Joe my friends dad is a painter and decorator and he says you must strip the wallpaper of the walls to do a proper Job.otherwise you will have the imprint on your walls and you definitely do not want that. Ok 👌 smooth wall is what you want🤗🏡👏👏👏👏👏🙋‍♀️

Just popping in to say: squirrels need nuts during winter because it's a healthy fat. They save it for their newborns in spring/summer which means more squirrels!

DONT PAINT OVER THE WALLPAPER!!!! It won’t work ... I mean it will and you can do it if you want but you have to stabilise it and everything and even so the wallpaper might bow from the paint and then you’ll be able to tell that there’s wallpaper underneath if that makes sense? Be much better if you just strip the wallpaper that way you can see what condition the walls are in too and you can fill any holes or plaster if needed. And you just get a nice smoother result 💖

Congratulations on the new house!!! One little piece of decorating advice... I would 100% take off any old wallpaper before painting!! Perk is that taking wallpaper off with a wallpaper steamer is SO FUN!! Paint Won’t sit well on it at all - especially if it is raised, you will see the outline on the paint. Get back to the main base. You might have to fill an odd hole here and there but it’ll be so much better in the long run!!

You do need to talk the wallpaper off and then paint. However you might need to plaster it before you paint it.

When our kids were young we got snow drops and crocus bulbs. Then had the kids randomly throw them in the yard. Then gave them a stick to poke in then ground. When spring came the yard was beautiful and remains so to this day! They still take about the flowers in the yard.

Joe, leave one patch of the brambles undisturbed, you will encourage much more wildlife that way!! You could plant a strip of wildflower meadow in front of the brambles to create a natural but really nice-looking screen and that will be great for the honeybees.

Robin tip for you Joe - ours aren’t happy clinging on to hanging feeders, so you’ll need to put food on the ground or a bird table. And your squirrel could actually be pregnant! They give birth about February time and need plenty of food, so maybe some peanuts on the lawn. You can get squirrel proof feeders, they come with a little cage around them. P.S. your lovely frog is a toad. It will be quite happy with some damp places to hide, but they will want water come breeding season. They might lay eggs in your pond, which would be cool : ) love your new garden!!

Joe, you can buy squirrel proof peanut feeders. I love feeding wildlife. The squirrels were eating the peanuts out of a normal peanut feeder. They cant now. Try putting a few peanuts in a dish just for the squirrels, it will stop them eating the bird seed. Diane, is such a lovely girl, your house and Garden is so nice, i think you will be happy here. Loving these house vlogs already. My husband and I are 28, and 29 and just bought our first home. All of the sudden the hardware store and garden centre have become our favourite shops and first time we are working in a garden and putting the time and effort in. I also bought a bird feeder! Not sure when we went from partying to now this so quickly in our twenties haha but we love it.
