In terms of diving deep sea badjao is the best and impressive.. visit them here in the Philippines to see and witness urself to prove what they actually got😍😍💪💪

I've been in competitions where Imam also competed. and I was there when they shot the Netflix documentary 😁. Yes they do a pretty good job, but the deepest Filipino divers at the moment are trained "modern" freedivers, not badjao 🙏

@@gertleroy not criticizing my fellows but you should ask them if they can dive without nose clips and ear buds. That separates the Badjaos from normal Philippine deep divers.

In indonesia we known them as "Bugis" ethnic included "badjao" tribe as well for sure the master of ocean for us the real sailormen and the "Pinisi" wooden traditional ship comefrom, they spread all around southeast asia even they ancestor get found in south Africa #Respect 👍

please don't believe that myth! the myth created by national geographic is actually 13 mins. but yeah I belive there's people now who made it even more interesting by adding a couple of minutes. There is no report whatsoever of a 13 min breathhold let alone whole spearfishing. It's pure bogus. Peace ✌️

Not exactly accurate to say MOST filipinos as not ALL filipinos have travelled to Sulu or the Southernmost coastal provinces. You can say many, if you're confident about your statement, or say some, or even a number...but not "most"

are you using a low volume mask? new to freediving and i used a high volume one and when i got deep, my nose and my eyes were in so much pain

Ma grandpa diving about around 7 minute with out any trouble.. it said tht him work as fish archer😂.. dive into deep sea ... Some of them likely to live in a boat/sampan n sail all over sea from riau to all over asian

there's a lot of myths going around, the best one is the one National Geographic spread many years ago: badjao hold their breath for 13 minutes.. No they don't. And I'm pretty sure your grandpa didn't hold his breath either for 7 minutes at least not while swimming underwater. Maybe ( but still very unlikely) he could hold his breath for 7 mins on a STATIC breathhold, but for sure not swimming.

The Bajau Tribe comes from the Sulu Islands region in the Southern Philippines. And because of their nomadic sea life, this tribe eventually spread into the waters of Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia.
