When I was in elementary school, a lot of Sudanese refugees came to our school from Sudan fleeing the war. They were able to do all kinds of really cool whistles and things in this was one of the whistles that they could do... I befriended one of these boys his name was Mayol Kuwak, I probably just spelled it wrong... Anyway by fifth-grade, Mayol had successfully taught myself in a group of people how to do this whistle. Mayol and I were friends until highschool, sadly we parted ways, but the whistle shall live on forever.

Try blowing into the cavern. If you feel any air going through your fingers, try to close that gap and try again. To get the sound going, put the mouth on the thumb (the joint underneath tour fingernail) - top lip just under the fingernail and the bottom one slightly under the joint - and blow down onto the place where the the hands meet. This is basically the bottom of the gap, and blowing onto it will make the air circulate through the cavern. There is also a way to make a much higher sound: point your left palm towards you, and make a scissor shape with your right hand, with tour thumb and index finger on one side, and the other three fingers on the other side. Now, 'cut your palm' with the scissors so that the end of your index finger is just above the left thumb's knuckle. Now, make a cavern, like in the other method. Make sure there are no holes. Blow in the exact same way, but harder, and you should, with practice, get a high pitched whistle. I kearnt both of these techniques from my friend :)

One thing i learnt: doesn’t matter how you make the ‘cavern’ so long as the air isnt escaping and your thumb’s in the same position as in the video, then all you gotta do is SQUEEZE your thumbs and hands together as much as you can, and leave the opening alone, instead blow from the top. Think of it like blowing into a bottle, you blow from the top and you dont cover the whole opening
