As someone who's never been about that life and has thought all this shit is dumb, I've recently been educated and I wish more people were. SO as it has been explained to me there is a very specific reason they do this. When you're cold and wet watching your friends die in combat. You or your fellow soldiers can call back to moments like these and say "remember when you thought you couldn't do it in training? You did! You can keep going past your breaking point. You know you can because you've done it before" Don't get me wrong that's several layers of fucked up if you're in the wrong war. But if you're in the right war it's a very good motivational technique to get the most out of people.

Every war is a wrong war. War is a last resort, where all other right measures that should have worked, failed. The Roman Empire trained its legions as if it was a battle all the time. A common way to address their Legion’s training was “Romans have bloodless battles, and bloody drills” because of how realistic their training was.

Full of good ideas like that but the problem is there's only one washing machine and one dryer back at camp to be used by 40 men. The same kit was expected to be cleaned and ironed for inspection first thing in the morning happy days lol

@@MurrayProds Well for a person still in school I’m in JROTC and I work on a military base so I have more experience for what is to come and I am more prepared for what the army will be like since I am at a young age still and I have gone through many training facilities that prepares you for the army specifically. It might not be as hard as boot camp but I have enough experience to know I’m never going to get comfortable,I know I’m gonna get sick,I know I’m gonna get hurt, I know I’m gonna get dirty,wet, and bloody but does that mean I’m not ready? No it doesn’t :) -Btw don’t take this seriously my feelings might be different from yours but just bc I comment that doesn’t mean I’m not ready for what is to come. And have you ever got sick in a gas chamber? Well everything comes out from either side(Specifically you get sick and well stuff comes out on either side)and that will get ur pants real nice and wet.Or when ur camouflaging in the water ofc is gonna get you wet. So yes I have been through the trials of what the army will be like so don’t assume ;)

On my basic the PTI set a course over the off road driving course and took us through the water crossing (mud bath) every time. Best part was having to get the uniform clean with half the laundry facilities busted - that was the real beasting. What I learned was how not to treat people.

why soldiers might sit and lean back behind a lake, it could be for a few reasons. Maybe they are on a break during a training exercise and taking a moment to rest and hydrate. Or, perhaps they are on patrol or reconnaissance and taking a moment to observe their surroundings from a hidden position. It could also be a spot for a sniper or other specialized soldier to set up for a mission. Overall, there are many reasons why soldiers might be found sitting and leaning back behind a lake, but it's likely related to their duties and responsibilities within the military
