Hi Dek! I recently saw a few of your videos here at Corner Case and wanted to thank you for the content! This video in particular is a great example of healthy, competitive play. I think it's all too easy to conflate 'competitive' with negative experiences (rude players, rule bending, ignoring opponent's fun, etc.), and this shines a refreshing light on the topic. I'm glad you had a great time, and that you're enjoying Infinty! Also, from an ALEPH player who started with their launch in Human Sphere N2, excellent taste in faction! XD

Thanks Devin! Super appreciate that! I just want more people to have fun with us 😊. The more the merrier! I think the internet will have too many people believe tournaments are for try-hards, but it’s only ever been fun for me

Yaaaaahhhs, Dek becoming a tournament grinder ... top table in 2023 my dude! But seriously, I 100% share your sentiment regarding the experience - yes, it is a competition.. technically... but for most ppl it is more about the meetup then the winning.

I won't say it... I have to say it. To Infinity and beyond! I've pulled the trigger. Got myself a Nekima Core box! I have some Infinity minis laying around, should get to painting them one day. There was a playgroup in my area, but no idea if it's still active. Played only one intro game, opponent went easy on me. Really liked ARO. One gripe I have about infinity is that too many silhouettes are too similiar. That makes it hard for me to paint non-standard colors on my guys. I know that proxying is not only allowed, but also encouraged. Which is great if you ask me! Really like their sculpts. Yu Jing seems to have my favorite miniatures.

Nice terrain piece at 1:39. If this was an ITS event then the Thursday update should have been irrelevant if it was withing one week. I know, I know, everyone wants to be relaxed and fun, yet this is why.

Hahaha thanks Erich. Yes the garage meta takes their tables very seriously! I’m confident I could have slid by with an old list, but I had to make the switch eventually, and 3 games is 3 games.

Thank-you for creating these…. I have been collecting 40k for a year or two (lockdown hobby) but don’t really have much interest in playing it. Your videos opened my eyes to Malifaux and Infinity. Both of these games I could see playing and this video got me interested enough to reach out to a local Infinity group and schedule a demo game this Saturday. P.S. I love the hat - unique and memorable.

Thanks John!! So glad you’re exploring the hobby! It’s really great. So much dedication and creativity within the community. I hope you have fun at your demo on Saturday! Infinity can feel a little overwhelming at first, so don’t be afraid to ask too many questions! We’re all here, so let us know if you need help!

I love infinity, its my favourite game, here in the UK we don't have a huge amount of players, my hobby group has approx a dozen regular players but they are a pretty dedicated bunch, super competitive but also very welcoming of new players and always happy to take the time of teach the game to anyone who's interested, so gald to hear you enjoyed the tournament

Amazing video! I shared it directly with my local players. I'm trying to convince them (all new players) to get to the tournament scene. But funny enough I find the opposite feeling between tts games and in person. I find it more natural in person, I can talk through, and get to know the other player. Make a new friend. On tts I find the technical barrier is an extra difficulty on top of playing infinity. And at the end I don't get to know the other player at all.
@CornerCase
@CornerCase 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Manuel! O for sure, I don’t think TTS is a better experience. It was frustrating at first. But I think I felt this way this tournament because I was rusty. I wasn’t walking around the table as much as I probably should have. I only play TTS with my friends. I would feel slightly suspicious of a stranger on TTS probably 😅

Gotta agree with your points about competitive play. I went to my first Malifaux tournament earlier this year. I expected it to suck since I spend more time reading than playing. But I have to say I had a blast. Everyone I played with was super cool even when they were trouncing me. Would recommend #hobbyparty
