I was able to build all 4 lots included with The Sims 4 Werewolves, today's one was so much fun! Leaving steel frame exposed and letting nature take over this once thriving factory was a fun challenge!

Honestly, this pack wouldn't be this great if James didn't build the lots. I know they often get multiple simmers to build the lots, but it makes sense to just have one person build everything so the world looks cohesive (at least for the community lots). James' attention to detail is amazing! Love the addition of the sewers which supposedly "connects" to the bar. The sims team wouldn't have bothered with that if they did this lot on their own. Kudos & thank you to James! This is the first time that I've actually enjoyed playing without having to renovate or change the premade community lots.

The lots are definitely a big part of it for me too. Obviously, the dev team did so much work creating the world and the items, etc., but they rarely, if ever, put this much care and detail into their lot builds.

I love the contrast between 2022 sims team and the sims team from even a year ago. With James, they're like- "move the terrain down 1mm", "get rid of this tiny air vent", "add a singular window, this doesn't make sense, we worry about our players." With literally EVERY OTHER PACK the vibe is, "no toilet- no problem!", "stairs leading to nothing- sounds exciting", "reuse the exact same base game house? yes please!" "a non-functional kitchen? sign me up!" It's hilarious to me, but I'm living for the evolution.

It's because EA had control before, and they have given control back to Maxis - and Maxis actually cares about the game, it's not just a money maker for them like it is for EA. @Cilibi They might not have been able to fix it before the deadline, but having it removed most likely means they will never fix the problem, which would not be optimal in the future as having this feature could have made for a lot of interesting builds, besides think of what could have been done for newer packs with this added feature, which will not happen since they will not work to fix the problem. I really do not like it when people are giving the game companies permission to not fix problems in their games, yes fixing the problem might take a while, but not fixing it is a lot worse than having to wait a little longer for it.
@Cilibi
@Cilibi 2 жыл бұрын
@@Skullost I’m just saying it’s a lot to expect of the devs. They really don’t have a say on deadline and most likely have to move on to the next project immediately after finishing one. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be nice to fix this kind of thing, but with how terribly managed the industry is it’s kinda unfair to expect the devs to fix a problem they didn’t anticipate without time, money, and support from the higher ups. I guess I just think blaming the devs is pointless and pointing fingers at the wrong people. The devs are working hard.
@Skullost
@Skullost 2 жыл бұрын
@@Cilibi Sometimes the devs are to be blamed, sometimes not, I hope Maxis takes the time to fix some of the problems present in the game. I think the biggest issue with the gaming industry are the players, since most complain about games/companies for never fixing all the issues in their games, yet still buy all their games, which only prooves to the higher ups that people actually do not care about the issues they are complaining about. :(

The build looks cool as hell, but I still can't imagine the library or the gym operating in a snowstorm with seasons 😂 I wonder if NPCs will be freezing there.

…do werewolves freeze, or does their fur keep them warm? Has anyone tested with werewolves and seasons?

@@bookcat123 in my experience, werewolves don't freeze as long as they are in werewolf form. Vampires can burn in the sun while in the "main" library though.

James attention to detail is insane. I love this. I have my werewolf sleep in that overgrown room all the time. All the lots blend in so well, almost too well 😂 I want James to create a lot for that blank lot so I can put something there that’s not just blank and I can treat like a community lot since my sim just vibes outside with her werewolf traits. 😂

This is my favorite lot in the pack. I was focused on gameplay when I got the pack, so I didn't really look at the lots at first, just a quick glimpse, so every time I came back to this one, I'd notice something new like the big telescope or the empty room. I love the idea of a library being the big community hangout place. So far, my only changes to it have been to add a robotics table to the former pond room and I plan to add a woodworking table to it, too.

James, I have to say after watching all of these and your builds getting pretty much accepted by the Sims team in the first try: I looove how your brain works! Such fun ideas! And in a style not all people (me included lol) can pull off! Props to you! It makes me actually want to have this gamepack!

James, you did such an amazing job on all of these builds! This pack would not be what it is without your contribution. Your creativity, and gameplay thoughtfulness really shine in these videos, and I think everyone who gets this pack will have so much more fun with it because of your genius and hard work. Thanks for being such a blessing to the Sims community!

I think I can speak for everyone in saying can you pass on to the sims team we want more of this. Its so much better when people that play the sims make these builds because they know what works and what doesn't. Please no more missing doors and toilets like previous packs had with lot builds. This actually made me buy the pack.

Once again, THANK you James for showing us your progress and for an awesome build that looks and works so well. It's funny you asked us to think about how the lot would look if renovated as I was wondering that as well. I was thinking about how it would look if the community got some kind of grant to do some of that.

Now your task: no restrictions! All packs, cheats and alt is now allowed! Show us how you'd change things :D Orrrrr maybe just what you'd do on the vacant lot that's not a home with no restrictions. Then upload it to the gallery so we can have a complete James Turner world!

It's super fascinating to see how it all came together, from now on EA should only ever hire creators for their world builds because clearly, their own builders suck :D I already asked this before but could you give us a rough timeline for long this actually took? It would be interesting to know when EA startes with the world build and how long before the pack comes out it is actually finished. I know nothing about game design but I would guess you probably started like last fall/winter?

Why the hell would I want to restore this masterpiece?! XDDD The absolutely best part of you people building lots is that I don't have to restore it and I can play. Because don't get me wrong, I love renovating houses (and no, players don't want generic starter houses), but I honestly hate redoing community lots... So thank you very much for doing all of this so perfectly! :D

It’s so trippy hearing that James say his Glimmerbrooke (I might’ve spelt that wrong idk I haven’t played that pack😅) factory build was practice for this one. Meaning he’s known about werewolves coming since ROM? That’s just so crazy cool to me. I’m not surprised that he was able to keep the secret that long or anything but like it feels a bit funny cause I never suspected he was hiding anything. Excellent work all around!

I have an idea for how tro make walls look like they've fallen down, but not fully. Half-walls in varying sizes going down to the smallest, and then maybe to cover up the harshness of it, using plants like ivy and things to cover the edges so it just looks like it crumbled away and was covered over time by nature? I'd love to see you maybe try this out on a future build? the build looks amazing, uoi can really see what you were going for in the way that you built it
