I'm back with a new violin+piano cover of a song from another awesome musical written by the author of "Dracula" and "Rudolf", Frank Wildhorn (which is my favorite composer as I've already mentioned before). "The Count of Monte Cristo"/"Der Graf von Monte Christo" is a very special musical to me as it's the very first musical I've ever seen - actually, I found out about German musicals due to this one!
The musical is based on a very well-known novel by Alexandre Dumas and is about love, betrayal, revenge and hatred that can spoil one's life. In short words, Edmond Dantès - a young sailman - was put into prison because of a false accusation. After a long imprisonment and some events, Edmond becomes very rich, takes a new name - the Count of Monte Cristo - and returns home to take revenge on his enemies. He arranges a ball and invites the entire Parisian nobility including his beloved woman, Mercedes, who was forced to marry the culprit of Edmond's troubles. Mercedes is the only one who recognizes Dantès, and she's shocked - the one she thought to be dead is alive and so close to her...
