We are chopping more corn silage. I'm back at driving the big rig, hauling the silage to the silage pile.
Mackenzie takes on the challenge of racing her Mom. Who will win? Stay tuned.

Before you engage the PTO you should push in the clutch fully and put the transmission into a gear to stop the transmission from spinning then engage the PTO. Make sure to take it out of gear before releasing the clutch. That will stop the PTO from grinding. It’s wearing down the outside of the teeth on the gear.

I like your channel the most of the farm channels I watch. Everyone is so likeable, and you always do real stuff, warts and all. Sanders is my fav because he makes me think back to an age I've largely forgotten. I love home school. Why people are so slow to understand the public schools are just very bad babysitters where nothing good is learned, but sin and self-destruction are promoted vigorously.

Don't know why but I just love the sound of the corn chopper cutting silage. Brings back memories of past years I guess. I can remember hearing the chopper from miles around when younger but the farms have all been developed around me now, kinda sad.

Yes, I know that sound. Each chopper has a different sound,so you know what neighbor is working in the field. 😁

Kinda addicting channel watched a load of it this week. What you see is what you get very honest people great to see the work etiquette in kids well young adults all pitching in. Farming should be one of the best paid jobs in the world after all we all need it however it’s one of the least paid jobs in an ideal world all the family members should have a secure future on the farm and not need an outside income to raise a family on the farm. I watched an episode where one of the kids said he doesn’t like posting stuff from the workshop because of negative comments on how he should do repairs better, can I just say no one should negatively comment or say you shouldn’t do it this way or that, any kid that is willing to go out to a workshop and try repair something doesn’t need a more experienced person that probably works in more ideal conditions just come out with your doing that all wrong be more forgiving and encourage it more and maybe arrange for a few days training in your workshops I’m sure the family would be more than willing to take up a good offer. Just my 2 cents wort.

I try to tell it like it is. Had a very similar up bringing myself in Ireland in the eighties the one Hugh benefit that I see from my own early days is that the level of responsibility that’s entrusted in you as a kid is fairly head levelling in young adult life and great grounding for me at least gave me a sense that I could take on most things. I drove at chopper as you call it on the farm at 9 probably started driving at 6. Unreal stuff altogether great times we called them self propelled.
