Gosh I normally don't love travel content, particularly (and no offence) americans doing their european summer tours- mainly because on social media people just seem to go to the same destinations and take pictures at the same spots and it feels a little boring. this was so refreshing and it was lovely to see you take it slow, see some sights but mainly immerse yourself in the city and try and see it through the eyes of locals! looking forward to the rest of the series and soo excited you're going to north africa!

I was in France this past summer, I’ve been traveling to Europe since 2001. And to be honest 2022 was the most Americans I’ve seen in the continent. Social media really has made so many Americans esp young Americans really venture out.

Please think before you take a flight. It's at a cost to the environment. We cannot keep denying our own fault in the climate crisis. If everyone said my actions don't matter, the world would be in a much better place. Staycation, sail, Bikepack.

Loved this, I lived in Madrid for 3/4 months last year and this video gave me a little reminder of why I loved it so much. The incredible history, culture, social life and so much more! A truly amazing place.

I'm so excited you're going to Lebanon, that's where I'm from and you barely see KZfaqrs visiting us which is a shame because the food is incredible, the people so resilient, the night life known around the world, it has one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world (since 5000 bc) its just soo underrated ❤️

Hi Elena, good luck on your trip! I am originally from Istanbul, living in Berlin the last 5 years. If you want a true Turkish Mediterrenean experience, I would strongly recommend you to search some of the towns in especially these two cities, Antalya and Mugla. Bodrum, Finike, Side and Alanya are only some of them. There are magically beautiful places in the Western and Southwestern coasts of Turkey.

15:40 was a beautiful summation of your purpose in filming these videos over the next 2 months. Not huge on travel YT content, but I can't wait to watch this series. I'm 22 and moved to Madrid in February (from Louisiana, USA) for reasons similar to yours - growing in appreciation for Southern European culture through the lens of those actually living here!! Shaping our perspective like this... idk it just seems to drown out the drama of youth and instead inspire our development in the most rewarding/fulfilling ways. I hope you have so much fun and soak up every moment! And if you're looking for any good restaurants :), a few of my favorites are Sushita Cafe, Casa de Diego, Lamucca (Carmen y Prado), Pante, Rosi La Loca and HONEST GREENS (!!!). There are so many smaller tapas bars worth the trip in La Latina and near Tribunal, too. xx!

Loved the Royal palace sm! If anyones planning a trip, a guided tour is so worth it. Like we learned that the Royal family lived there until the most recent king and queen, who decided to open it for the public and live elsewhere. The grandmother (past queen) sometimes takes her granddaughters (princesses) and walks around the palace, blending in with tourists besides the few tour guides that lowkey recognize

Just a little comment on the red-faced portrait: That's Carlos III, main reaponsible for the decorations of the Palace as we see nowadays. They started to build the Royal Palace after the Alcázar burnt down in 1734 and the Philippe kings Sage was mentioning ruled in the XVI and XVIIth centuries. Glad you enjoyed your time in Madrid!!

I really find it so exciting and nice in what direction your videos are going; it‘s not just the fun personal vlogs and videos (which are great) but u always give so much information about culture and history (AND they are so aesthetically pleasing!!)is it on your New York neighborhood videos or this travel vlog.. really love that! hey Elena! Loved this video. I found the last bit super interesting as an American who moved to Madrid in my early 20s, stayed for 6 years/began my career, married a Madrileño. Life in Madrid is so wonderful, but money can be tight. Ultimately the only thing that made us move back to the US (aside from family), was the salary difference.

You're right! Sometimes it's kinda of confusing to me because Portugal is not a mediterranean country, but we share several cultural elements with mediterranean countries, including the mediterranean diet. But anyway I said that because at the end of this trip they came to Portugal so I was expecting and hoping to see Portugal included in the project.

Good choice of countries, happy you included North Africa and Turkey and Beyrouth! I actually went back and added Tunis back on my itinerary when I saw Sidi bou said on your IG. The flights from Athens/Turkey to Tunis are pretty cheap for the season. Excited for the coming vlogs
