Fun fact: The " telepathy " for the ant is actually partly a thing they can dow with they're antennas it's used for calling other ants nearby from their nest/ant hill as we call them, when they are in distress or just need help. 105

Doesn't really work that way, pheromones don't contact ants from far away, it's more like they have a changeable body odor that other ants can smell, like how a dog can track someone by sniffing a price of their clothes and following the scent, the dog can't just know where to go without knowing what to look for, ants have to physically re-enter their nests and let others know with the "distress signal" pheromone. You can watch this if you find a large ant colony, and step on it for a second, you'll see most of the ants on the surface go inside, and then there will either be a lot of ants come out, or the amount on the surface will stay about the same size or few come back outside

3:30 They are not communicating telepathically, they are using pheromones. Many ants actually use sound to communicate individually, while still using pheromones to spread a message to the entire colony. Pheromones can be laid, detected, and followed by other ants over great distances to get to a food source, new nest location, potential threat, etc... Each colony has their own distinct pheromone scent that serves as their own little "ID badge," telling other ants that they are part of X colony.

out of all these ant ads is that The most important way that ants communicate with other colony members is through unique chemicals called pheromones. Using their antenna to “smell” the pheromones, ants can communicate everything from colony activity to where food is located. and somehow they make it seem like ant use electricity and not smell to communicate teh only thing they got right was that ants use their antennas for somethin about comunicaton

6:30 Weirdly enough, ants can do that. More specifically, army ants, a nomadic highly invasive species of ant that make arcs of their bodies to live on, and can build up with their bodies to get over streams, cross branches, and yes, attack hives. Those appear to be fire ants, which yes, they can form structures with bodies, but not like that. They can only make raft’s to shelter the colony and queen when their natural tropical habitat floods from frequent rainfall.
