I’ve never been extremely impressed with the look of Q-Acoustics speakers… but I bought a pair of 3020 on sale and never looked back! The sound quality is phenomenal for these little rounded boxes! I LOVE them! I have a huge grin on my face every time I fire them up!

I bought a second hand pair of 3050's for the sum total of £30. they sound fantastic and im 100% sure I wouldn't be able to buy a significant upgrade for 50x the price.

I've heard 2 different sets of Q Acoustics (M20 and a model from years ago I can't recall) and was left underwhelmed. Never got what the hype over them is about.

That Metaxas stuff is crazy. I used to have a brochure from the 90's(?) from when Kostas Metaxas was based in Australia. Just for giggles, I googled him recently and that's the first I had seen since back in those days, if you have ever seen his understated but classy equipment from back in the day, you can imagine what a shock it was seeing this newer gear! Hi old gear still fetches high prices second hand too I see.

I bought a pair of q acoustics speakers about four years ago now the 2050i love them to pieces. Always amazed by just how good they sound they’re not going anywhere soon❤❤😎

Hi fi runs such a sweeping gamut. I just picked up a pair of Polk T15 small bookshelf speakers for $13/pr and I'm psyched! These folks are talking $50,000 speakers and here I am enjoying the sound of some low end accessible two-ways. Is there any affordable stuff at these shows? Or a lot of top shelf products only?

Back when we had Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, they would set up high value rooms at certain price points. For instance the $500 room had a turntable and a pair of active bookshelf speakers, they sounded incredible for the price. And then you could go to the $1k room, the $5k room, etc... My favorite rooms were the DIY rooms such as Parts Express and Linkwitz, R.I.P. :(

The ELAC room ended up being my favorite of the show. They just drew me in with the deep clean bass and that folder motion tweeter was sweet! And they looked really nice too

Kaleidoscape has been around for a long time. I owned a hifi/ home theater company back in the early 2000's and we used to install them back then. They've always been very expensive.

Glad to hear AE is coming back. My most enjoyable and frankly Awesome Sound Bar that COULD play music exceedingly well with a huge sound stage. It's only drawback was the postage stamp size remote.

I assume you were there on a "press day" -- right? The hallways look nearly empty in your video. The problem I have at audio shows, on the days that are open to the public, is that it's hard to actually hear the gear. The rooms are often tiny, and they can be absolutely packed.

I'm a huge fan of music and love gear but I still don't consider myself an audiophile. I just think it's an elites term and I don't think of Randy as one either and I mean that in a good way. He listens to what he likes and doesn't care if some people say that's not a quality recording. I tried to force jazz down my throat and classical and I do critical listening. I even designed and built multiple pairs of speakers. But in the end I want to listen to metal and hard rock. Also I listen to that unplugged Korn song with the Japanese drums that Randy recommended and it was awesome. So I just say enjoy what you have. Don't worry about what you don't have because we are only here for a little time and none of us are going to take it with us

There comes a point where the audio equipment exceeds the quality of some of the recordings. Thats always a big disappointment when the audio equipment exposes flaws in the recording .

Am I the only person who remembers when CD's were just coming out and all of these manufacturers were dumping on LP's and anything to do with a turntable? Now it's in fashion and they're selling $3, 4, 7 and 10 thousand dollar turntables to get the most out of what we were all told were junk analog recordings! I think this industry has proved that audiophile's are a bunch of idiots with money to burn.

Really shifts the perspective of what "cheap" is. The first time I viewed your channel, I thought $1000 was a cheap hi-fi system. Now I think maybe $3000 is pretty cheap for the enjoyment I get. However, it seems $5000 is the new cheap.

My hifi system has evolved over the last 40+ years. So estimating its net worth is futile. But a seni-educated guess at its replacement cost would be circa $25000. I’m sorry, but there is no way that $500 thousand system sounds 20, 10, 5 or even twice as good!

There are great speakers out there for much cheaper. Get a nice amp, and a goodly designed speaker will sound outstanding! DAC's can have an effect as well, although more subtle.

When you have the opportunity to hear such a high end system put together with time and effort regardless of cost, why would anyone just listen to the worst recorded music possible on it. Surely they would want to experience what is ultimately possible in this hobby at this moment and not waste the dealer time. I'm sure there were many others that would of appreciated and valued the opportunity
