UPDATES! I LOVE Updates everybody. Today Atari pushed updates for multiple games fixing the issues I mentioned here in my video including; Joystick support is now working for Sigi A Fart for Melusina, Sir LoveLot and GunTech. Also The Left Trigger on modern controller causing your ship to continually spin in GunTech is also fixed! I am finding that the controllers are pairing way faster and you do not need to hold the button as I showed here either. Simply turn on your VCS and once you see the Atari logo on screen, press the Atari button one your controller once and release, wait a few seconds and they should pair before or right when your able to enter your password now! This is fantastic, Thanks Atari! Also New Games in the Store! That's right they also added two new games to the VCS store, they only support the modern controller but they both look fantastic. They are SuperMash and Something Ate My Alien, and they look great!

Great video, nice to see some positivity about the console. I just received my shipping notification 2 days ago, I should have it in about 2 weeks according to the tracking. I'm in Canada, hopefully it doesn't get hung up at the border.

I ordered mine New Years Eve. I am probably in for a long wait. I am glad you posted. Too many people are bashing this system. I have been out of the gaming loop for a long time. The last time I bought a game console was the WII and I hated it. I gave my Atari 5200 more play hours. I can't wait until I get mine. BTW I love your shirt.

That's fantastic, hope its not a super long wait as the system should launch early this year. I would guess once that occurs everybody should get their pre-orders and will get to start seeing them in the stores :-) The 5200 was great, if you grab the Atari Vault 2 from the store (once you get your VCS) it has a few 5200 games in it. Thanks, the shirt is actually an old one from the GameStop rewards program, when they had good rewards ;-)

I also heard most say that the atari vcs modern controller is good but not as long is the nintendo switch pro and xbox controller but it's still a good decent controller i know that atari said that they are listening to feedback that we are planning on fixing the issues that most people with the atari vcs and maybe they will fix the atari vcs modern controller with the retailer version to make it feel alot better just like the nintendo switch pro and xbox controller that's why they send it out the backers first before they bring it out for us retailer to make improvements just like atari said this is just the beginning so they can listen to the backers opinions on the atari vcs first and i want to wish you a happy new year as well!

Definitely, I hope we can get a few updates soon to fix the issues we found with the controllers. It's cool some people have their consoles and we have been able to let them know some issues to fix. So when they get to the stores these issues can be ironed out for everybody ;-)

For left handed people there should be an option in settings to turn new Joystick 90 degree clockwise. This idea can be used freely.

That is a great idea! Since the joysticks are wireless you don't have to worry about that getting in the way while holding it either.

I agree about that OG controller. As long as it is time worthy its seems ace. I wonder if they can just put like all the Atari games and just focus on that. To me having all of those different system games and arcade versions would be its selling point.

For sure and I agree. I would like to see some more Atari Vaults and maybe an Atari Activision Vault for all the games everybody always thinks Atari made ;-) I also really like the retro style new games! They are really fun. I've been having tons of fun playing Thrustlander, check it out :-)

Great video. If the VCS hits the shelfs someday I will probably buy one. Those joysticks look really good but I am concerned with their durability, and this is because of... Nintendo! We have a Switch and we had the nasty drift issue in ALL of our 8 joycon (4pairs). I was able to repair them myself, but still, the damage is done. Now I'm always scare of "investing" in stuff that won't last.

That is fantastic, I can't wait to see the Atari VCS on shelves soon too and I hope you find some fun when you get yours. I'll have to do some hardcore playing with my Classic Joystick, just to see how strong they are. I would not compare the joycon's joysticks to other analogue joysticks though. I do not know the specifics but I think because of the smaller, handheld size and construction of the joysticks is what made them so faulty. My joycons are toast as well, so I got the Pro controller, which is pricey, but worth it for sure ;-)

Yeah it's a fun console/pc hybrid for sure. The Atari store does not have many games available yet, I think about 10 in total now (I show most in the 2 videos). All the games are technically modern on the store, as they are all new titles. The Atari VCS vaults have a bunch of Atari arcade, 2600 and 5200 games.

