90s, Pac was the most admired and loved artist. Big came in second. I've been to 12 countries thus far. Just like Michael Jackson was huge overseas than in the US. RIP Pac and Biggie...

@@LurnWellActually, Drake tried to force his name into the Cole and Kendrick conversation. Drake tries to rap like whoever else is hot at the moment. At that moment and even now, it was an ongoing growth of the Cole Vs Kendrick debates. Drake wanted to be known as a lyricist at the time, but no matter what he did he couldn’t out rap those guys even with ghostwriters. So he went to biting island music and his flashy style you see today.

When Pac and Biggie died it interrupted the natural order of rap hierarchy. That old saying to be the man, you have to beat the man. Hov never had to battle the top guys to get that position. We never seen him out do the best but credit to him. When no one else was willing to pick the torch up, he did and made good. Even though he made a ton of money he never had the universal appeal Pac and Big had, but he had a ton of hits, and no doubt he was great.

i always heard the filler and extra unnecessary bunk ass skits from the day it was released. it could have been trimmed down to one disk with non stop bangers. the only reason they stretched it was to match pacs double album success . and i think thats what people say when it doesn't hold up well.
