The music that uncle plays called "Ashiq" music and it always accompanied with our traditional musical instrument "Saz". It is one of the oldest musical art in Azerbaijan. Ancient times, Ashiqs would take their saz and travel across Azerbaijan and neighboring countries and perform in each village. Ashiqs were highly respected and considered very wise. Because, almost all ashuqs were performing offhand. The greatest example of our Ashiq heritage is "Dede Qorqud" epos. And in fact, Ashiq is a common Turkic culture, uniting all Turks in the world. You can find similar art among Central Asian Turks ( Kazakh, Turkmen, Uzbek), Turkish, Caucasian Turks and Iranian ones. Just wanted to explain the rich history behind uncle's music. And thank you for your love and respect to my homeland !

My friend who is exchange student is from Uzbekistan and i would love to see her country and seeing stuff from your videos is the best thing ever. I really wanna see Azerbaijan one day. I‘m half turkish so the fact that there‘s a country that shares almost the same language, the same culture & so much more w/ where my mom is from fascinates me. Azeri does sound a bit strange tho when hearing it for the first time if you‘re a native turkish speaker lol. I like it.

My family (I was born in America ) are from Azerbaijan, dad moved to America when he was fourteen and my mom moved there was she was 19, they are now fully Americanized lol, but my grandparents live in Azerbaijan and I always go visit I love it there, glad u liked it but I am fluent in Azerbaijani
