I grew up hearing Pops play Willie, Waylon, Johnny Cash. I listened to Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Trower. These guys are guitar heros just like my old heros.

On their version of Mr. Spaceman it's clearly an homage to mcguinn and clarence white, jangly, then bendy. And luv your "cosmic," appellation to this kind of folk music, ala, "Workingman's Dead;" simultaneously earthy and grimly blue-collar met with biblical sensitivity to the woes of a man.

I saw Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives perform at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Best show I've ever seen. What a great band, and all are super musicians.

We opened up for them, had a good meal with them at the restaurant and chatted for awhile then watched them play an amazing show! Also went and seen and chatting more.. they are all good people!

I know this song. The Grateful Dead used to do this number in San Francisco back in the 60's. Marty Stuart & The Superlatives do a great job as always. Thanks for bring back the memories.

Incredible. Until now I didn't know Marty played that song, I' ve mostly been familiar with Grateful Dead's version, but Marty and his band take it to another level. And that Clarence White style solo towards the end is the icing on the cake.

Saw several great shows at this venue when I lived in Ft. Thomas, KY from 1998-2003. Levon Helm, David Lindley, Sleepy LaBeef and others. Great intimate room.

go back and listen to the byrds era music late 60s and early 70s..and check out Clarence white. on those records etc. that's his guitar marty is playing...

The Jam, The song goes back to the 30s & was never written by them . They did it as many have & made it their own in their way. Your right Marty dose on hell of a fine job on Clarence Whites original B Bender & you can really see him work it .

Standard Tele but heavily modified (pickups, added B-bender, etc.). It was once Clarence White's.

It was a Clarence and Gene Parsons collaboration on this guitar. Yes this is the real thing. Marty got it after Clarence died.

I dunno brother. I've listened to the numerous recordings and went to 80 Grateful Dead shows, loved the song. Give the man credit, Marty does do a fabulous job with this song.
