I've been doing studio camera for almost twenty years and around five years ago, studio pedestal cameras were being replaced by robotic cameras in news prod, almost completely. I learned robotics quickly to maintain my job. But even that doesn't guarantee you work since wages and positions are being cut dramatically or altogether. It's a very rough business.

Next, the mic array that tells the camera where to point automatically. The technology is already there in video conferencing.

He loves his job, on which otherwise bin worked 5 people. In this studio he can not do anything spontaneous , everything has to be fixed in place(presenters, guests...) there can be no sudden movements because one man can not catchit with his joystick! - I apologize for my grammar :(

What are all those people in the control room doing? They have one guy operating five cameras and then they have a bunch of people sitting around. Makes no sense to me.

Typically as well as your Vision mixer/director and TD/camera op, you will have a producer, sound op, teleprompter... minimum
