I'll Take Manhattan is a 1987 American television miniseries, adapted from Judith Krantz's 1986 novel of the same name. Screened by CBS, it tells the story of the wealthy Amberville family, who run their own publishing company in New York. After Zachary Amberville, the patriarch of the family, dies, the company is taken over by his unscrupulous brother Cutter. Zachary's children, especially his energetic and intelligent daughter Maxi, begin a battle to regain control of their father's company.

Love these Classic Mini Series with loaded casts🤩However 90% of costuming was stuck in the 80s when it was supposed be the 60s and 70s era especially Maxi’s wardrobe😂

I read her book ; this was not a happy time period for Valerie ...she was working all the time, Eddie was touring all the time , rumors were getting around, the press was always bothering them . You can see the stress in her eyes , tho she is effective as Maxi, it still shows. It's a nice mini -series , obviously they had a pretty large budget . In the 80s , people loved this stuff (Dallàs,, Dynasty, , Knots Landing )

I love this series. Last time I saw this movie was when I was 17 years old. Even though perry king plays a bad guy in this movie I still think he is so handsome. I always thought he was and still do

Zachary should have said "You and Cutter are more alike than you realize, you use folks for your own selfish gain, were it not for me, you'd probably end up as a third rate dancer in some two bit Ballet Company. Cutter scammed, schemed and lied, to get what he wanted and he didn't think twice about living off of the fruits of my labors. He doesn't even treat that Jumbo Booker Friend of his properly.

These actions are very common in my social circle, especially regarding siblings. You see more of the wife/husband falling into bed with the 'best friend' more than anything else. However, brothers (boys) will be BOYS, know matter how old they are. Welcome to the Upper East Side. 😊

This scene reminds me of Dynasty where Dr. Nick Toscanni blamed Blake for the death of his Brother Johnny in a Third World Prison because he was a drug addict. He killed himself in his Cell. Yet Blake reminded him that it wasn't "his" fault that his Brother was an Addict.

I think they both should’ve compromised. It was unrealistic from her to expect , that Rocco will live of her dad’s money, but it was also unrealistic from Rocco to expect, that his young wife, who grown up in enormous luxury, will not struggle in small, overheated apartment. Perhaps he could’ve accepted some money for a nice flat or some help for Maxi, nanny or cleaner.

Lust definitely gives love, a run for the goal! Lily acted, as if, she had never been touched before. Talk about Cain and Abel! Jealousy is dangerous! I didn't like the scene where he kept kissing that child on his lips! I don't know why that was allowed. Heifer was crying tears of joy! Uh oh! Cutter got the chain she gave Zachary. She doesn't know that he also took her father's life.