So far, I like my vcs and the retro style stick. I like how the sensitivity can be adjusted just right for the Atari game (that supports it). It works great for breakout, tempest, tail gunner, guntech, etc. I prefer it for tailgunner and guntech. I like how it easily moves so you dont have to yank it, like the old one, tell your hand is sore. I cant play guntech as well without it because you can spin the handle to rotate tbe ship. I think tailgunner is much easier to play with it.

That's fantastic, I Love my Joystick too! I like to play ThrustLander with it! It uses the spinner functionality really well and is my favorite to play with it currently. Glad your enjoying your VCS, I heard we have a few more sweet Recharged titles coming, Black Widow just came out, Asteroids and Breakout are coming in the next couple months 👍

Eventually I'm sure some bigger titles will come to the store, just need the popularity to rise a bit and the official release to come and pass. Also till then, I've seen some people playing bigger more taxing games through the PC mode, and it can handle then pretty well. So that is a good sign the VCS can have more than retro remakes in the future for sure.

Not much game play the GUI could of been done in like a minute. Look I love retro but in general people complain about the switch and trying to justify the price yet here in Australia 🇦🇺 the VCS is x2 in price?

Many KZfaqrs have their biggest watch counts on Atari VCS videos just a short time period. It seems that there are some real value with this brand. Just like story of NOKIA mobile phones fall, new NOKIA hmd is still good brand&product even it is not "the real one"

I would agree, even though most people are not very positive. The amount of views on all these VCS videos seems like there is real interest from everyone on this new Atari VCS. I hope they keep up the good work, I am happy with mine so far ;-)

I'll try to get one out. I was searching around and most people only show the VCS next to their 2600. I could show some random consoles people may own so they can get a good idea of the VCS's size ;-)

Really dig your video though. So many jerks are just rippin on this but I think it’s so cool. I never had video games past NES, I LOVED Atari, but this actually inspires and intrigues me to play some more modern games. It’s cool.

N/P thanks for watching. I know it's not for everybody and the price is high ;-) I think the price is due to a small production of the tech they developed. Maybe if this gets a little popular, has decent sales and then they are able to make a second console that can be cheaper :-)

It should tell you something if Older gamers are looking at the Atari and Intelevision Amico for entertainment..... and not the Xbox and Sony.... Personally I think the Intellivision going be better, but I’ll probably end up buying this too

The Atari VCS is not for everybody for sure, It most likely won't get that low.

I doubt that. The console are not mass produced and you will ended up spending the same amount if you try to build similar system from the scratch.

If it’s all digital then I rather have the Xbox series S as my digital console Atari is a weak console doesn’t have so many great exclusive games you can’t try the Atari VCS games

It's not for everybody for sure, and I would say if you don't LOVE Atari than most people will not be interested :-) But it is an easy to use Lynx PC/Console that less tech savvy people may like to pick up and just play with.

@@ILoveStuffandSoDoYou digital is great for Xbox only you buy a game you can be refunded if you don’t like the game where Nintendo Playstation Atari don’t refund you back if you don’t like the game with Xbox you get over 100 games to play for free if you a game pass membership the series S was $299 not $400 Xbox is most powerful console plus Xbox is windows 10 which makes them the most powerful in gaming PC is known to king of gaming

boy do you know you bought a low end computer from a company that is not atari at all? in fact atari died in 1984, atari split into atari corporation and atari games, then atari corporation was bought by hasbro which then hasbro was bought by infogrames, in fact the latter got himself nominated atari. oh wow!! for 400 dollars you got a system that can play asteroids, and that plays all these games in this video on a better/cheaper system. The VCS can barely play older games like Skyrim! Ignore the fanboyism in this video and don't spend your money on this junk people!
