was afraid that your entry to dangdut (it's pronounced dangdoot btw) is project pop..they're basically parody band, they're popular in the 90s anyway, as you may guess, dangdut is heavily influenced by indian and arab music (that belly dancer thing you mentioned is almost there), the difference is the way you sing it, the singer needs to have a special vibration technique in their voice that we call "cengkok", oh and i adore dangdut guitarist, as most dangdut songs got crazy guitar solos, they practically just hit 4-5 keys and the rest is solo guitar with mild effect like what you heard in 5:40, which popularized by rhoma irama (king of dangdut) edit : i like your country's music..maybe some video games soundtrack based on this..it sounds so...adventurous

Dangdut for Indonesia is like reggae for Jamaica. Indonesian original music genre that unites the nation. the focus is on the gendang (a typical Indonesian musical instrument, maybe you can say like a drum that is hit directly with hands instead of sticks) and also the flute. well if rege has bob marley then dangdut has Roma Irama (king of dangdut) one of the legendary singers in Indonesia. You could say it's like bob marley for rege. Well maybe you will be surprised by the age of Rome's rhythm now. and until now he sometimes still sings Well there are other genres of music in Indonesia, such as keroncong, koplo, campur sari and so on. I can't mention all because almost every area has its own unique music genre.
