Your data is still there! Boot from another drive, copy your users folder from that original drive to your boot or external drive and you should have it. As long as you didnt format that drive (not quick format long format) it should still be recoverable by data specialists.

@genbear You can still back it up if u connect ur SSD with an adapter to your laptop so u can access it, maybe ur os is the one which is corrupted. Try it, never hurts trying.

From what you told in the video it seems like the system is corrupted, but with some luck it might be possible to still recover the data on the ssd by attaching it to another PC (or by just booting a live linux on it, that would be the fastest instead of ordering adapters and stuff, but not sure how tech savvy you are) In any case, I'm sorry for you! Was in that situation, absolutely sucked. Can recommend backblaze for backups

This happened to me as well for a video I was working on late 2022, I was absolutely broken when I lost all my progress. It took me until April this year to recompile the clips and edit a new functioning copy. It was horrible. I really hope that you can make your way through this, and that somehow by some miracle your drive decides to be alive again.

In my experience as a youtuber, this will not be the last time this happens to you. If I had a dollar for every hour of footage lost I wouldn't need to do youtube as a job anymore. It sucks but it happens man. I ALSO can tell you from experience that 100% of the time, you will create something better on your second try after losing a bunch of work. Head up, keep grinding

Damn, that sucks man. Sorry to hear. That kinda gave me some flashbacks to when it happened to me. Thankfully I saved my important files on other drives, so I just lost my apps. Since then I've made a dual-boot system so just in case something happened, I can safely back up my files immediately. Hope yours can still be recoverable in any way.

That sucks man, I really get how you feel, I was working on this giant video just a month ago and the same thing happened to my SSD. After that I lost all motivation to remake it or make a new video. I love your stuff and I'm not disappointed in you for something that's out of your control. Man that actually fricking sucks. I’ve lost some stuff because I forgot to back stuff up, but never that level of work. Hopefully you can either salvage the video idea or make something else. It really sucks to loose something, because to me, no matter what you do next the lost work sort of lingers in the back of your mind. It’s really hard to move on from something great you’ve lost, but I hope you find another video to work on that you enjoy.

Actually.. I remember that when I had the same problem there was an option to.. restore Windows or something like that (from that menu you get if you are able to get through infinite loading screen. I have done that, though it took a lot of tries). I remember there is an option which just delets and re-downloads Systen32 files and some other OS related files, but should not touch other files.

To this day I have no idea what caused it and no one I talked to saw something like this before. that's not true. corrupt windows install doens't mean lost data. You just need to copy that data off to another drive and try to repair the system or install clean windows
