This made me cry as I have a daughter who has been going through a lot in school being bullied name calling etc, she' Beautiful-tall, 5' 11" slim, but was labeled as ugly, stupied etc, she has since graduated High School 2-years ago found someone who needed her as much as she needed him. together they are overcoming some pretty serious things. no more thoughts of suicide or less a person and are so much stronger. I hope this #wematter movement helps LOTS of PEOPLE. Love You EMONI & VoicePlay. keep it HAPPPY!!

I think this is probably my favourite video from you guys to date. Firstly, you all look like you're really having fun and none of the things you were doing seemed forced which was refreshing!! Emoni was great as always, Tony was back which is amazing (the whole group's back together) and the message behind this video was truly beautiful. I had a friend that committed suicide last year and the one year anniversary of her death will be this february and I wish that I could have showed her this song because I believe that it would have made a big difference. so if anyone believes that they know someone that might be depressed or suicidal in anyway I encourage you to stand by them and be there for them because it is the worst feeling to lose a friend to suicide and not realise that they were at that point until it was too late. prayers for every family that has been in that situation. God bless everyone.

I love emoni

I was also born with a tooth gap. I learned to smile close-lipped to hide my teeth. A "demure" smile, my classmates called it, and people thought it was cute. Little did they know, my smile was my biggest insecurity, and I would even practice speaking in a mirror to minimize exposing my teeth. Then one day, I was at a concert in a little club in Orange County, CA, and the singer (wish I could remember his name) had a massive gap between his teeth, wider than mine... and the most powerful, angelic voice. At the time, I was in the school band but afraid to take choir, because singing meant opening my mouth wide, and that meant showing off my teeth. To me, this singer was fearless. Although I heard some lady behind me mutter "A shame about his teeth, otherwise he'd be cute" no one said a word about his teeth after two songs, and by the end the whole audience was in love with this singer. That concert was a turning point in my life. The following semester, I took a singing class. I began to smile more openly. I still feared my smile was ugly, but instead of mockery, people began to compliment me because I smiled more "joyfully" and not just "demurely." Emoni and the rest of you guys, your existence has changed the self-esteem of someone out there, some kid with a smile that got them teased, unruly hair, glasses, hair loss, body image issues, or who has experienced abuse for their sexuality. You're out there showing us we're beautiful.
