Mike Swigunski is a 33-year-old nomadic entrepreneur who moved to Tbilisi, Georgia from the U.S. He is able to take advantage of tax benefits from living abroad and a low cost of living that allows him to work as little or as often as he likes, and he still manages to make $275,000 a year. As a result he has traveled to 100 countries, can afford a two-story apartment, and has a private chef come six times a week to cook for him.

Why is every digital nomad’s job running a business that teaches other people to be a digital nomad?

Exactly, people selling courses earn 50 times more on those courses than on the actual thing they teach in them :) We are at the point where everyone wants to teach and no one wants to do an actual work, and that will change very soon.

If your income is in dollars or euros, then Georgia is a good place to live but if your income is in GEL, then it is terribly difficult to live here. It is much more difficult for locals to live in Georgia than for foreigners. That is why Europe and America are full of Georgian immigrants.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

Was looking for this comment. I hate when "digital nomads" falsely mislead people into thinking life in x country is soo much better when they aren't actual citizens of that country or make the average wage of that country's citizens. All this, while making cost of living in that country more expensive for locals by "living" there with their high foreign salary/money; and not paying the full extent of taxes the citizens do. My friends in Spain can't even afford a place to live, other than with their parents, thanks to "digital nomads" and a host of other problems.

So I’ve lived in Georgia for a total of 6 years, coming in and out since 2010. Anyone considering moving here should know Georgians consider foreigners to either be tourists/guests or citizens, and you’re only a citizen of you’re married to a Georgian. Georgians do not consider foreigners as residents. Even though I am fluent in Georgian, have worked in Georgian companies, and visited every region here, ok still a “guest” after 6 years. In other words, don’t expect to integrate as it’s a closed society, and I actually understand and agree with Georgians about this.

So this type of people outsource their income from already wealthy people in wealthy countries, come to countries where taxes are low, contribute very little to the local economy and local social life as they don't integrate, speak only english. Meanwhile because they have so much money and don't know better they overpay for real estate and rents so that drives up the price for everyone and pushes out locals because they can't afford it anymore. Digital nomads are a pain, if you want to move to another country you gotta bring something for the place, not just take from it

I don't know why people are obsessed with being a nomadic entrepreneur. It feels like a pyramid scheme. To be a nomadic entrepreneur you need to teach other how to be... This is stupid and has no longevity. The only people that could follow the nomadic lifestyle are software developers and marketing people. Others need to show up. Try fixing your life and stop thinking that all problem go away once you leave far away and hide from them. Solve them, don't run.

@Mr.Beant I just explained why it's not sustainable. Why do you respond with "everyone is different" like it's an argument? People can't do this. It doesn't matter if they like it and are different compared to me. It's still a scam. And I never forced anyone to do anything. Why tell me to "let people follow what they want to". I criticized how it's unlikely that they'll follow this since being a nomadic entrepreneur is not sustainable, done the way that is presented in this video.
